For once, I decided not to judge the episode with a harsh eye, and just watch the episode. It didn't disappoint, much.
Water Polo: Good use of Keegan, and a Black History Month bit. The whole thing was pretty funny, even though we lost a few good men. They just couldn't swim... Jordan Intro: I wasn't really into it. I was disappointed Nicole RJ and Daniele didn't really do much. I thought they had bigger roles, but it was fine. Lillian Verner: Jeff is a worthy replacement for Paul, much better than Jeff Garlin. Nicole was the only good "past champion," she made me laugh the most. These sketches don't seem as good anymore. Nothing like the originals. Grab-Ass Jordan: I swear I've seen this character before. It was funny, then got... un-funny. Ike and Bobby Date: Favorite sketch of the night. Mainly because of Arden and Crista. I've come to accept that Ike and Bobby are inseperable and annoying together, and that's too bad. Funny sketch, though. I like them being them, like TJ said. Krumpin' with Alyson: Another good sketch. It was less "watch me Krump," and more character related. That's what made this sketch great, the character aspect. Good krumps. George Bush: I was dreading this sketch. I've hated the Bush stage sketches, but this one was good. Mainly just the Ike and Bobby bits. That was it. Ho' Nuva Level: I didn't watch the other one, but I've got it at the ready. It was a good character, funny sketch, but it dragged out WAY too long. The Survivor/Lost jokes were funny. Olympics: AN ENCORE WTF?!?! And I had such high hopes for this season, and they pull this sketch out. Okay, I understand, it's the Winter Olympics, but there could have been something better in there. Closing with Arden: Mmm, Arden. The closings look really awkward. It's like people are looking around, wondering what to do, who to hug. I like them. More new graphics. The "you are now watching MADtv" graphic was more intense, and the encore logo was new. High hopes for Laguna Biotch 2. I'm suprised that we've got a rerun next week, what gives? I know there are 8 more episodes left in the season, so I guess we'll see how the episodes go. We've got at most 12 more Saturdays to go. |

The water polo skit is one of the show's best skits this year and very cleaver edited.

Black History Minute: Water Polo- This was a very funny sketch, inventive. Keegan was great in it. 4/5
Intro: Blacks Taking over America- This also was very inventive. Jordan was showcased well. It had me laughing. 3.5/5 Lillian Verner: Survivor Edition- I wasn't expecting to like this, I've never really thought they were funny, but I quite enjoyed. The contestants made the sketch--Keegan and Nicole were hilarious. Simian wasn't as annoying as usual either. 4/5 Sexual Fighting- Another great sketch. Hopefully this will be left as a one off--it wouldn't work if they brought it back. I like that it wasn't overdone or too long, like many sketches are. Also, I really the film in it, it was good quality--maybe it's because of the episode cuts? 4.5/5 Ike and Bobby Go Out With Crista and Arden: This was okay, but it had bits that made me laugh. Ike was probably the highlight, playing up his total idiot persona. 3/5 Krumpin' With Alyson Hannigan: Even with a different set-up this still didn't match the first. The best part was the interviews with Nippy and Noodles--Crista was great, and when she got pushed off the chair was pretty great. Alyson Hannigan seemed kind of acting "stiffly", she wasn't very good. She kind of reminded me of Sara Gilbert in "Roseanne". 4/5 George Bush Talk To The Audience: Another mediocre Bush. PLEASE stop! Even if they are okay sketches, stop putting them on so often! Maybe give Frank a freaking recurring character?? 2.5/5 Ho' Nuva Leva With Jeff Probst: Not much was different from the first, but somehow I founded it funnier. Keegan was quite funny. 3.5/5 Encore: Winter Olympics: This was pretty mediocre, but the fact that it was short made it better. 3/5 Close With Arden And Cast: Just a closing. 3/5 High Point: Sexual Fighting Low Point: George Bush Talks To The Audience I'll probably comment on the episode later. __________________ If you are illiterate, you can't read this. ***Winner of Worst Username in the '05 Planet MADtv Awards*** |

I gotta say, this week's Lillian Verner was AWESOME. Easily one of my favorite skits so far this season - proof that it doesn't need Steph or Paul in it to make it great. On the other hand, I hated the Ike/Bobby date sketch. I can't really put my finger on it, it was just bad.
