Is it me?????? I've watched Madtv since the first season and so far season 11 has me completely baffled!! It seems like a totally different show! I was actually relieved to see Marvin Tikva because it reminded me of the “old” Madtv that I love and remember. This is seriously a much different show than all the other seasons. For any of you who say “If you don’t like it than don’t watch it.”…. I watch because I’m hoping that it will go back to the great show that is was. I’m not giving up on Madtv but I’m very depressed by the way it’s changed!

P.S. I hate the openings!!!!!

It's not just you, smithduke. This is a lost season, and this show is self-destructing before my very eyes. It's like everyone who's made this show so great for so long has completely abandoned it, if not physically, then artistically, mentally, and philosophically. I've always loved MADtv, but this is getting painful to watch.

Default Final Thought

And Now, time for my final thought:
  • Damn, Arden looked hot in that Taradise parody.
  • Too bad she looks so hideous in the opening.
  • *Lifts fists in the air* WORD LIFE!
  • William Shatner got OWNED by Candice Bergen.
  • And she's not over 60, she's 59.
  • Mmm, Star of David Rice Krispie Treats.
  • Coach Hines, as usual, sucks ass, but at least they tried something different with it.
  • 24 with Bobby Lee and John Cena = BEST SKETCH OF THE NIGHT! NO, BEST SKETCH OF THE SEASON!
  • "It was supposed to be our special day!"
  • After laughing my ass off at the 24 sketch, the Knobs sketch had to go and ruin the buzz. God damn it.
  • Although, as you all know, I hate "On the Download" with a passion, but I think I've figured out why they do it. These things probably cost next to nothing to make, since they're getting their material off the internet and it looks like Ike's bits are being shot in his house. So they're probably doing that to balance out the budget (in lieu of Encores).

Overall, an okay episode.

Don't worry if you missed this episode. It's just like all the others in season 11.

Saw the On The Download segment last night, I've heard about the so-called "Crying While Eating" before.

And I would to see Ike cry while watching one of the episodes they've aired this year as punishment.

Eh, I know, I missed it on purpose, because I fell asleep at 9:00 and than woke up again exactly at 11:00, watched 5 seconds of the Taradise parody, and thought "Nope, not wasting my time tonight."

But in those 5 secs...I thought Arden was pretty good as Tara Reid.

Taradise: Arden has really boosted the "hot factor" on MAD. Her impression wasn't great, but it was a good sketch.

Open: I was glad this opener wasn't as obnixious or Ike-stupid. It's my favorite opener of the season, but I don't like Arden's "crazy voice." More female openers.

Boston Legal: Good sketch, good concept. Not too long, but the Emmy thing was great.

Jazzed: The beginning was great for me, like with the Lost joke, but it died off in the end. Another new character to add to the Repository.

Marvin: It had it's moments, but it was nothing special. "10% of nothing is nothing" - more MAD salary jokes. I think I'll enter the contest. I don't know what I'd do though.

Hines: Daniele and Nicole RJ need not be wasted in this crap.

24 w/ Bobby: Funnier that the second one. I liked Bobby and Robosapien dancing. Crista's beatdown was great, especially when she kicked him in the nuts and the sketch ended.

Knobs: I just don't like Ike and Bobby together, so I couldn't enjoy this sketch. Keegan and Caeti brought it up in the end though. Could have been a good concept.

on/the/download: Can someone create a "Stop this sketch" website, and we all submit it? Besides hating this, did Ike say "No, that's not Nicole Sullivan" during one of them?

Close: Meh.

Overall, it was a good episode. 3.5/5
But I want way more Nicole Parker next week.

EDIT: Well, I guess I can get my fix of NP in next week's rerun of 1102.

I have to admit Arden is one of the better surprises for me this season. Everyone was so hot for Christa but I just found her annoying. Glad to see Arden is in a lot more sketches.

I loved Arden as Tara Reid...good stuff.

I especially loved her in the opening ("I'm playing elevator and you're going down!" )

The rest of the show was blah and meh....NO MORE 24 WITH BOBBY LEE...I personally don't like seeing him in his underwear.. ...I did, however, like Crista in this when she attacked him...good stuff.

I didn't really like Coach Hines (Surprise! )

The jazzed for crafts thing was ok...Arden and Crista make a good pair...like Mark said, DON'T CHEER FOR MICHAEL!

Marvin Tikvah was kind of blah this time...same ol' same ol'....what the hell is up with that contest?!?!

On/The/Download was just dumb...I want to see someone else do this...Arden would be good or even Crista....IMO

Um...what else am I forgetting? I think that's about it...

Taradise:
Ardens Tara impression was pretty good. Not funny though.

Open:
Not funny to me

Boston Legal:
I've never seen the show so I didnt really understand.

Jazzed:
This was funny. It had its moments like when crista was showing what they had and I think she was holding something with Jesus and she said "I died for you," I actually can't even remember if that was even in the sketch but if it was it was funny. And Michael's shirt was kinda funny.

Marvin:
It was kinda funny

Hines:
This might have been the funniest one, but not halarious

24 w/ Bobby:
"It was soposed to be our special day." . I felt bad for Bobby getting slapped so much because you could see his skin getting red after a while. Crista was the funniest in this sketch... even though she was hardly in it.

Knobs:
umm...? The only thing that I laughed at was Frank and Keegan laughing.

on/the/download:
Doesn't MAD get it yet that basically no one likes these and that they need to stop doing these.

Close:
Didn't get to see this

overall:
Just another ok episode. There was no Stephnie and no Nicole P.(at least I don't think Nicole was in it)

I missed it this week because I turned it on and they were showing a hockey game instead. I didn't feel like waiting up for an episode that once again, looked pretty bad. I had to work early in the morning anyways.

Every episode this season has been pretty crappy and uneven if you ask me. There is nothing on the show anymore that keeps me watching, there is not one character except for Stephnie's that I find even remotely funny. The writing is bad and the cast just hasn't really kept me interested this season. The writing has never been so uninspired and repeditive. I never thought I'd say this, but I just really don't even care if I miss it anymore unless there is a specific sketch that I know I want to see in advance. I'll always be a fan of MADtv, but this season is soooooo dull. Now that Stephnie is gone, with the exception of like one or two people, the cast is pretty interchangable. There are very few people that have really put their personality out there and made their own staple on the show as many of the cast did in the past. It takes more than a few good impressions to do that. MADtv has never been so dull. Why they constantly rely on the same segments that are cheap to produce and are not even funny, such as On The Download and 24 w/ Bobby Lee, is beyond me. It feels like they don't even care about making a good show anymore. Hopefully things improve. Sorry guys, it's just my opinion. I have never felt this way in the past and hopefully things get better. I feel like 7 episodes sets a pretty good tone for the rest of the season and so far they just haven't been impressive.

I think you all should just tune in and give the show a chance. What's this bull**** about turning it off after the first sketch? the WHOLE EPISODE can't be bad. I thought this episode was a hoot. Even the knobs sketch was semi funny although if they did another one i'd probably shoot myself.

But if you guys were really true fans of the show you wouldnt not watch it because "it looks bad" or "TeH FiRST SkETCH WAz STOoPiDz.!!!1haxor"

I've watched the entire episodes this season and I'm still not enjoying MADTV like the other years.

FYI... I am a true fan but I can't fake liking a particular episode or skit if I don't thinks it's funny. It's simply upsetting to see a show that gave me so many laughs go downhill. I won't give up on MADtv because of one bad season. A lot can change in a year.

Yea, I never said that I've given up hope for MADtv completely, just for Season 11. After all, remember how bad Season 7 was, and then look at Season 8 in comparison. It's like night and day (although I have to be honest, I'm starting to really, really like Season 7's eps in lieu what's been in Season 11).

AMEN BROTHA SPEAK THE TRUTH!

So this season isn't as good as some others...big deal. You can't honestly tell me that you sit through an entire episode without laughing ONCE. A few laughs here and there makes it worth MY time to sit and watch. Maybe I'm just not that picky. I don't know, it's just really annoying that all of a sudden 95% of some people's posts are like "OMG THE NEW SEASON SUCKS SO BAD!" Come on. Let's be a tad more optimistic here. The glass is half full.

Chris's Review...

Taradise: Even though it was another sketch with a joke about Arden's boobs, I found this quite funny. The Grey Goose in her implants was priceless. 4/5

Open: WWE Champion John Cena: I don't like these openings with the guest stars. This was funnier than last week's and it didn't have Bobby Lee, so it was okay. 3/5

Boston Legal: I was pretty mad that There was another William Shatner impression right after 1106's but this was funny. Nicole has been way underused and it was good to see her. Towards the end it got a little too unfocused, but it was good. 3.5/5

Jazzed For Crafts: Monster Truck Rally: I love these girls! They're dorkiness crack me up. Even though this was very similar to the first, I found it hilarious and I laughed quite a bit. I was near tears when Crista held out the Jesus and Santa oven mits "Hohoho! I died for you" 4.5/5

Marvin Tikvah's Search for a Star: I have to say, I wasn't expecting this to be any good, I hate Marvin Tikvah. This definitely went past my expectations, and made me giggle. I liked the tie-in with the star search. 3.5/5

Coach Hines: Bus Ride: Here was another sketch that usually sucks but didn't this time. I like how they changed up the setting of it, so it wasn't just another one of him yelling at kids. Hines' dialogue was also improved, funnier. 4/5

24 with Bobby Lee: John Cena: I really expected this sketch to SUCK HARD......but it didn't. Even though it was much like the previous ones in the beginning, it got better and became a laugh-out-loud sketch. Bobby's beatings never got old, I loved Crista(!) coming out and smacking the crap out of him. 4/5

Knobs: The whole time I watched this sketch I was like what the heck is going on...while laughing so hard I couldn't talk. Bobby's weird impressions and Ike's bad acting were so strange they were hilarious. I think Frank and Keegan were actually the best part. I laughed like them...the more they laughed the more I did. They sounded so funny. 4/5

MADtv's on/tHe/DoWnLoaD 4.0: Stupid, stupid, stupid on/tHe/DoWnLoaD!!! I hope this ends soon. While it was much better than 2.0 and 3.0, it wasn't the quality of 1.0, which I found funny, and it definitely wasn't that great. That eating while crying thing was weird, couldn't they have found something that didn't look so staged? 2.5/5

Close: 24 with Bobby Lee: John Cena: More Bobby beatings. Hilarious. 3.5/5

High Point: Jazzed For Crafts: Monster Truck Rally

Low Point: on/tHe/DoWnLoaD 4.0

Total: 36.5/50 or 73%

Conclusion: Best epsiode of the season WOOT! Like elscorcho said, the glass is starting to be seen (by me) as half full instead of half empty. Maybe even more. I'm glad that neither, Arden, Ike, or Bobby were overused in this episode, and that almost all of the sketches were very funny. Only on/tHe/DoWnLoaD wasn't very good. I think this season is starting to get a lot better. I can't wait for it to return on the 17th.

Taradise: Arden's Tara Reid was good...but come on, more boob jokes? Well, then again it's Tara Reid, so I guess it's excused.

Open: WWE Champion John Cena: nothing to say really, it wasn't anything special. Arden still reminds me of Amy Poehler...someone agree with me! lol

Boston Legal: I've never seen the show, not that you'd have to see it. Nicole's Candice Bergen was ok but the voice was kind of off.

Jazzed For Crafts: Monster Truck Rally: EEEEE this was good...not as good as the first one but good enough. Mike brought it down for me, sorry. But Crista and Arden were great. Yay!

Marvin Tikvah's Search for a Star: I don't know...this was weird. Some good lines from Mike though.

Coach Hines: Bus Ride: BEST sketch of the night, and I don't even like Coach Hines. It was really different from the usual Coach Hines crapola, and I loved it. The syringe quote was like the funniest line all season. ^_^

24 with Bobby Lee: John Cena: It had it's moments, it was better than the one with Jordan. The "special day" bit was funny. I'm kind of sick of seeing the other person in the sketch beat the hell out of Bobby though...actually scratch that, Crista beating the hell out of Bobby was funny to me for some reason. I liked when he knocked on her door and was like "That's my cappucino machine (or whatever it was)" and she says "SO?? IT'S MINE NOW!" lol...good stuff, Crista, good stuff. Keep it up, yo.

Knobs: This should really stay a one-off. Not because it sucked, but because it's just one of those sketches that should stay at one. Keegan and Frank's laughing was priceless. Ike's smartass was funny, but I think it would have been funnier with someone else doing it.

MADtv's on/tHe/DoWnLoaD 4.0:

Close: 24 with Bobby Lee: John Cena: eh.

Overall: I'd say this episode was a thumbs up, minus on the download...so basically they'll show this crap every episode and I'll never get to say that I loved everything in one episode. Thanks a lot you bastards.
