Juno
kicking it with 4 oscar noms

Ellen Page - Best Actress
Jason Reitman - best director
Diablo Cody - Best Original Screenplay
Best Picture

WOWS
i didn't think it'd get nominated for ANY awards. While i'd like to be optimistic about its chances,i just don't think there be any wins.

Feh, better not be. It was a pretty good movie but there were WAY too many really great movies this year for it to have made the list IMHO.

Also, in a semi-related note, I am going to burn my local theater down if they don't start playing There Will Be Blood soon...

I think the hamburger phone alone was reason to nominate it for awards

To be honest, Juno winning an Oscar is like when that Hudson chick won for Dreamgirls.
I liked Hollywood back in the day when it still had class, and Bob Hope hosted the Oscars.

I finally saw Juno today. I liked it, and I didn't have any of the problems with it that Nem and Morgie had.

I didn't think it was trying too hard to be "quotable" either, though the dialogue did seem to be a little forced in the first 10-15 minutes of the movie, almost as if Diablo Cody was developing as she wrote it.

I only had two problems with it:

1) When Marc says that Juno is getting emotional because she's pregnant, I realized that she didn't really show any true symptoms of pregnancy. It was just kinda like, "Oh, I have a baby inside me."
2) When Marc and Vanessa break up, there isn't any real reason why. Brenda (Juno's stepmom) was telling Juno that he was a married man and she was overstepping her boundaries. And when he tells her he's getting a divorce, it seems like she has something to do with it, especially since they had such a connection throughout the movie. But there's no clear mention of that.

All in all, though, I really enjoyed it.
