My cable thing had him listed as well so, LOL yet another mix up of a guest that didn't appear.............(remember Macy Gray and Margret Cho anyone?)

I loved the Al Jazeera sketch, my military brother watched it with me and we both were laughin like crazy..........I didn't really like the rest of the episode with the exception of the verb sketch and the sex ed film sketch. Avril is actually a pretty decent actress person whatever LOL............

I'd give it a 5/10

The Verb Alert sketch is so far the best one to air this year

I liked a few things this week.

VerbAlert - good, Ron was great, 4/5

Death to America! - smart, funny sketch, unique BUT I DON'T want to see it AGAIN... so it better NOT become recurring, 4/5

Outtro: Death to America! - don't remember it... so it wasn't funny to me, 0/5

The Right Time to Make Love - not as good as the old one w/ Michael, 1/5

7am Condo Report: Flu Shots - fun idea, kind of tired of the stroke thing, do they think THAT is why people find it funny? If so they are w-r-o-n-g. 3/5

Outtro: 7am Condo Report - ok 3/5

Lillian Verner - Best of the Night. Paul and Simeon are so funny together and Nicole made me laugh. 5/5 (BTW, good use of a writer...)

Outtro: Lillian Verner - Nicole was so funny. 4/5

Depressed Persian Tow Truck Man: John Kerry - the ONLY DPTTM sketch I have EVER liked (well... maybe the one when Ike dressed like a woman was funny too. I don't remember what I said about it then) but I'm glad he crashed. Maybe he's dead!!! Woo hoo!! 3/5

Last Breakfast - SO STUPID! Who is he? (And don't write back and say "a writer" because I know that.) I mean, who is he to get SO MUCH air time during the show? We could have spent that time laughing at the actual CAST MEMBERS? I didn't care for him making fun of the REAL cast either. Not funny and bad form, even if he was joking. 0/5 (... BAD use of a writer.)

Musical Performance: Avril Lavigne "Nobody's Home" - not a big fan, but she was great! 4/5

Outtro: Avril Lavigne - and she was nice to Ron! 5/5

Close: Death to America! - Oh Paul... he is always funny to me. 4/5

This sucked.

Everything was predictable and has been done a million times before. The 70's sex film, 7am Condo Report, Lillian Verner, DPTTM - all of these were almost carbon copies of sketches that MADtv has done in the past. Nothing was really new or original in this episode.

I liked Avril as a guest star. It was good that they used her in both a sketch and a musical performance. Her performance actually wasn't half bad, I must admit. She sounded good and the song is easily her best that I have heard. Did anyone else notice that in the sketch she was in she was using lines from her songs as dialogue, such as "Did you think that I was gonna give it up to you?" I thought that was clever and worked well.

There was one part of this episode that had me hysterically laughing - in the Lillian Verner sketch, when Stephnie began talking about how she had 45 cats until one hung itself on her dream catcher. I was laughing so hard, that was the best line of the night.

Overall though, I did not like this episode at all.

The funniest sketches were The Depressed Persin Tow truck Driver/John Kerry sketch, the Breakfast sketch, and Avril Lavines performance. The verb sketch got annoying.

I was watching some of the season 9 episodes on Comedy Central earlier.. And I realized how much funnier seanson 9 is than season 10. I actually think season 9 was the best season yet.

I'm shocked at how many of you think this was a good episode.

The high points were Verbalert and Avril's performance....and I don't even like Avril!

The only other thing that was remotely tolerable was the 70's video, but even that is way overdone.

One of the worst episodes I've ever seen.

I agree.

The only highlights for me were the Verb Alert and The Lillian Verner Game Show

the 7 AM Condo Report was ehh and the rest of it sucked.

I really don't see why it has a 4 star rating.

Extreme difference of opinion I guess.

7am Condo Report: Flu Shots (Ron- Clifford Busley, Stephnie- Muriel Westing, Daniele- Jelly Mae Jackson, Michael- Izzadore Crosco)

Lillian Verner: The Anti-Star Wars (Michael Hitchcock [MADtv writer]- announcer: Simian Dyson, Paul, Keegan- Rudolf Puzer, Nicole- Annetta Busley, Stephnie- Gail Cinder)

Busley... that's interesting.

Post Episode Review:

VerbAlert: This was the best sketch I've seen from Ron in a long time. He totally nailed the Australian accent, his pronunciation of "attatch" (ettetch) was way too funny. I'd love to hear what Tarza thought of his accent. This sketch had a really great premise and was really well performed by Ron.

English Speaking Al Jazeera Network: This was decent, not spectacular. Ron's part was the best, but everyone else gave decent performances. I liked it much better the first time I saw it.

The Right Time to Make Love: I don't care that this was similar to past sketches, I love these Young Body Films. I've never seen what they're supposed to be parodying, but I always find them hilarious. I loved the little dance number at the beginning and the inclusion of lines from Avril's songs when she was fending off Ron's advances. I'm glad they brought these back this season.

7am Condo Report: I admit that this was one of the weaker editions of the 7am Condo Report, but I still thought this was highly amusing, regardless of the fact the the previous one aired only 4 episodes prior to this one. I'd rather have original fresh characters like this over a played out tv show parody like TRL or a character that's been done for more than 6 or 7 years. Michael's character was pretty funny, but Jelly Mae was vastly underused in this sketch. I wish they made her character more involved in these sketches.

Lillian Verner 4: This was pretty good. I think Paul is the best aspect of this segment, some of his one-liners are hilarious, esp. "I'm just gonna pretend you said something funny! AHAHAHAHA!" in this sketch. Nicole and Keegans characters, while both kind of annoying, were funny. I wish they would focus less on Simian, he was funny at first, but now I find him extremely annoying.

Depressed Persian Tow Truck Man: Um... no.

One Last Breakfast: I didn't think this was too bad. The beginning was very funny, and while the fight was pretty random, this was a well thought out and (imo) interesting sketch (even if violence is a cheap way to get laughs). I wasn't as horrified as some people seemed to be by this.

Avril performs "Nobody's Home": I was impressed. I don't hate Avril because she's a "poser" and whatnot, so maybe that's why. I'm assuming that she wasn't lip syncing, so I will say that I thought her vocals were superb. She sounded great, which is something that very few live acts can do these days.

Overall: I thought this was one of the stronger episodes so far this season. Nothing tanked apart from DPTTM, which I've never found funny (thank goodness they only did one this season) and Ron got a decent amount of spotlight, which is always good. Avril was, I'm shocked to say, a great guest star. I wouldn't mind if she guest starred on the show again.

Yep, Avril was singing Live and I was also Impressed, she used to sound pretty bad IMO, but that Acoustic performance was pretty awesome and sounded like the original "Nobody's Home"
maybe she took singing/vocal classes?

VerbAlert: This was pretty funny, but it was a little long and got REALLY annoying after a while. Not bad.
Al-Jazeera All English Speaking Arab News: I liked this. It wasn't amazing, and the concept was kind of dumb, but for some reason, I found myself laughing at it. Pretty good.
The Right Time to Make Love: Meh, I liked this the first time I saw it, but looking back, it wasn't that great. It had some funny lines, and was pretty good overall, but not amazing. ½
7am Condo Report: Flu Shots: As usual, a hilarious Condo Report. Stephnie's random strokes ALWAYS crack me up. I don't like Michael's character, though. ½
Lillian Verner Game Show: Star Wars: This was probably the best Lillian Verner besides the first one in 910(?). Just hilarious, especially Stephnie and Nicole's characters. Definite 5-star sketch.
Depressed Persian Tow Truck Man: John Kerry: Pretty boring, one of the weakest DPTTM sketches, if not THE weakest. But I liked the opening "speech" about Hillary Clinton.
Cragg: One Last Breakfast: NO. Cragg was spot on when he said "My movies are not going to be funny". Ya got that right. No stars.

Overall: This episode was pretty good overall, especially considering the 3 episodes before it (1005, 1006, 1007) were all horrible. Not excellent or anything, but pretty good. Lillian Verner was awesome, and a couple of other things (7am Condo Report, All-Jazeera) were pretty good, too. Cragg and DPTTM did bring the episode down, though, and there were a lot of recurring character sketches.

7.5/10

I was watching the performance on YouTube, yeah. Ron gives a little blurb about how he and Avril are reasons why Canada rocks.

Edit: Oh wow, I just realized I made a post about that a few years ago LOL.
