Deterioration of Recurring Characters
I was just watching the "This N That" Rusty segment with Mandy Moore from last weeks episode and i looked at Rusty and thought it looked too much like Michael McDonald. This was quite evident with most of the characters i mean i look back over the years especially at the first appearances of certain characters and they are so much different than what they later become. Kenny Rogers is a prime example, i mean that Kenny Rogers Jackass Part 2 sketch proved that to me, all i could see was Will Sasso in a grey beard and at one point he just talks in his normal voice. It might just be me blowing things outta proportion, but what do you guys think?

There's one rule in sketch comedy that applies to SNL is that you always have to be able to tell who's playing a specific character or doing a celebrity impression. One problem with the Family Feud sketches was that people couldn't tell that Will Sasso was playing Louie Anderson and they recieved many complaints about that...on the other hand SNL's make up jobs sometimes makes the people look NOTHING like the real person (Molly Shannon's Courtney Love
 ) and that didn't blow over too well with fans. So they have to find somewhere inbetween. MADtv does this very well and has one many Guild Awards to justify that! Back to topic: I feel when you "get" a character's premise and it gets tired and they can't liven it up again, the character should be an annual character (one sketch per year) or retired completely. Many of Michael's characters are getting too old now. Bunifa has good sketches for people who are new to Bunifa but Bunifa is old to me and, i get how everything bad is because she's black...stale! Reality Check can be the same way...I want something new! Put old sketches to rest while they can leave a good impression on people! Trina has gotten too weird for me now too. Here's a list of characters and what i think: -Stuart: very stale -Rusty: very, very stale -Fightin' Ron: not as stale but getting there -Marvin: Because the humour is in what he says, I think he should stay! -Mickey: even with an annual sketch; he is stale -Happy Folger: not stale at all, probably the best character on now! -Tow Truck Man: stale -Bible Dude: stale already -Trina: stale -Lorraine: physical humour never gets stale, keep her for sure! -Bambi: definitly keep for now -Bunifa: very stale -Cloret: keep for sure! -Reality Check: stale, this black humour should be folded into Real Mother******* Talk Show -Real ****ing Talk: keep for now -Angela: keep for sure -Mrs. Campbell: keep for sure -Vera Mangus: annual appearance would be great! -Dot: if some revisions were made then she should be kept -Dr. Kylie Johnson: I don't think she could go as far, maybe an annual appearance -Drama Queen: maybe an annual appearance, not that funny to me...but that's just me -Sorority Row: Keep this for sure If i'm missing someone I'll add them later... __________________ I'm actually a really nice girl in real life. |

 I also like The One where she goes wit that white guy to the movies!!! Also, were there 3 Glamazon huntreses A.D sketches? I think i remember Kathryn being Makayla.. But Then Jill was her and then that other person was Makayla when Jill left. but they were all still funny.. The same for SOrority Row (Kappa kappa Kappa) Were there only 3? cuz i have 3 starting witht he one with Cookie Nakamura.. ?
