I love Mad. I've been reading the magazine since I was 7. I am now 44.
Mad helped me get through many depressing years in my life. Today, I still look forward to my new subrsciption every month and never miss a show. And, I am so emotionally high now, it's hard to explain. I no longer need Mad, because I am no longer depressed. I now want Mad because it's there and I love it. I am so happy again, because I am growing hair again after being bald for 20 years. No B.S. It makes me want to run to the top of a mountain and scream "I am growing hair again" Thank you Mad for being there when I needed you and being here now when I want you. My latest pics |

It's good stuff. 20 years later I still get a kick out of folding the
back page for the secret message. Kenb |

Here is another true MAD story from my life.
When I was in the fourth grade, my parents were seperated. They finally got divorced. Anyway, once when my dad was visiting, I gave him a form from a MAD pocket book with all the other MAD pocket books I wanted to order. I am not sure if they even make MAD pocket books anymore. He told me he would get them for me. Well I waited and waited. My parents got divorced. I still waited and waited, but the books never showed. I never forgot about it, but never asked him about it. I guess I did not want to know he did not care enough to get them for me. It was one of those things I thought about on and off for 30 years. Well, my dad died about 4 years ago. As he was on his death bed, (He would die six day later), I asked what had happened to the MAD pocket books he was going to order for me. He told me he had no idea what I was talking about. I should've popped him right then. Instead, I said never mind, it was no big deal. Goes to show you, often what your afraid to hear is what you're going to hear. |

My wife thinks the only reason I still subscribe to MAD is to make
up for the fact my dad never got those books. She's wromg. I still subscribe because I enjoy MAD now just like I did when I was a kid. It's the exact same to me. What did your dad do to drive you to MAD? |
