[MADtv] MADtv at the 2004 Billboard Music Awards

The MADtv cast will be "special guest stars" at the 2004 Billboard Music Awards. The show airs live Wednesday December 8th at 8/7c on FOX. Bands scheduled to perform are Evanescence, Green Day, Gwen Stefani, Keith Urban with Sheryl Crow, Nelly, Usher, Mary J. Blige and more. Be there or be square!

The cast of Fox sketch comedy series "MADtv" will be seen in spoof segments dubbed "Billboard Request Live" throughout the show. Viewers can expect comical impersonations of such celebrities as Ja Rule, Ludacris, Anna Nicole Smith and Clay Aiken, among others.

I started watching this and I quickly got annoyed with Ryan Seacrest so I changed the channel so I didn't see the MAD cast. I'm waiting for Big in '04 to come on so I can see Mo's "blink and you'll miss it" comment.

except when Ryan treated Stephanie like a dog, and said, "wow u really look like her, god just sit down"

i felt bad, but it could've been part of the bit....

I taped the show and saw all of the MAD stuff. Mike as Simon Cowell was the best. I bet they had a final segment ready, but since the show ran over it was cut.

Something I noticed...the end credits listed the entire cast, even those that didn't appear. They mispelled Ike's name...'Berenholtz', and they put 'Keegan-Michael Kay'. Also, Frank's name was completely missing from the list, even though the other missing cast members (Ike, Paul, etc.) were all there. Maybe Frank quit all of a sudden for some reason. Or they just don't care enough about him to put him on the list.

It was just those 3 that were missing, but that's weird how they put those 2 and not Frank though.

Maybe he read my comments in the "Cast Member That Deserves More Airtime" thread and quit. With him being the impressions guy, in an all-impressions thing, he didn't appear. I'm sure they're someone he could have impersonated.

Notice how, with the exception of Kathy Griffen because she was there, they didn't make fun of any stars there. I thought it would have been great if Nicole did an Ashlee Simpson or a Britney, but guess not.

One final note about this year's Billboard Awards:

I read a TV column in the USA Today newspaper today, And it said the Billboard Music Awards got it's lowest ratings ever in the 15 years that FOX has aired the show. If you are wondering the first year the show premiered was in 1990. And even more embarassing, The ESPN Made for TV movie about famed NASCAR racer Dale Earnhardt simply called "3" got more viewers in it's premiere airing than the awards did "3" days earlier.

Somehow maybe people were already tuckered out from watching the American Music Awards and VH1's Big in '04.
