Hate Mail: This was funny....and true lol. The mini Stuart at the end was creepy. Very unexpected. 4/5

Red Carpet: MADtv Season 11 Premeire Party: This was pretty boring...the Raven part was scary! haha 2/5

These Dukes Are Not Worth Watching: Overall this was really good. I thought her Jessica impression was very "Britney" as far as looks go. It looked like the same wig somewhat. Anyway, it was a pretty good parody I guess...I've only seen the real video once. Nicole was hawt ^_^ 4/5

House MD: ehh, this was boring to me. I've never seen the show. I found myself zoning out and I hardly paid attention to it. 2/5

Mrs. Campbell: Real Estate: I love Mrs. Campbell. This was great...I loved the funnel cake part, and the ending where she sold them her house. 4/5

March of the Animals in Morgan Freeman's Backyard: This was ok, I guess. Jordan was funny, but it seemed poorly written to me. The squirrel comment was funny. 3/5

Jazzy Girls: I liked this...new recurring characters, perhaps? I'd put money on it. They were very "The Parker Sisters meets Susan Whitfield" in a way...but different nonetheless. Crista and Arden worked very well together. My favorite part was Crista saying "Stop it, homo!" lmao 4/5

The Psychiatrist: Not bad...not great though. Crista was really good here, as was Nicole P. 3/5

Ok Go: This amused the hell out of me. I really enjoyed this. Much better than a regular performance in my eyes. 4/5

Stephnie Weir/ Morgan Freeman Closing: Nice cast closing...always welcome. The Morgie Freeman voiceover was pretty good.

Overall: I liked the episode, but geez, a few castmembers got like next to no airtime at all. Daniele and the new Nicole were hardly there at all. Arden looks promising, and Crista's still going strong so far. Next week's preview was cool. I can't wait to see the parody of The View. Wow, the new Nicole is playing Star Jones...her impression was better than Daniele's from the little I saw.

I got a huge laugh at the 'Dukes Are Not Worth Watching' skit. Great parody, and a sad comentary on how lackluster the summer movies were this year. Didn't care much for Ike, & Bobby at the 'Teen Choice Awards'.(Raven Symone: blech!) The 'Miss Campbell' skit was pretty good, too.

I am happy to say that I watched the season premiere, after not watching 1/2 of season 10!
I swear this episode got me reinterested all over again. I was laughing my head off during "These Dukes Are Not Worth Watchin" and the House Parody. Ms. Campbell was hilarious as usual. Especially the funnel cake story about zelda. I'm very happy I decided to tune in because I have been growing increasingly distant from madtv & this forum. I don't think that will be a problem anymore.

Wow. I really love this episode. I love how the opening credits are almost the same, but it was kept unique for season 11. Very Retro looking. I thought the Jazzy Girls, Mrs. Campbell, and the Music Video made the night. I've seen House and that sketch was dead on correct. I love how the guy kept reviving out of no where.

Good episode. I didn't like the Psychiatrist sketch too much though. OK Go was much better last time, this one was just dumb. I like the new credits. Outtros are gone...

Was there a promo for next week? I must have missed it

Yeah, there was this sketch where Ike was playing a baseball player. I'm guessing this is recent, but I dont watch baseball so I dont know who he is doing an impression of. But its some baseball player who recently got caught for taking steroids. I heard about it in the news. Also there is a "The View" parody which looks really funny. The new Nicole is playing Star Jones and looks a lot like her.

My guess is that it was Rafael Palmeiro with the mustache. I guess they're parodying the steroid use

I really liked this one. I think this season shall be a good one, i hope......

I thought "Hate Mail" was pretty funny. WWBLD! i might make a shirt that says that.....and when i saw the little Stuart i screamed, lol. The Red Carpet bit didnt do anything for me. Made me miss the ones from the good 'ole days with Debra, Alex and Will. "These Dukes Are Not Worth Watching" was good . Good job by Nicole . "House MD" OMG my fav part!!!! I watch House religiously and they totally nailed it. "Can we please focus on the man who's dying?" "Well that would be me, 'cause I'm dying to nail you." . "Mrs. Campbell" was great, Rock on Steph! I didnt really pay attention to the Morgan Freeman parody...too busy dancing I thought that the Jazzy girls were great. "we also make customized t-shirts! This is my aunt Joyce, we made these after she died. We tell everyone we lost her to cancer, but she killed herself! ". Great sketch in my opinion. "The Psychiatrist" was good. Frank and Nicole kick ass! Ok Go is one of my fav bands and i saw them do that dancing thing on Collegehumor.com a while back, and im happy that they did it again . It's great that they did a group cast closing. I missed those . Hopefully there shall be more to come .

Maybe it was my mood and the fact that I miss Ron and Paul but I was not thrilled with this episode. IMHO, the sketches were way too long and the parodies were only good if you've seen the original show/movie. March of the Animals was really funny but the Jazzy Girls, uggggg! Annoying! The Red Carpet was enjoyable.

I'm not sure what I feel about the new cast members and need to see more of them to make a decision. A lot of people like Christa but her nervous energy make me nervous!!

It takes me awhile to get used to change and this episode had a entirely different feel to it compared to last season. I'm sure once things get rolling my opinion will change.

It seems like everyone else liked this ep. more than me...

Open: Hate Mail: It was pretty funny. I liked the parts with Bobby Lee and Keegan and Jordan practicing Man-Up. The ending was okay...unexpected but not very funny. 3/5

Red Carpet: Teen Choice Awards "Season 11 Premeire Party": It was pretty good, but no one could ever top Will and Alex. I liked how everyone made fun of Bobby Lee. 2.5/5

These Dukes Are Not Worth Watching: I thought this was pretty dumb. It was more staing the obvious than it was funny. Although I did like the crack about Lindsay Lohan in Herbie: Fully Loaded where she was drinking. 1.5/5

House MD: Again, not too funny. I did like Nicole P.'s small part--"You have a gruff exterior, but you're lovable"--and some of the jokes from House. 2.5/5

Mrs. Campbell: Real Estate: I thought it was pretty good. But it's hard to make a bad Mrs. Campbell sketch, like with any of Stephnie Weir's characters, IMO. I liked her comemnts about her friend Zelda eating her way out of the funnel cake, and making up a price. Crista was pretty good too. 3.5/5

March of the Animals in Morgan Freeman's Backyard: It was pretty good. I liked the "fat yella cat" and Jordan's Morgan Freeman. 3/5

Jazzy Girls: I thought this was actually pretty funny. "We met online in a dried macaroni chatroom". Arden seems to be pretty talented. It was pretty funny too when the reluctantly kissed. 4/5

The Psychiatrist: It was weird, they were cramming too many things in, but still okay. I loved Nicole's Renee Zellweger. 2.5/5

Ok Go!: Extremely strange, but it caught my eye more than any of the other performances I've seen on MAD. It was a good song, too. Their dancing was well choreographed. 3/5

Stephnie Weir/ Morgan Freeman Closing: Normal cast closing until Morgan Freeman comes in. I liked his comments about how the cast only pretended to like each other. 3.5/5

High Point: Jazzy Girls

Low Point: The Dukes Are Not Worth Watching

It was pretty good, but not as good as the Season 10 Premeire, IMO. Crista was great, and Arden was pretty good, but Arden didn't have enough chances to be funny. Frank Cae. was in quite a bit, but pretty much all that he was in, he was just a set-up character. Nicole RJ.'s part was pointless. Hopefully, the season will get going later. This episode was very mediocre.

Final:29/50 OR 58%

Default Robbie's in-depth review (#1101)

Mike's Hatemail :

Michael McDonald receives a hate mail letter, so with the help of Bobby Lee's advice, he decides to track the guy down who wrote the letter. Michael walks around the studio, meeting new the new castmembers and even seeing Jordan and Keegan practicing their man-up sketch. In the end, Michael goes to the house and confronts a kid in a Stuart outfit. Michael is freaked out and runs away.
Opinion: I thought this was a very good introduction to the new season, seeing all the new castmembers and such. Frank Caliendo freaking out was just weird, to me, but his banana pants were priceless. The ending was cool, to see a little kid play Stuart.

Premiere Party - 2005 Teen Choice Awards :

Bobby and Ike come out on the new stage and they explain how they had just come from the MADtv Season 11 Premiere Party and then they begin to show clips. This is really just the Teen Choice awards and Bobby and Ike are telling the celebrities that's what it is. After interviewing the celebrities, Bobby freaks out on Ike because he is the only person wearing a tuxedo and he storms away. After the segment is over, Ike introduces season 11 and the crowd goes wild.
Opinion: The celebrity interviews were all pretty good. I especially liked when Bobby spit on Ike and when Ike and Bobby shoved their microphone's into Jon Heder's face. But the best part had to be when Raven Symone rubbed against Bobby proclaiming her love for Bobby. That was awesome. Not bad overall.

Music Video: Jessica Simpson Not Featuring Nick Lachey "The Dukes Are Not Worth Watching":

Two Hollywood executive types walk into a western bar exhausted from the summer movies they made. When the bar finds out they're from Hollywood, they suddenly become angry, saying they owe them for the Dukes of Hazzard. The executives explain that their movies are high quality. Jessica Simpson walks out and sings about how the summer remakes sucked and "not worth watching". Nicole Kidman (Arden) and Lindsay Lohan (Crista) appeared a couple times to help illustrate it. At the end, Jessica is in a bikini washing a car
Opinion: This was pretty good. You're not really expecting the whole thing to turn into a summer movie parody. The best part was definitely Crista's Lindsay Lohan, even though it was so short. I really enjoyed Arden's Nicole Kidman and her beer bottle breaking. I also wanna say that Nicole Parker looked really hot in the bikini.

House:

This parody starts out with a psychiatrist (Frank Caeti) who passes out during his session then goes into the care of House (Michael). The other doctors take care of him and House criticizes him and the other doctors. House is also abusing drugs and shoving them into his mouth. There is even a Stuart reference when House mentions that he looks like Stuart on TV. The doctors make up weird medical terms that don't make sense to save the psychiatrist (which ends up being foot lotion).
Opinion: This was okay. Ike's character was funny, to me. Also, Frank did a good death scene twice. I guess you have to really watch the show to understand it more, but I got the gist of it.

Mrs. Campbell Sells Her House :

This sketch starts out with the estate lister (Crista) showing people the open house for sale. An eager couple, the Pollock's (Nicole P and Frank Caeti) are looking through the house for a third time. Mrs. Campbell comes in, shocked by the price of the house, which is $1,000,000. She makes assumptions that the house is special or that the estate lister is a Gypsy. Mrs. Cambell explains that her friend Zelda worked at a carnival and she ate her way out of a funnel cake. The Pollock's come back and decide to buy the house, but then Mrs. Campbell offers her house for a better deal. The Pollock's take it and walk away.
Opinion: This was a good Mrs. Campbell sketch. Crista was very good in her role and Mrs. Campbell was hilarious. The best part was the funnel cake part, that Zelda got so fat from eating the funnel cake, and that her house fell on her. I enjoyed this.

March of the Animals in Morgan Freeman's Backyard:

Morgan Freeman (Jordan) is in a recording studio explaining that he has narrated many films and how he is underpaid. He tells that he will be narrating a new movie about his backyard. They show clips of Morgan's backyard while Morgan narrates it. Several animals are shown and Morgan talks about them. Back at the studio, Morgan says that it will be popular just because he narrated it.
Opinion: I really did not like this. I thought it was very stupid. The fat yellah cat made me chuckle, but that's it. I did like that it was very short and it didn't drag on.

Jazzed For Crafts

Kendra (Arden) and Denise (Crista) are teenagers selling crafts they made at a sporting event. They explain how they are "jazzed" about doing a guy or making crafts and such. The first customer (Frank Caeti) wants a beer, and the jazzy girls offer a beer cozy. The second customer (Keegan) is a guy that the girls like and try to act cool. They explain they met at a chat line at macaroniandglitter.com. The customer convinces the girls to kiss each other. Kendra and Denise end up going with the customer to do him.
Opinion: I loved this so much. This has got to be the best sketch of the night. I am such a sucker for teenage loser characters like this. There were no flaws about this. The two girl's voices were hilarious. I especially liked the part with the T-Shirts "She killed herself TEEHEE" I really hope these girls are recurred. I love them already.

The Psychiatrist

Rachel McAdams's character (Crista) loses her husband, Mark Wahlberg (Ike). Renee Zellweger (Nicole P) reveals she had an affair with Mark. Rachel becomes enraged with Renee and sees a psychiatrist, Jack Nicholson (Frank Caliendo) Rachel seeks revenge and follows Renee. This turns into a parody of movie trailers, where the trailer gives away the whole movie. The trailer gives away the whole movie, which results in Rachel's death and Renee and Jack become lovers together.
Opinion: I thought Crista was brilliant in this sketch. Everything about Crista's role was awesome and hilarious. I loved the bathroom scene where Crista does a in the mirror. It was pretty good overall

Musical Performance: OK Go "A Million Ways"

OKGO dance to their song
Opinion: I usually won't critique these but I thought this was entertaining and it was something different. I liked the choreogrpaphy.

Closing: Cast
Stephnie closes the show while Morgan Freeman narrates it.
Opinion: I am glad that there was a cast closing again. I hope they do it some more. The Morgan narration wasn't bad.

I really like the new opener, if it's just a filter over the old one. The new cast pictures were nice, and this cast is HUGE!

Open: Hate Mail: Good Sketch. Liked the 2 Nicoles and 2 Franks part, but disappointed we didn't see Arden at all. The whole "Ike isn't funny" part was hilarious. The Stuart part at the end was weird.

Red Carpet: Teen Choice Awards "Season 11 Premire Party" Lame. Ike and Bobby are not a team. Raven spiced up the sketch for one brief moment, but other than that it was a snooze fest.

These Dukes Are Not Worth Watching Nicole Parker is great. The sketch was alright. Arden and Crista's appearances/impressions aren't much to talk about.

House MD The audience didn't really laugh at many of the jokes, so I felt dumb laughing at times. Overall, a good parody.

Mrs. Campbell: Real Estate One of the shining sketches. Stephnie was great. Crista reminded me little too much of a highschool actress, with her mannerisms, but it could have been nerves. Or maybe I'm not a fan of "normal" Crista.

March of the Animals in Morgan Freeman's Backyard I laughed at times. The one liners were good, but I'd like to see more out of Jordan Peele than Morgan Freeman.

Jazzy Girls When Frank Caeti walked in at first, I thought we were about to see a Coach Hines sketch. I thought this sketch was great. These two have potential. Arden put a good first impression in my head. Watching her trying not to laugh and Keegan's expressions just made it all the more funny.

The Psychiatrist Ok. Good at times. Nice spotlight for Crista.

Ok Go! If only I could learn this dance.

Stephnie Weir/ Morgan Freeman Closing I'm glad Stephnie got to close. Anyone else notice how freakin' huge this cast is?

Nicole RJ wasn't in much, but her Star Jones impression next week looks promising. Caeti was in a lot of sketches for being featured.

Overall, a good episode. Much better than some of the episode we saw last season.

8.5/10

note: In the closing credits they spelled his name wrong... "Hul Hogan"

OMG I did NOT masturbate to the horror movie. I did NOT. But that's because I only saw it in the theaters and I didn't want to end up in jail like that guy from "PeeWee's Playhouse" But I do have Blade: Trinity on DVD.

Default Post Episode Thoughts

-Arden Myrin (sp?) looks a lot better on screen than she did in all those pictures.
-I don't know if they mentioned this in any of the threads, but after Frank and Christian, I really wasn't expecting another first season cast member.
-Nice opening, I love how they poked fun at the apparent dislike for Micheal and Bobby.
-Something tells me that either Danielle or Nicole J. will be gone by the end of this season.
-Are they ever going to completely re-do the credits? Seriously, this is the fourth f***ing year.
-Nice set, but it fells a little SNL-ish. Sort of a mixture of that and the original set (from seasons 1-2).
-Was anyone else kind of dissapointed they didn't have the bumpers of the cast members talking after the sketches like last season? I guess it was a season 10 only thing.
-I don't even like OK GO, but I will admit that was probably the best (or at least the most interesting) musical performance MADtv has ever had (and the song wasn't half-bad either).
-The Teen Choice Awards thing was cool, but I kind of wish it had been shorter.
-All in all, a good episode, not great, probably not as good as last year's premiere, and certainly not 5-star worthy (I give about a 3.8 myself), but still very good.

I thought the first episode was pretty good...it had it's moments.

I thought the House parody was funny because I watch that show every week.

The Jessica Simpson "music video" was great, in my opinion, because Nicole Parker is hot.

The Morgan Freeman sketch was hilarious. There was just something about pointing out the obvious and trying to make something out of nothing.

-The biggest disappointment of the night was not seeing Ron or Paul in the cast for Season 11. This means...

- No Lillian Verner game shows
- (Perhaps) No more 7:00 AM Condo Report.
- No more Abercrombie (unless Michael and Ike do it themselves).
- There are probably some others I can't think of that I thought were great too.

They will be missed.

I know everyone likes to reply without reading anything after the episode airs in these threads, but would someone mind helping me out?

Also, who played the bartender in the music video, was it Frank Caeti? Who was Nicole playing in House? Was it Lisa Edelstein: Dr. Lisa Cuddy?

Yes, it is "The Dukes Are Not Worth Watching" and yes, the bartender was Frank Caeti. And I don't watch house, so I don't know about that last part.

Yes, Nicole Parker played Dr. Cuddy, who is played by Edelstein on "House."
