I was shocked by this. IMO he kind of seemed like the leading male on the show the past couple of years. With one year left in his contract you think they would have kept him. I'm happy none of the female cast members got cut, they are all on point and have been since they were hired.

The reason why Taran Killam was let go from his SNL contract was because of issues of his filming of the movie Why We're Killing Gunther, which would conflict and limit his appearance on SNL.

Not only that, but Jay Pharoah and Jon Rudnitsky have also left.
