Post Marilyn Manson to Perform Live on MADtv Stage this Friday

Marilyn Manson will be performing live on the MADtv stage this friday (October 15th) for an upcoming episode. Tickets are free and available from www.oactv.com.

Here is the "official" www.MADtv.com blurb just for the sake of it:

Quote:
MARILYN MANSON PERFORMANCE THIS FRIDAY, OCTOBER 15 AT MADTV

Rock superstar, Marilyn Manson, will perform live on the MADtv stage this Friday, October 15 at 8:00 p.m. MADtv would like to invite you to join us for this exciting live performance. For free tickets, contact On Camera Audiences at 818-295-2700 or visit their website at www.oactv.com.
Personally, I would have much preferred to see Marilyn in a sketch, but that's just me. If you're free this Friday evening, live in California, or in close proximity to the MADtv studios, and dig Marilyn Manson, then this may be the event for you!

Actually, I agree. I would rather see Manson in a sketch than have him play. I don't listen to him anymore because he's gotten way too pretentious. But he is funny. Oh well.

Whaaaat? Just because you don't like him doesn't mean he doesn't deserve to be there. At least they are getting someone slightly more edgy this time around.

This "Greatest Hits" collection is his final album, supposidly.

Marilyn Manson - Official Site

Vampy counterculture icon Marilyn Manson (born Brian Warner) rode to fame on a well orchestrated media blitz centered around his lurid live performances and gleefully remorseless badgering of the Religious Right. Manson's satanic attitudinizing (see his website for an eyeful) and ghoulish Alice Cooper-meets-Anton LaVey persona earned him a large cult following among disaffected teenagers looking to scare the bejesus out of their parental units. Going the road-tested Nine Inch Nails formula of driving Industrial beats and vivisectional lyrics one step further by camping up visually, Manson hit payola with Antichrist Superstar (1996). On this album -- his finest moment -- Manson's evil imp vocals are girded by a bad acid trip assortment of percussive guitar chops, world-gone-wrong samples and dancefloor throb. The glam-dandy follow-up Mechanical Animals (1998) was a concerted effort to crawl from beneath former producer Trent Reznor's long shadow. While the album succeeded on that account, it failed to ignite the frenzied devotion of his fans. Its middle-of-the-road tempos and sanitized textures seemed less a savage indictment of the status quo than a (cringe) bid for respectability.

Very 1996 of you. But it's a little late to jump on that bandwagon.

I think he is quite funny. I've seen him on shows and although he does look a bit strange he is a funny guy.

God, he's disgusting. He gets pleasure out of walking around in women's clothing, he sings music that ultimately can have an effect on psychos (and I say that because I live in Colorado, and was only a few miles away from that school when it happened that April). He has no respect for anyone (did you see that music video of his when he's re-enacting the JFK murder?) Or the video where he has breasts? Worst of all, he went to my mom's highschool. He was two graduating years behind her, but he's still in her yearbooks. (Check it if you want to - McKinley High School in Canton, OH) He actually looks normal, which is an example of how people ruin themselves. It just does not get my support. I'm with you, ef.

I wish that they'd do away with the musical guests (it's just a waste of time ) or if they're gonna do them then get someone good...

I can live with a performance... just as long as they don't put him in a sketch.

I think Putting him in a sketch would be pushing it a lot.

Yeah, I guess they may not necessarily be airing the performance - it just said that he was performing at the taping.

Its inevitable that they'll air it, they wouldn't waste all that money for a musical guest and then not air the performance.

I agree. Marilyn Manson is so played out. I mean, when was the last time he did something relevant?

Jeez, if you're gonna get someone to perform, get a band, like Jet or The Roots, ANYBODY but Marilyn Manson (okay, well not anybody, but not him).

What? Because he doesn't conform to what you think is "acceptable", he's ruining himself? Please.

Why wouldn't they? Because a couple of kids on a forum have said they don't like him?

Rock superstar, Marilyn Manson, stopped by MADtv this past week and performed a sinister version of Depeche Mode's Personal Jesus. The performance will air in November. Return to MADtv.com for updates!

Marilyn Manson performed his cover of Depeche Mode's "Personal Jesus" on MAD TV last Friday (Oct. 15) with a brand-new band lineup, featuring drummer Chris Vrenna (ex-Nine Inch Nails) and guitarist Mark Chaussee (ex-Fight, Danzig). It is not presently clear if Chaussee has joined Manson as a permanent replacement for guitarist John5, who was dismissed from the group earlier in the year.

....REACH OUT AND TOUCH FAITH!...

Your own personal Jesus
Someone to hear your prayers
Someone who cares
Your own personal Jesus
Someone to hear your prayers
Someone who's there

Feeling lonely
You're all alone
Flesh and bone
By the telephone
Lift up the receiver
I'll make you a believer

Sex at the best
Puts me to the test
Things on your chest
You need to confess
I will deliver
You know I'm a forgiver

Reach out and touch faith

Your own personal Jesus
Someone to hear your prayers
Someone who cares
Your own personal Jesus
Someone to hear your prayers
Someone who's there
