Default Taking classes at Second City

Starting next week I'm going up to chicago every saturday for about 8 weeks to take an improv class through Second City. I'm so excited! Has anybody here ever taken theese classes I'm taking the teen improv course. I just thought I'd share a little piece of exciting information in my boring little life!

Anger and resentment can stop you in your tracks. That's what I know now. It needs nothing to burn but the air and the life that it swallows and smothers. It's real, though - the fury, even when it isn't. It can change you... turn you... mold you and shape you into something you're not. The only upside to anger, then... is the person you become. Hopefully someone that wakes up one day and realizes they're not afraid to take the journey, someone that knows that the truth is, at best, a partially told story. That anger, like growth, comes in spurts and fits, and in its wake, leaves a new chance at acceptance, and the promise of calm. Then again, what do I know? I'm only a child.

Wow, you're lucky... I wish there was something like that around here... closest I can get to that is a Shakespeare Theatre Group in Stratford
Best of Luck!

I would absolutely love to do Shakespeare, it's just so great. That would be my dream, to be part of a Shakespeare company and perform his beautiful plays.
My city doesn't have a big theatre scene at all, which is very sad considering we have a population of 500,000.
But good luck MaDtv4eVer!, that sounds like it's going to be a lot of fun and some good experience for you.

Oh you're so lucky. I want to go to Second Citi but it's to far away from where I live. And I'm not even old enough to drive yet....legally.

Don't get me wrong... I have lots of fun doing it (Shakespeare was a very funny guy ) Its just improv is more what I want to do career-wise.

Exactly. *high five each other* Improv is more my cup of coffee or tea or water. (I dont drink coffee or tea) It's more fun and no rules and no lines to memorize.

Yeah thats real mature. At least back up any rude statements like that... Is it maybe because its boring to you? or too old? or too intelligent for you? If the latter I suggest you look at the painting of "we three"

To each their own I guess. But I do feel that I have to stick up for Shakespeare because a lot of people do hate his works, perhaps they don't understand how intelligent or funny it really is. The language is hard to get around and that's probably the reason for most people, but if you read enough of Shakespeare's work you really get used to it.

I have no problem with shakespeare...with the way my english teacher describes it, i find it insanely humourous...but it in no way helps the way my mind thinks...it infact makes it worse...and let me tell you...my mind was pretty bad before we started shakespeare...

Lol, I'm sure it was Mxz
We had to do Shakespeare for year 12 and literally everyone complained about it while I was secretly happy about it. My English teacher (who is Canadian and very sweet) tried to make it fun for them, but I don't think she succeeded.
