Default Lindsay Lohan

This album is really good. "Speak" is probably the best song on it. I know Lindsay Lohan dosen't have much singing talent but I give her credit for making an album where ALL THE SONGS ARE GOOD(unlike her competitors Avril Lavigne, Kelly Clarkson and Ashlee Simpson who's albums are cheaply done with only a few good songs...if any.) and she made a new style of music "dance rock".

Didn't "older" musicians like Duran Duran, U2, Beck, No Doubt, Moby, and Garbage experiment with "dance-rock" years before Avril Lavigne, Hilary Duff, Pink, Michelle Branch, Kelly Clarkson, Ashlee Simpson, Lindsay Lohan, etc. EVER became popular?

When I say "dancerock" I mean like a cross between Britney Spears and one of those "older bands".

Still, it's all been done before. A ton of dance artists came before Britney, most notably Madonna and Janet Jackson. Over the years, many mainstream rock acts began injecting these same R&B/dance/pop elements into their overall guitar-driven sound.

U2 did it on their 1997 Pop album.
Duran Duran did it on their 1993 album.
Garbage did it on their first two albums.
Beck did it many times on numerous albums, such as Mellow Gold, Odelay, Mutations, and Midnight Vultures.
No Doubt did it on their 2001 Rock Steady album.
Even Jewel did it on her last album in 2003.
Heck, even Pink did it on her Mizunderstood and Try This albums.

So mixing danceable rhythms and guitar pop-rock is nothing new. It may sound strange, but you can do a lot with today's studio recording technology.

Lindsay Lohan didn't CREATE any new genre of music. Even if her music were new and different, which I don't think it is, she's just an image used to sell music that someone else created. Sure it says she "contributes" in writing some of the tracks, but it's really the team of professional songwriters that is behind all of her music, as well as most of the "artists" like her. It's not hard to be a mediocre singer when you have a whole team of producers backing you.

Regardless, it's cool that you like her Pat. I know that you hate No Doubt, who I'm obsessed with. To each his own.

I don't usually go for this kind of music, but I love the track Speak. It's a nostalgia esque kind of feeling for me when I hear it. I prefer Lindsay in movies though.
