Season 9 Cast

A brand spankin' new season of madtv is almost upon us. With every new season come new faces and fresh characters and, sadly, the departure of some familiar faces. And though many fans become irate when they see their favorite actor leave, sometimes even threatening a boycott, it must be understood that the rotation of cast members is the nature of the MADtv comedy beast. This is what makes the show unique and gives it strength. We still receive e-mails demanding the return of former cast members, former cast members that at one time were new cast members. Will and Alex moved on the season before last; at one time they too were unfamiliar and viewed with skepticism, yet went on to create some of the most popular characters and impressions in MADtv history -- Ms. Swan and Kenny Rogers will not be too soon forgotten. A television show like MADtv inevitably remains fresh, it is after all most commonly referred to as "variety" program. It can be argued that such a show will never "jump the shark," characters will never marry one another, we're not likely to see an entire season devoted to a pregnancy, no one will get cancer and we will never -- god forbid -- have one of those uncomfortable "serious" episodes. The season 9 cast will be announced shortly and we ask both our devoted fans and not so devoted to welcome them and embrace the laughter -- the funniest season of MADtv to date is just around the corner.

Well...I'll be happy if Frank and Mo stay, and Mike leaves. Besides that, I don't care what happens with the next cast. I hope we get the cast list soon.

I liked the cast last season. I hope for not too many changes, but we know there will be some. I'll be sad seeing Debra go, mixed about Michael, because I got used to him for the past 4 years. Hope that new guy Jordan will be good, and whoever else they hire to replace Debra.
