Not a great episode at all, but it was better than I thought it would be.

Both the Sanford and Son 2005 and Dr. Larry's Sleeping Pills sketches were quite funny, in my opinion. The Wheel of Fortune sketch with Pam Anderson was pretty bad but not as sucky as thought it would be.

Next week...wait for it...wait for it...DOT RETURNS! Let the excitement ensue.

Default Final Thought

Now, it is time for me, MADfan2004, to enlighten you all with my final thoughts :
  • What was the point of advertising this episode as 250th? They didn't do anything different from what they do EVERY SINGLE WEEK.
  • In the opening, did anyone else find it funny that when Bobby came out, he got tons of applause, but when Jordan and Keegan came out -- NOTHING? I mean, it's understandable, since Bobby's been on the show two years longer than they have, but damn, not even some scattered clapping?
  • Anyone else wonder if Pamela Anderson will be that hot when she's in her 80s?
  • For the love of God, can we PLEASE get rid of "On the Download"? You can find this sh!t on Ebaums and it's a lot better because you don't have to deal with Ike.
  • "Blackacrombie," heh heh. Cute
  • Did Christa do anything as Vanna White in the Wheel of Fortune sketch? Did she do anything in this episode AT ALL?
  • When did Paul leave the Late Show? I'm more of a Daily Show/Colbert Report/Adult Swim man, myself.
  • That priest car salesman was funny, but I hope they leave it as a one-off sketch. (I didn't see 1103, was he in that?) We don't get many of those nowadays.
  • God, I love this new set. MUCH better than that neon purple sh!t last year.
  • Inside looking out! Who-hoo!

Okay, I know that was more questions than comments, but whatever. All in all, decent episode, much better than that vomit-inducing crap last week.

I only enjoyed a minority of this episode, and that's unusual for me because I usually thorougly enjoy most episodes. It seems as though these newer seasons (pretty much 10 and 11) are trying too hard. I mean, the openings the past two seasons are just bad. All the episodes now have an opening and they're all poorly planned out, and like I said earlier, Bobby Lee always manages to interrup them one way or another.

Season 6 is a good example here - they got right on with it - no openings for a cast member to ruien, all the sketches ran right after another without some lame stand-up thrown here and there in between. Oh and, I'm bored of MADtv's opening titles. They need new ones!

Well it was better than In Living Colors take.I find it funny they
replaced bossman Quincey's theme music.Dr Larry's was good.
Wheel sucked cept' Jordan&Nicole.I was an IKE show for sure.
Bush sketch was ok(they are really doing too many of these,as
everyone has said)Michael was great as VP Dick. This was a pretty
good show.PS I think on the download is just a ploy to get people
to the Madtv website. Also madfan2004,the paul refered to earlier in the thread was refering to Mr.Vogt not Shaffer.

The episode was good. The first half hour was chock full of sketches, I think we had six of them, but then the second half was bleh.

Sleeping Pills: The whole sketch was good. Reminded me of how little Stephnie we get these days. The very end fell flat for me, but it was good.

Opening: Right before this went on, I prayed not to see Ike or Bobby, but I did. Big suprise. The whole Granny Pam thing was dumb. Pam's thing was pretty bad. I think Bobby got a bunch of "14 year old Mexican girls" to cheer for him. And the "Uh oh, my hot dog!" thing was, uh. Not a good opener.

Abercrombie: Looking back, this was a short sketch. Not too long, so it was nice. The poses were better than usual. Jordan was a good addition. The end was quick and weird, but whatever.

Inside Looking Out: Nicole's ears stole this sketch. First, with her playing the triangle on them, and then Jordon accidently pulling on of them off. "Oh, it is the hair of Superman"

Buick Guy: Caeti is good. He wrote this sketch. Funny concept, but Arden's character just got annoying at the end. And Caeti has got some "mad dance skilz." If we see another Krumpin, he has to be in it.

Wheel of Fortune: Bleh. Okay. Good quote from Pam: "Magic like Harry Potter?" And Nicole the homemaker trying to be sexy, and Ike shunning her was nice.

Bush: Ugh, Bush. Who wants to be we'll see a John Madden impression next week, and then Bush again? Please Frank, give us a break! PLEASE! Michael was a good Dick Cheney.

Sanford and Son: Never seen the real show, can't really judge. It was okay though, I guess. I forgot Daniele was a part of the cast until she showed up. I went, "Oh yeah, Daniele is on this show!"

on/the/Download: I didn't see it last week, but the stuff on it was bad. Stop this sketch. Please.

Cast Closing: Nice to see an actual cast closing. We need more of them. Stephnie was in it, which was a nice suprise. I like closings.

Not 250 great, but normal episode great. Wasn't really dissapointed by anything. Look forward to Dot next week.

Caeti should be a cast member next year.
We need to see Nicole RJ some more.

I pretty much agree with, MADfan2004.

Except I liked 1104 better than 1105.

IKE IS NOT FUNNY. HE NEEDS TO GO AWAY.

I saw the On the Download Segment but I wouldn't be this segement would be "demoted" to online only also the 250th episode (or really 247th) was about as normal most non-Christmas, Halloween and Super Bowl theme shows they have had better more grosser.

Sleeping Pills - The concept for this sketch was sort of stupid, but Steph saved it from totally sucking. Her facial expressions were so funny. And I LOVED when she was hitting the little girl with the flowers lmfao

Open: Grandma Barinholtz - This was dumb. Pamela wasn't a very good guest star at all, but hey at least she tried...I guess.

Abercrombie - They really need to put a stop to these. So lame.

Inside Looking Out - This was sort of ok...I applaud Nicole and Jordan for making creative characters, but I'm already getting sick of these two...

Buick Salesman - This was ok...Pretty good concept for a sketch, and I thought Frank was really good, and Arden was ok. I don't want to see it again though.

Wheel of Fortune - This was lame...Nicole and Jordan were good though. Ike...

Bush - Gawrsh I'm sick to death of this impression. This was dumb.

Sanford and Son - I never watched this show or anything but Jordan sure did look like that old guy from the show. Pretty good overall. Daniele was funneh.

on/the/Download - I wish they'd stop doing this but I know they won't....for the love of god ;|

Closing - It's nice to see them all on stage together. Good stuff...I brought your medicine! *pulls out a bottle of liquor* haha

Overall - Very disappointing. Yay for Dot next week

Whoa!! So much Ike bashing!! Don't leave it to me to say something nice!!

I think he is great, although I agree with Cartman2002 that maybe "On the download" should be an online/website thing only. Although, I am willing to give it some time to find better material to use.

I do have to rant about how they under used Keegan in this episode! He is hilarious and was barely on. The Abercrombie sketch was good, but I think they should have swapped Keegan and Jordan -- Keegan would have been funnier.

I hated "Inside looking out", it seemed to go on forever. That is exactly why I don't watch SNL: They do something mildly amusing and then let the skit go on and on and on... I hope Mad doesnt go the same route.

"Buick Guy" was awesome -- I hope they use New Frank more, he is a breath of fresh air -- but I agree that Arden was too much.

And as much as I like Frank, I can seriously do without the Bush or John Madden stuff -- it's old.

As always, I Like Ike...

It's really the 249th episode, check the main index under the threads column, in the episodes row.

Sleeping Pills - Haha sweet commercial Idea. I kinda figured it would be about coffee but boy howdy was I wrong. Highlight: Steph kicking Frank and the little girl's ass with the flowers.

Open: Pam was at least really into it. It was ok. Highlight: Pam's Breasteses.

Abercrombie - I liked this one. The subtitles were funny for the poses.

Inside Looking Out - Oh dear. I died here. I think Nicole and Jordan deserve writing credit for that because of all the improv they had to throw in once her earring fell off. I can seriously say that I love it when anyone breaks character. Highlight: Nicole tried ever so hard to drop the "N" Bomb.

Buick Salesman - Frank brings so much energy to the show, he is great. I like this character but instead of selling cars, he should have different jobs. Car salesman gets boring but putting him in other scenarios could be great. Highlight: Frank's cartwheel.

Wheel of Fortune - I thought this was funny. I like it whe Ike is mean to people. He plays a good asshole I guess. Nicole and Jordan were both good here too. Christa didn't do much though . I loved how pam spun on the wheel at the end. Highlight: Pam's....Breastesses

Bush - This was interesting. The Dick Cheyney impresion kinda sucked. Just kinda though. The band was a nice touch. Highlight: Frank cutting up Bobby..."Ching Chong's a Ding Dong."

Sanford and Son - I don't get it because I never saw the show. The plate falling off the door after Danielle was shot at was a nice touch. It would have added to the realism if it didn't fall 5 minutes after he fired the gun. Highlight: Danielle is funny pretty much all the time. She needs more characters though.

on/the/Download - I still like this idea. This one wasn't as good as last weeks but not bad.

Closing - This scared the hell out of me. They looked sad and I though Mike was gonna cry... I expected the worst. The goodbye for Stephnie. There was a cake and everything so I kinda jumped to conclusions. I forgot it was the 250th episode... Partially because it isn't and they didn't really mention it.

Conclusion: Ok here is my theory. We are reliving the show's beginning. Season 9 was season 1 and now we are onto the second comming of season 3. Nicole Parker and Frank Caeti are here to save the show and bring it into the mainstreamish place it once was.

Ok but this thread is for last weekend's episode. You can try to find the episode with him in it for season 1 or 2 in the archives.

Default I hope help is on the way...

I've always loved MADtv, and considered them to never have had a bad season. A rare bad episode during the run, but never an entire season I would label "BAD". This is a truly bad season, so far. It looks like they're ad-libbing every single week, just making it up as they go along. It's like watching that lame "Who's Line Is It, Anyway?' that Drew Carey did on ABC. Breaking character repeatedly isn't funny; if I wanted to see that, I'd just watch Horatio Sanz on SNL. I don't follow this stuff religiously, so tell me: has there been a huge turnover in writers on this show? If not, then the existing staff must be burnt-out. I know there are quite a few people here who disliked Aries Spears, but, man, do I miss him. As does this show. Saturday Night Live sucks again this year, but at least in the past, MADtv would wash away the bad taste left by a lousy SNL episode. Not this year.
