When it comes time to renting Christmas DVD movies w/ the fam, don't forget to pick up a copy of "Elf" w/ Artie as a dept. store santa, soon available on DVD... it sounds good.

Oh dear - the Battered Liver Tour says it all. Howard Stern cronies Artie Lange, Bob Levy and Sal the Stockbroker bring their own brand of humor to Hartford in this stomach-churning mantra to all things drink. Self-proclaimed partyboy, Lange (pictured), incredibly unknown until he landed the gig on Stern, will leave you in pure amazement as he sinks Jack and water after Jack and water, oh and by the way, he tells jokes along the way. I know. I didn't know that either until I watched it in school and saw him. Then I turned to my friend and I was like, "That's Artie Lange!" and then my friend looked confused.

I bought Mad TV season 1 on DVD last week and have been enjoying the series (having never seen it previously) but Im a bit confused about Artie Lange.

He appears in the opening credits for every show yet only does a tiny fraction of the sketches that everyone else does. Plus in some of the parts between sketches where the entire cast are saying hello, goodbye or linking something, he doesnt appear along side the others.

I did a quick search to get some background on the various cast members from season 1 and came across this rather strange site:

Apprently Artie was fired from Mad TV (for reasons Ive not yet discovered) and is now on a crash course towards certain death

Anyone know why he features only briefly in the 1st season of Mad TV and why he eventually got kicked off the show?

He was fired because he had an outburst on the producers while under the influence.
