Every time I log on to Internet Explorer, I keep getting this wierd home page that I didn't choose. And every time I try to change it, it just stays the same. What can I do to get rid of this home page?

You have spyware. a program to get rid of it is Spybot Search and destory

You got Hijacked. Its where a trojan or something gets into your computer and basically ****s with your start page.......


First things first..........Download Cool Web Shredder.......I did and run it......its free. It will take it away...........Secondly go to Control Panel then Internet Options then somewhere in there you can type in the home page you want to use.........

After you've downloaded it and run it. Then do the thing in the Control Panel.

Also, to keep your self protected do what I do, I have an antivirus and a firewall running. It helps a lot. I use AVG antivirus (www.grisoft.com ) and Zonealarm Firewall (www.zonelabs.com )

They are both free to use and I don't mean trial version...they are completely free. Which is awesome.

Newt007, I already have spybot search and destroy, but thanks anyway. Scorpiogrrl, I downloaded that web blaster thing and it was surprisingly fast. And LeachC, I'm downloading the firewall right now. Thanx

I had my home page hijacked a while back, and had to do research on it, b/c Norton's wasn't detecting it. Apparently, this hijack was relatively new at the time, and it wasn't until the next LiveUpdate of my virus definitions that it detected it. Was kinda pissed, b/c I would change the settings of my home page back to my choice, and it'd stick for a day or two, and back it went to the hijacked page.

I hate when the computer gets hijacked....it is really really annoying...especially when it gets really really bad, that you have so many viruses on there and the antivirus finds some and the ones that are still on there bring in more viruses....that really sucks... and then you have to reformat and reinstall....man, i hate when that happens.

1) A few years ago, I learned there is a very hard-to-find folder on your computer that has information on every webpage you've visited, along with pictures you've seen, and all old files on your computer. Has anyone in here found it? If so, could you tell me how to find it?

2) Can Windows Media Player capture screen captures?

Okay...I have a question.

So I got my computer back and everything was gone. So I was reinstalling my games, The Sims worked, but not American McGee's Alice(the screen was screwed up.)

So I uninstalled Alice...1, 2, 3 ...well a buncha times, but it was still on the program list.

Now I know how to fix the bug in Alice, but the program is in virtual limbo.

All of it's files are gone, but I can't uninstall or reinstall it. This is annoying the living *expletive* outta me.

whoah... I was talking about Windows MOVIE MAKER 2... not media player. Sorry for the confusion


About PitaPockets, try searching CProgram Files for A folder With the name of Your "Alice" Program, if you find one, parts of it are still on your computer, and you should manually delete that folder.
