You caught it already? Wow, you must be an X-files fan. I grew up watching it, but I don't really have the urge to catch it...

How dependent is it on the storyline of the X-Files? I'm a new fan of the X-Files but I haven't had enough time to get through the whole series or the first movie. I'm about 3/4 the way through season 4 of 9.

I heard it's not part of the mytharc, but more like the Monster-Of-The-Week episodes. So people can watch it as a standalone film. Correct me if I'm wrong, though.

God damnit I hate Monster-of-the-Week episodes. I'm almost tempted to skip them all together.

It was good! Especially if you're a fan ( like me lol). Unfortunately it isn't doing very well at the box office due to it running against The Dark Knight and Mama MIA!, but despite that they are already in the talks of doing XF3.
