I'm not done watching but so far I've enjoyed this episode much more than any other this season. I'll go into more detail later.

Default Urmm... Show Notes, episode 1108

  • Wow, the Black Eyed Peas wasn't about Fergies boobs. Ha, take that, Dartanian.
  • They must've filmed the Brittney/K-fed open at last night's taping. Wonder what else was that made it to air tonight.
  • Ike pronounced "Nevada" wrong. Retard.
  • That PSP commercial was kind of odd. "The nub you can play with outside" must be trying to combat the DS's "Touching is good." "Rub the nub" would've been a better choice, though.
  • First Nicole takes Star Jones, now Oprah? Damn, she's taking Danielle's impressions left and right. It won't be long before Nicole takes Danielle's characters, then her sketches, then her spot in the opening. (Yes, I know Daneille did Tyra Banks, but still)
  • As for the sketch, I honestly wouldn't be surprised if that's what really happened -- people moving the audiece from talk show to talk show,
  • They didn't play the music at the end of the Depressed Persian Tow Truck Man sketch. Aw,
  • MADtv spoofing Sesame Street. Awesome
  • Late Pat Morita jokes = NOT COOL!
  • Carrie Underwood = t3h 53xx5!!
  • Another vaguely sexual PSP commercial! They really need to stop that.
  • Speaking of stuff needing to be stopped, an American Idol Promo!
  • Wow, Lillian Verner didn't suck... that much.
  • Ah, a Foddermuckers sketch. Did they do one of these last year?
  • Why did next week's promo have a clip from this week's episode? Was the Brittney/Kevin sketch meant to air later or something?
  • If they wanted to do a closing with the whole cast, could they have at least said something besides, "Thanks for watching, good night"? Too season 7-ish

All in all, a 3.5/5. I gave it a 4 because of the Sesame Street parody, but took off half a point because of the Red Carpet. Well, rounding that out, I get... a 4/5.

I think I may be in shock.

MADtv for the first time made me ask myself halfway through "is it over yet?". I've NEVER turned a (new) episode of MADtv off before it was over, and I think I turned it off too late last night. Except for the My Slump (Arden should have played Fergie, not Nicole) and Moving Audience sketch, this episode was UNBEARABLE. (I did miss the PSP parody and the very beginning of the Sesame Street sketch) but Lillian Verner didn't make me laugh once (and those used to have me in tears from laughing), the second Jeff Garlin sketch made me want to throw up, the Brit/K-Fed sketch took a weak joke from season 10 and tried to play it out even longer, the Red Carpet sketch wasn't that amusing. As for Mofaz, I know they're trying to get him out of the tow truck but he IS the Tow Truck Man - it's like doiing Stuart without his voice, it doesn't work the same way. The monkey baby in the nursery was funny, it wasn't funny when he showed the picture of another monkey kid and then brought the baby out. And no music at the end, wtf?

This is the first MADtv episode I have watched in its entirety during it's actual time slot in a while. I'm at home sick this weekend, so yeah.

My Slump Video - Why did they have to drag George Bush into a parody of My Humps? It made no sense. I was really excited about this one too, but it sucked because it was all centered around politics instead of actually parodying the song. I kinda feel like they should give other people a chance to do some female celeb impressions, especially music ones. Nicole Parker gets all of them.

OPEN: Britney & Kevin - I like how they are back to letting characters introduce the show, although Ike's Kevin Federline was unbearable. I still think that Nicole's Britney is very mediocre, I prefer her Ashlee Simpson. But this was ok overall.

Moving Audience - This was stupid. I didn't care for Nicole RJ's Oprah at all or Ike's Orlando Bloom. I still love Nicole Parker's Ellen though, so that made it all worth it.

Mofaz: Childbirth - Eh...this character has been done too much. It was a little bit funny that his baby looked like a monkey, but overall this sketch wasn't great.

Sesame Street - I actually really liked this one. It was cleverly written for once and it was about something really relevent right now. It felt like something that MADtv would have done 6 years ago and it totally worked. Best sketch of the night for me.

MADtv at the 2005 Billboard Music Awards - I didn't like the Ike/Bobby pairing, but this was ok.

Lillian Verner: New Host - It was great to see Stephnie as Gail Cinders again, she was hilarious. I loved her monologue about her cat getting stuck in the ceiling fan. Bobby was actually pretty funny in this too and I think the sketch still worked even without Paul Vogt.

Foddermuckers: Ja Rule Jr & Crew - How many times have they done sketches with this exact same storyline? Family goes to restaurant, restaurant singers annoy them, family gets mad, restaurant singers make fun of them. This has been SO overdone on MADtv, it's not even funny. I think the last one they did was when a family went to a mexican restaurant and it was the same scenario. The highlight of this episode was when Frank's character as Nicole P's uncle kept trying to get her to come over to his house. Their chemistry was great.

Keegan Annoys Jeff Garlin - This wasn't funny at all, it was just really obnoxious.

CLOSE: Bobby & Cast - Meh, I like the cast closings but he should have said more than just "Thanks for watching, goodnight!"

OVERALL - There were a few gems here (Sesame Street, Lillian Verner), but as is the trend for season 11...a lot of it either fell flat, was just not very creative, or has been overdone way too much and is no longer funny. Ike Barinholtz was featured way too much in this episode and he is just not funny at all. If you ask me, he brings entire sketches down. A lot of the material this season makes season 7 look genius. It was not entirely bad, though. The Sesame Street sketch is definitely one of my favorites so far this season and Stephnie's brief appearance in the Lillian Verner sketch was awesome.

Nothing against MADtv but they should or any other TV sketch comedy no matter how good or bad it is should make fun of Sesame Street.

I don't think I would ever make it where I am today without the series.

Black-eyed Bush - Absolutely below par .
OPEN: Britney & Kevin - Creative, especially because I was annoyed and
entatained (that's a good thing) by Nicole as Britney.

Moving Audience - Wonderful! My sides hurt from laughing.

Depressed Tow truck man - Waste of talent and brain cells..

Sesame Street - Awful, there were no jokes.

2005 Billboard Music Awards with Bobby and Ike -It was Ok for me too.

Game Show - Mildly funny.

Foddermuckers -Genius, whoever
thought of that should get a raise! Especially whoever wrote the niece lust part.

CLOSE - Reminded me of the first 3 seasons...all right.

Review - Best episode of the Season..that's not saying much. [/B][

Default Reviewwwww

Music Video: Black Eyed Peas featuring George W. Bush "My Slump": It was an interesting way to go with the parody, but still, I think it was just an excuse to get in G.W. Nicole was good as Fergie, her moves were funny. 3.5/5

Open: Britney & Kevin Clear Everything Up: I don't like Nicole's Britney very much and absolutely hate Ike's Kevin. The only thing that got me laughing was them kissing. But hey, I always laugh when people kiss on MADtv...so slobbery. 2.5/5

Runaway Bleachers: It was pretty funny, I liked that they got in a bunch of impressions. The best was Nicole as Ellen, I sort of wish they had stopped there and made it an Ellen sketch lol. Nicole RJ shouldn't do Oprah again, she wasn't very good. Besides Ellen, the best part was when they went right on past Tyra. 3.5/5

Depressed Persian Tow Truck Driver: Another Baby: Not to be harsh or exaggerate, but I really think that Mofaz is the worst character that's ever been on MADtv. I find extremely little about him funny. However, this was the best Mofaz sketch yet, but that's not saying much. I liked that they got him out of his truck, and the ape baby bit had me laaughing. 2/5

Sesame Street: Bird Flu: This was funny. I love it when they take Bobby out of the "Asian" thing and put him in something totally random like this. I loved Crista in it too, and the songs. 3.5/5

2005 Billboard Music Awards: And now we go back to me hating Bobby. This isn't a good pair! Bring back Nicole! 3/5

The Lillian Verner Game Show: Segway: And now we go back to me liking Bobby. There was a lot of good physical humor in this episode, and Stephnie is always a good thing. I love Michael Hitchcock, but I think Simian Dyson is a very stupid character. I liked Frank as Jeff Goldblum or whatever. 3.5/5

Fuddermuckers: This was weird. It had a lot of good characters in it, and Keegan, Jordan, and Nicole RJ were funny as the carolers. Daniele didn't do much for me in this one. It eventually got annoying. 2.5/5

Ho Nuva Leva: I thought this was funny. Keegan is good at playing psycho characters (Crazy-As-Hell Guy, Coach Hines). They're not always funny, but this was a good one. "Alphatabetically, that would be correct." Haha good stuff. 4/5

Close: Bobby & Cast: Not much to say about this. 2.5/5

High Point: Ho Nuva Leva

Low Point: Mofaz the Depressed Persian Tow Truck Man: Another Baby

Write-Up: After improving for a few episodes, MAD slumped again. Most of the sketches were average or below-average. Again, this episode had way too many commerical. They need to space out the sketches better. I liked the abundancy of Crista, and Stpehnie gave the episode a boost. I'd say that there was too much Ike and Bobby again! Sadly, I actually was looking foraward to this episode ending...There's hope for next week, though.

Conclusion: 30.5/50 or 61%

I didn't get to watch the first few bits of this episode, because I had to attend a Christman party. I just got back in time to catch the Sesame Street sketch and everything else after it. From what I saw, I didn't like a majority of the material. But the Sesame Street sketch was hilarious, and I liked how they incorporated the bird flu phenomena. I wish they'd stop pairing Ike and Bobby up. Those two guys doing their thing together is just a trainwreck.

Will.I.Am -- Jordan

Apl de Ap -- Bobby

Taboo -- Keegan

Oh, and to clear up some confusion, there was no PSP parody; that was an actual commercial.

Thank you MADfan2004.

... Stuff I'm still not sure about:
- Who did Elmo's voice? Was it Frank Caliendo?
- The two old guys at the end of the sesame street sketch, were they the two old guys Statler and Waldorf from the Muppets?
- Lastly, am I missing a castmember in the Fuddermuckers sketch?

Thanks again. Two more...

- Was that Crista as Janice in the runaway bleachers sketch?

- In the same sketch, who was the wrestler?

This was probably my favorite episode this season. I don't usually laugh out loud but I was doing so during the Sesames Street sketch. It was clever and I hope they make more skits like that. The Towtruck sketch was funny too.

I didn't like the Lillian Verner sketch at all. I'm not a big fan of the skit in general, but it sucked last night

Best Episode this season by far!!! I loved every sketch and burst out laughing very often.

Music Video: Awesome video idea and execution. Everyone was great in it. Nicole was good as Fergie and at least Bush got a totally new direction for this. Frank was hilarious when he was dancing.

Open: Britney & Kevin Clear Everything Up: Sweet as well. I like it when the openings have characters or impressions. Nicole was obviously great and Ike was even funny. (When he called her slut)

Runaway Bleachers: Best concept in a long time. I loved all of the impressions. Even Nicole's Oprah was good. I think she could do Oprah more often but as long as it isn't the same ideaas Debra's. Nicole P didn't look as much like Ellen as she usually does but that doesn't really matter because as soon as you hear her, you can tell exactly who she is. I like how Ike portrayed Orlando as a huge sissy. The wrestler idea was funny and Dr.Phil bashing the audience was great. Finally, Frank as the floor director was awesome. He didn't have to say much to still be great but his energy is still way up there which is good.

Depressed Persian Tow Truck Driver: Another Baby: I liked this one too. I'm a fan of ecstacy jokes I think.... But are we supposed to assume that for his entire run on the show, Mofaz has been married to a chimp?

Sesame Street: Bird Flu: Amazing!!!! This is the edgy stuff we need in the show. Crista, Bobby and Keegan's dance number was great! I love how Bobby had the lighter too. The F-LU FLU thing was funny too. Great writing. When Frank pulled in the dead puppets I was laughing soo hard. Elmo going crazy and dying was great too. I laughed the hardest the whole night when Frank started singing(He has a good voice too) and slammed the puppets in the trash. Overall the best sketch of the season.

2005 Billboard Music Awards: I am surprised to say I liked this too. Both Bobby and Ike were good here. When he asked if those two old guys were in Green Day I was howling. It was funny to see the guy from GReen Day later on in the segment too. The Ashlee singing joke and Kevin being a dealer at the card tables were really funny too.

The Lillian Verner Game Show: It wasn't as good as some of the other LV setches but it was still great. Steph wasn't as funny with Gail this time except when she was trying to get to the buzzer. The whole segway idea was cool and that must have been hard to do. Bbby was great physically and I could not believe how amazingly accurate Frank's Jeff Goldblum was. It was amazing. Jeff kept breaking character but it was still funny. Simian was funny too becaue I love how he freaks out. I'm also a fan of them ot censoring ASS but censoring HOLE.

Fuddermuckers: Freaky ass Uncle. That could totally be a recurring character. I really like sketches that use a lot of the cast and they were all really good in this sketch. The rap at the end was funny too. Especially saying that Frank Caeti was going to get shot.

Ho Nuva Leva: Also really funny. HE could be the new Liz Goldfarb. I would love to see him freak out other cast members and guests in the future. I loved how sometimes he didn't exactly say "Whole Nother Level" and kinda slurred and made up words. Jeff was funny too, especially the no touching thing.

Close: Bobby & Cast: I think I might do my first sketch transcript on this. I still like the closings thougj.

High Point: 11:00-12:00 on fox.... The whole thing. Never a dull moment in this episode and it definately makes up for some of the less spectacular episodes this season. It seemed like a totally different show than the other episodes. The quality of the sketches was great and the cast and writers did an excellent job.
