This episode was pretty good. The Olive Garden sketch was really funny because the cast was trying to portray an Italian family and they were showing all these nasty foods. OMG the Boy Meets Goy sketch was sooooooo funny. It was HYSTERICAL!. Michael portraying a girl is just too funny. "This is Bull $hit!" As for Sean the Floor Leader, he's pretty funny and can pass for a recurring character. He spooks me out a little bit but it's better than annoying Rusty. The Love Therapy sketch was pretty good too. I was a little shocked at Michael's hair..it's sooo SHORT! Oh well he still looked good and he was funny.

The Olive Garden--- This was excellent. It was great of them making fun of how ethnic restaurants never quite make the food the same as back in the foreign countries. Thumbs way up! 4/5

Boy Meets Goy--- At first i was annoyed to see another Bachelor TV show parody. But this was hilarious! It reminded me of earlier seasons. Thumbs way up! 4/5

Consensual--- This was actually a pretty good parody. I'm a little sick of music videos but this was alright. 3/5

Sean The Floor Leader- This character was pretty funny. I think after a while, it will get annoying but it was still good. 3/5

QVC--- This was awesome!!! Already, Gillian Vigman fits. The writing was fantastic and the chemistry betwen the women showed clearly. This was one of the best sketches so far this season. 5/5

Romance Therapy--- This was good. A good use of a guest star for once...reminded me of a season 1 or 2 sketch. 3.5/5

Red Carpet w/ Mo and Paul--- This was much better than The Fighting Temptations one. Although it would be nice if more people would talk to MADtv for once, Mo and Paul made up for it. Paul didn't annoy in this...a matter of fact, he should have tried to be MORE outgoing because I think he'd be great at this if he did.

Affleck Insurance--- THis was short and sweet and had a nice ending to it. The duck was great too! 3.5/5

Encore: Hooked On Phonics--- I don't understand why they're using encores so early into the season when good sketches have been getting cut...what's going on here? A good choice at least. 3/5

Closing--- This was alright. 3/5

OVERALL--- This was the best episode this season and probably better than most if even all from last season. Nothing bombed here and there were soe great master pieces as well. The QVC parody was the highlight of the evening. I look forward to having both Daniele and especially Gillian as perminants next season, hopefully. I think this episode deserves a 9/10. Congratulations.

I agree.. Daniele and Gillian fit perfectly They remind me of Jill, which means only good things They're definitely the way to go versus Christina.
As for the other two, when they come.. here's hoping they're good. Aries Spears, even if the impressions are often generic (although not giving him any damn make-up doesn't help).. he's funny and I *WOULD* miss him if Jordan Peele replaced him. Hopefully, Jordan is just a second black guy.. Aries is good but he needs help with some of the black roles.

The Olive Garden - The characters were funny, especially Mo. My only problem with it was that the food looked nothing like what the Olive Garden actually serves...Ritz Crackers? The stuff about the breadsticks being the best part of the meal was too true, though. It was a pretty funny parody.

Boy Meets Goy - This was hilarious. Michael was SO damn funny and Josh sounded and looked exactly like the real guy on the show. Thumbs WAY up on this one. This was the best sketch in this episode, by far.

Kobe Music Video - Blah. Just blah. This was the only really bad portion of the episode. Aries was bland.

Sean The Floor Leader - I really liked this new character. I thought this was supposed to be Ron Pederson's new recurring character, though. Michael was the funny one. I wouldn't mind seeing the character again. He was sharp with his insults and quite funny.

QVC: Plus Size Fashion - Funny stuff here. My favorite line was the one about how eating a cracker didn't count because she put laxatives on it. Mo was especially funny here.

Romance Therapy - This was reminiscent of something that could have easily been in one of the early seasons. It was good.

MADtv at the Emmys - This was much better than last week's red carpet segment with Aries and Ike. It always works better to have a male and a female. Not as good as Will & Alex or Debra doing these segments, but still very funny.

Affleck Insurance - Well, it was short. Wasn't too funny, but okay.

MADtv Encore: Hooked On Phonics - Blah. I liked this the first time I saw it, but it seemed too recent and it was dull as an encore. Oh well. I still wish that they would play older sketches as opposed to something from the end of the previous season.

Closing: More at the Emmys - They should have just included all of this in the segment itself, but it was okay.

OVERALL - It wasn't as good as last week's, but it was still pretty funny. So far this season has been an improvement from last year and I hope it stays that way. I don't know why everyone is making such a fuss over Gillian and Danielle though, I don't think that either of them have done anything too memorable as of yet. I don't have an opinion on them at this point, I'll have to see how they do as the season goes on. I thought that the stand out cast member in this episode was Michael. He was excellent in every one of his appearances. Good stuff, once again. Hopefully things will stay this good. The only sketch that bombed was the Kobe one, the rest was at least decent.

Finally got around to seeing the episode...

The Olive Garden: Italian family and a black girlfriend. They make fun of how un-italian the food really is. I thought this was only ok and the lines were also ok.

Boy Meets Goy: Parodying Boy Meets Boy show. Anyways, the only thing remotely funny was Andra saying, "that's bull****" and running around and getting lost in the set. Seemed to drag to me.

Kobe Music Video: This is about the Kobe Bryant case. Too long and not really funny. Next...

Sean The Floor Leader: For some reason this reminds me of the male version of a Vancome Lady, but really messed up. I liked the one-liners that Sean would give. I'm kinda mixed about this character, b/c a lot of the name-calling was childish.

QVC: Plus Size Fashion: Mo yellow at the twigs were so funny, and I swear that both Gillian and Stephnie were holding their laughter. I like when they have sketches where they show a mess-up. The fat snaps are a bit outdated, but it was my favorite sketch of the night.

Romance Therapy: WHOA (you gotta see it to get what I mean)!!! That's all I can say. I don't think it was that funny, but actions spoke louder than words. Still a pretty good sketch.

MADtv at the Emmys: I'm starting to get tired of these red-carpet sketches. This is the 2nd one of this season and this is only the third episode. Although, there were some good moments, like most of the cast of Friends not talking to Mo and Paul.

Affleck Insurance: A play of words. Affleck vs. AFLAC. Felt like an AFLAC commercial. Just ok.

MADtv Encore: Hooked On Phonics: This sketch was out of place and was a bit outdated.

Closing: More at the Emmys: Another one of these red-carpet closings? Man...

I am going to disagree with most people about this episode. I think this was a mediocre episode compared to the first two of the season. I thought that there was a lack of sharp writing in most of these sketches.

No I didn't. I wasn't even home (so I didn't capture live as I did the previous two times), and my god forsaken VCR ate the tape it was supposed to record on. I tried to fix it as best as I could, but I barely got to see like half of the Olive Garden sketch (which was hilarious BTW) and then it cut off.

I need a new VCR, this one has had enough miles of tape roll thru it recording the past 7 seasons of MADtv during last year's reruns on a local tv station, as well as season 8.

Martin, you only have one VCR in your house?? Man, we have like 5 VCRs in my house (one in all bedrooms, living room, and basement). I couldn't live with just one VCR.

Yeah I do have more VCR's, but i only set mine to record MADtv. The other VCR's are in other rooms and other family members constantly screw around with them. Lucky for me though a friend taped the show too, so I watched it late yesterday. It was a very good episode.

Tttcha...5 VCR's, okay there. You should widen your door frames a little so your family can get up and out once in a while.
