Default What is so funny about Ike Barinholtz?
I've noticed a little bit of hype about Ike Barinholtz lately. I'm just wondering what it is that his fans see in him. I'm not trying to be mean but I just don't find him that funny at all...he almost seems to have no personal style like most cast members do.

Could Ike fans please tell me what it is that make you his fan because I just don't get it? Please don't say "his looks" ladies because that's not what I'm asking?

Yeah im wondering about that too, I dont really find him that funny either. It doesnt really seem he can work by himself in a sketch although there was one sketch "News Retractions" I think it was called from memory which was ok i guess but it seemed to get more laughs from the audience than it deserved. For this reason I cant really see him pulling off a funny recurring character or impression that could be used in multiple sketches. I hope i am proved wrong though, but we will see...

I remember reading an article on Ike (or something) saying that he doesn't like doing recurring characters. I think he prefers improv. Whatever his excuse is, I barely find him funny. He has his moments, but my guess is that he is around just because Josh is around, and they're supposed to be some great comedic duo. I haven't experienced their comedy.

Ike reminds me too much of Jimmy Fallon on SNL. Their brand of humor nearly parallel each other. Both Ike and Jimmy try too hard to get laughs from audiences that they come off looking like dorky goofballs. Ike needs to put more maturity and sophistication in his comedy. But I doubt it will happen, since comedy doesn't seem to come naturally to him.

I kind of like Ike now. Since he started to do more things WITHOUT Josh - he seems better off.

I couldn't stand Ike at first.. he got better as season eight went on, but I knew if he was going to be hired for season nine it's because (the much funnier) Josh was going to be.

He's surprised me. Don't get me wrong, he can still be annoying sometimes.. but, I dunno.. I've actually liked him lately.

turn this into the " Bash Ike " thread, but, what the heck, only live once, right? LOL...

I do not find Ike funny. Since I am a heterosexual male, I dont find Ike attractive. IMHO, Ike Barinholtz adds nothing to MO TV. Then again, neither does Ron Petersen, Josh Meyers, or Jordan Peele.

Ike prefers improv, huh? Well, all I got to say Ike is I prefer Aries Spears and Bobby Lee... improv your way on out... don't let the door knob hitcha' where the Good Lord splitcha'... and take Josh and Ron and Jordan with you...

I think I must continue the trend in this thread, to say that I have a mixed opinion about Ike as well. It seems like his performance is always forced, like he had to learn it 10 times over. I dont know why, but maybe because of his voice, it does not sound natural when he does most sketches. Its like he's reading from a teleprompter sometimes... I still don't dislike him, but I'm about halfway there.

I also have mixed opinions. Most of his characters seem loud and obnoxious, so i guess i automatically think hes that way in real life (you know, like confusing him with his characters) I know I shouldn't but I can't help it... I guess I'd have to meet him in real life

I agree that Ike is doing better nowthat he is doing things without josh. But Ike is funny. At first i found him annoying, and i hated heis eyes,lol. But yeah..i think hes funny.

I don't like Ike..I dunno it's just that whenever he does a sketch..it seems like he's forcing the lines out, and puts WAY too much enthuziazum in em'. (thats how I spell enuziazum no S..just Z..enthuzzzzzzzzzziazum.)

I"d have to say that you just love to BASH ... I still think that you must have banged your head too hard on a turnbuckle, because you just don't know about talent or funny . And that's as nice as I can be

Though I do think he'd be better on Whose Line is it Anyway if he loves doing improv.
