Vud #1-Tongue: This was sort of funny. Not too hilarous but still a good thing considering it was the first ever ep.

Vancome Lady- Make-up Counter: I LOVED this sketch, it was very funny and although Nicole still hadn't reall perfected this character, you could tell there would be good things to come from her.

Ice Cube/Ice-T Video:I didn't like this. I didn't really enjoy the impressions that well and the whole premise was just lost on me.

News Report 911: FUNNY STUFF MAN! I enjoyed this one I had tears.

Spy Vs Spy-Bomb: How I miss these

Don Martin- Camping: I dont remember thisone

Nicole's Monologue: This was funny

Gump Fiction: Funny to a point

Spike Lee Red Devil Ham: BORING

Kato Tells All: BORING

Poison: This was alright

Dave's Monologue: I Didn't like that

Spy Vs Spy- Pogo Stick: Loved this

Second Hand Cancer:FUNNY STUFF Mary and Nicole did a great job together

Debra's Monologue: FUNNIEST THING OF THE NIGHT

Default Re: WHO/WHAT 101

Hmm I haven't done a review in a little while. I think it would be appropriate to do one for the first episode ever!

Cast Search: I loved this! If I remember correctly, All That did something similar to this in one of their season openers. Still, this was great, hah I liked how Debra and Nicole were prostitutes . Why wasn't Bryan Callen included in this? 5/5

Cast Open: This was great! 5/5

Vud #1: Tongue: Haha! This was so awesome! The frogs looked so real! How did they do this? It didn't look like animation. 5/5

Vancome Lady: Make-up Counter: I enjoyed this very much. You can tell that Nicole didn't fully develop the character yet, but it's ok, because she was still very good. 5/5

Music Video: Ice-T & Ice Cube "It Ain't Easy Being Me": Gahh... This was pretty boring.. But it was a good music video I guess. 3/5

Vancome Lady: 911 Operator: Oh my God this was so funny! Haha! Great idea! 5/5

Spy Vs Spy: Bomb: I will now rate every single Spy Vs. Spy the same thing. 5/5 Because I love them dearly and I love reading it in MAD magazine too. The animation was such good quality back then, too.

Kato Kaelin Reminder #1: Nahh.. I won't rate the reminders because I don't really count it as a sketch, IMO. But still it was a waste of time. And who is that person anyway?

Don Martin: Camping: It was okay, the thing I enjoyed most about it was the quality of the animation of course.. I shall rate all of these sketches 4/5.

Nicole Sullivan's Monologue (Nicole): Go Nicole! Hehe she's funny and I liked all the things she was doing. 5/5

Gump Fiction: Hehe this was okay, but I think it dragged a little bit too long. 4/5

Spike Lee Red Devil Ham: Ahh.. this was alright I guess. 3/5

Kato Kaelin Reminder #2: Yawn. Thats all I have to say.

Kato Tells All: Still don't know who this is.. boring. Waste of time. 0/5

MTV's Spend A Week With Poison Contest: This was funny! Hahaha! Pretty basic idea, but you have to remember that this was in 1995, .

Dave Herman's Monologue: I happened to enjoy this. Haha they made a pretty good team up there. Good idea too. 5/5

Spy Vs Spy: Pogo Stick: 5/5 like I said.

Second Hand Cancer: Wow this was a good idea now. It was pretty short too. If SNL did this sketch, they probably would have dragged it on for another 2 minutes. 5/5

Debra Wilson's Monologue: BEST MONOLOGUE OF THE NIGHT! Man that was good! GO DEBRA! 5/5 Extra Credit: 2 points.

MacDumpsters: Good premise. At first I thought it was a Coffee Commercial Parody. LOL. 4/5

Don Martin: Out of Gas: 4/5

Star Trek Deep Stain Nine: Hehe.. All That did a bunch of sketches similar to these, which I enjoyed too. Debra and Nicole only had about two lines in this.. 4.5/5

Vud #2: Watch Out: Just as good as the other one! 5/5

Artie Lange's Monologue: Hehe, pretty good. 4/5

Close: Beer All Gone: The premise needed work, because why would the whole audience go if they were out of beer? Before he said that the audience was holding up their cups and they probably still had some. But it was ok overlooking that matter. 4/5

I loved this episode, I think I'm going to give it a 9.5/10 stars!

this was a good episode to say it was their first... That "real MAD kid" (from the mag) that they kept showing (like on the side of the street, and in the washing machine)... He really freaked me out. I dont know why, but he did .

Again, I know its their 1st episode, but the opening credit theme was not my favorite. My favorite is the one that they use now (seasons 8-9)

I just saw 101 on thursday. I can safely say Mad TV was a lot different when it first aired. It was better then it is now. I loved the Vancome lady sketch and the Vancome 911 sketch. I really miss Nicole and Phil.

Hello, boys and girls, welcome to "MADtv" 101; I am Prof. Mizzi Mad. Today, we will be discussing the very first ep of "MADtv" and its influence on contemporary society. Now, before we get started, Melissa, get rid of the gum, young lady; we've had this talk before. Philcosby, I will wipe that smirk off your face permanently if you don't stop, young man. HiVolt, we all know how proud you are of your autographed Nicole Sullivan pics, but I want them out of sight...now, mister! All right, Jim Cockhurtz, that's the last spitball--you march yourself to Mister E's office right now! Potora, go with him to make sure that he doesn't take a detour to the restroom. Eyes on me, folks...right up here. Theeeeeere we go.

*Mizzimad wakes up from his horrid nightmare.*

Whew, what happened? Oh, God, I gotta remember not to put banana peels in my apple bong ever again. O.K., well, for those of you who are still brave enough to pay attention, here's my take on "MADtv" 101--the episode, not the aforementioned Alfred E. Neuman Univ. course. Hmmm, well, as much as I've come to cherish the first 2 seasons of "MADtv," I have to admit that ol' Alf E.'s debut ep is a bit of a hit-and-miss affair. *Diehard fans who swear by the first season reach for their torches and machetes.* However, the good news is that the hits do indeed outweigh the misses. At least I think so; then again, I'm an uberdoof, so.....

First, the bad news: (1) Kato Kaelin's bit is veeeeeeeeery obvious and therefore not veeeeeeeeery funny. (Someone loves repeated vowels.) (2) While the Ms. Barone bit w/ Nicole is quite funny and well performed, those who gross out easily should consider themselves duly warned. (3) A couple of sketches--the "Star Trek" bit and the Gump Fiction movie parody--sound funnier than they actually are. (Better parodies were to come!) (4) Three "Spy vs. Spy" cartoons are about two too many for yours truly. I prefer the "Don Martin" bits, but that's just me, I guess. (5) I love Diva Debra to death, but her monologues have never been my fave Deb moments. Give me Bunifa, Oprah, and Ms. Sylvia; or give me...uh...well, not death.

<--Hey, hey, I saw that, philcosby. Does somebody want a trip to Mister E.'s office? I didn't think so. Anyhoo, where was I? Oh, yeah, huh huh...

O.K., now for the pluses: (1) The Vancome Lady bits, predictably enough, are hilarious if somewhat tame compared w/ the much less p.c. Vancome sketches that would follow. (2) The Vudwiser and McDumpster commercial parodies are right on the money. (That means they're good, dumbass!) (3) The "cast search" and cast opening are very entertaining, esp. the former, during which Nic and Deb make their debuts in Alfredville as hookers--hardly befitting future "MADtv" royalty, eh? (4) Artie's and David H.'s monologues LITERALLY kick ass. (Thx to Nic & Mc, I LITERALLY can't get this word outta my head...lol.) (5) Nicole's monologue about her rather disturbing intro to MAD magazine more than lives up to its rep as one of THE legendary Sully moments in Alfredville. BTW, if you've never heard the lips-barely-moving neurotic voice that Nic uses in this and a couple of later sketches, then don't you dare call her overrated until you've heard it--it's LITERALLY (AAAAAARGH!) to die for! As for those of you who've heard the voice and still think she's overrated...um...well...I, uh...I guess it's okay if you still call her overrated. I'll hate you for the rest of your life, but...hehehehehe...whatever....

God, I love ellipses...they come in handy...quite often...ya know.

Anything I've left out of the above rant falls into the "just okay" category for yours untruly. However, "okay" isn't bad; it's okay, okay? Therefore, heretofore, two-by-four, and quoth-the-raven-"nevermore," all things having been considered and weighed in truly *ahem!* scientific fashion, I give "MADtv" 101 a 4/5 rating.

Class dismissed b/c tchaaaaaa, it's time for me to shut the f**k up anyway. Your homework: to ignore all of the above. Ah, an easy assignment for a change!

Now, now, no one likes a tattletale, son...well, except me, of course...hehehehehe. Actually, I asked Melissa if she'd like to share her note w/ the class, and this was her response:

I'm taking that as a "no."

does anyone have a link to a MacDumpsters video? I saw that sketch when it first aired and i had it on tape. I haven't been able to find this video in forever and would love to see it again. Thank you very much
