The RIAA & MPAA are the devil. They are the source of all this controversy over the years, with high CD & movie prices.

They will never win against the people who are determined, the RIAA takes one step forward in eliminating music piracy, and the scene takes 3 steps back and laughs in their face.

Thumbs Down

The RIAA can kiss my ass. It's their own fault we can't afford purchasing their heavily overcharged albums left and right.

Yeah. It's seems that many regular chatters have been missing in action lately. I guess eveyone's been too busy with school. But school should be over by now.

Default Sucks to be this girl

I read this on another forum... I'll just quote the whole thing:

Quote:
OC: The RIAA Says "Drop Out Of College" To One Of Their New Victims
Normally, I ignore anything related to MTV, including the news they put out, but this article that was sent to me by my best friend has me completely convinced that the people in the RIAA are nothing but heartless, money-grubbing bastards:

RIAA Rep Encourages Downloader To Drop Out Of College

Quote:
Like many of the thousands of other people who've been sued by the Recording Industry Association of America for allegedly downloading music illegally, 20-year-old Cassi Hunt is in no position to pay off thousands of dollars in fines.

But the advice a RIAA representative gave the sophomore physics major at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology didn't really sound reasonable: Drop out and get a job or switch to a cheaper community college.

First off, why can't they make a payment plan for her, like a car company? You know, take what she owes, and divide it up over so many years, then make her pay a certain amount per month. Not only would they be getting all of their money without looking like bloodthirsty savages hellbent on getting their almighty penny, but they'd make it easier on this poor girl. Yeah, so she downloaded music illegally. Embarrassing her and making her pay for it is enough, but then suggesting she should quit MIT (which, for those who aren't familiar, is one of the most prestigious schools in the country) because they can't get the money from her.

Second off, this girl has only around 200 or so music files that they're charging her with having, according to the article, yet they want her to pay approx. $3,750. If they were decent individuals and they sued her for the price a song generally is (around $1 a piece), they'd only sue her for around $200. But at the price they're suing her for a 1875% profit of what they should be getting!

Sadly, I think that the RIAA's gonna win this one. I feel bad for this girl.

Let's hope the RIAA change their minds when they hear news about this story.

God i hate the RIAA. Good thing they are making sure that all these multi-millionaire recording artists get every last dollar they can by suing college students and children. What an honorable group they are

Default Hey, Hey, Hey, F*** the RIAA!

Everybody sing it!

Whoever's in charge of the RIAA deserves a special spot reserved for him in Hell, right next to the super-high unreachable cupcake table... and Britney Spears' newest video playing non-stop for all eternity.

I hope every member of the RIAA's legal team gets into a debilitating but completely avoidable car accident on their way to pick their children up from soccer practice.
