Default Does MADtv have a cult following?

Think about it. Until late December/early January, the show really didn't get a lot of promotion, but it was still popular enough to last nine years. So, does the show have a cult following?

...

What do you think?

Cult following? You mean like Trekkies for Star Trek? I doubt it. This forum is probably as close to a cult following on the internet as it gets.

Before anyone else responds, let me make something clear: I was just wondering because the amiannoying.com page for MADtv said that the show had a cult following. And, no, not like Star Trek. And someone the American Beauty thread said that a cult classic is something that's not very promoted, but gets popular by word of mouth. I was just wondering if that applied to MADtv. I hope I cleared everything up.

I voted the sexy one simply because it reminded me of this: http://www.potterpuppetpals.com/sexy.swf

But no, I wouldn't call it a cult, but I think some of the fans are really close, for the most part.

I think so. When I wrote MADtv's resume for AmIAnnoying.com, I put it's cult following as one of the reasons it's not annoying. This forum shows what a big following it had before CC made everyone else take notice.

That was YOU? Well, good job. I'm glad it was you instead of some MAD-bashing faggot (excuse my language) And you're damn right the show is extemely underrated!! But what did you mean by, "The humor changed DRASTICALLY [emphasis on drastically] changed after the third season"?

I meant that the show is, in a way, not the same one it was in 1995. The humor then relied less on celebrity-bashing and more on strange and funny situations. Besides, don't take that site so seriously. It's a joke.
