One season featured player Gillian Vigman is the latest in a long list of MADtv alumni to be cast in a TV show pilot up for consideration for the 2005-2006 season. Here is the outline for "Son's and Daughters" from TheFutonCritic.com:

Family is always unpredictable, so why write a family comedy when you can live dangerously and improvise instead? Like real families, you never know what will happen when you give characters total freedom. Leading this three-ring family circus is Executive Producer Lorne Michaels, the comedy veteran behind the long-running Saturday Night Live. CAST: JERRY LAMBERT, GILLIAN VIGMAN, FRED GOSS, ALISON QUINN, DESMOND HARRINGTON, CARRIE ENGLISH.

Sounds like another good one, heres hoping it makes it to air.

EDIT: It was picked up on ABC for the Fall... YAY I betcha it's great.

Mid-Season

Adult siblings Cameron, Sharon, and Jenna have many years of shared history in this small town that includes many mistakes. This is proved by the multiple marriages and many children in their close extended clan. Sharon's postponed her mid-life crisis for the sake of her kids but her sexless marriage and slacker son don't make things easy for her. Jenna, the youngest, wanted to be a singer, but instead is a single mom who still lives at home. Luckily her parents love babysitting their grandson. Middle child Cameron, despite having kids from two marriages is the glue that holds the family together. With all the messy interpersonal relationships, rivalries and religious differences, everyone needs someone to be the family's designated driver.

Leading this three-ring family circus is Executive Producer Lorne Michaels, the comedy veteran behind the long-running Saturday Night Live.

I saw several commercial spots for this show last night during Grey's Anatomy, but I didn't pay attention to when it was premiering... Anybody know?

Oh no... I forget the premiere date! I really really wanna see it.

Not just because of Gillian.... And not because the improv sitcom is awesome (it is though) and not because the young girl in the commercial says hilarious stuff but it's all because of...

Amanda Walsh!!!! She is in it and I am effing excited!! Foir all of you people who are confused..
Amanda Walsh was a VJ for Muchmusic (Canada's answer to MTV) a few years ago and left to pursue acting. And she clearly made it! I'm seriously so proud of her for getting on to an ABC primetime sitcom.
Anyways... that is all for now. I know it premieres sometime in February.

Hey cool! I never knew she was going to be on this! She was really funny on MM... just another reason to watch I guess

The show is centered on Goss’ character Cameron, who is happily married to his second wife, Liz (Gillian Vigman, who was a regular member of the “Mad TV” cast). They have three children.

I saw a little bit too. It reminded me a lot of Arrested Development...or the few episodes I saw of it.
