I'm watching the show right now, and while I wasn't particularly impressed with the Carrot Top number, a number of the sketches are unusually good. The Actor's Studio is my favorite so far--Will Sasso is still rocks in my books, even if he is overused. In a show that seems to go for overkill with it's impersonations, his far out, over-the-top impressions of James Lipton and even Bobby DeNiro do it for me.

I missed the first seven minutes and missed the Lord of the Bling sketch. It didn't look that funny anyway. Tara Reid was an uncalled for presence in this show. At least she didn't get in the way too much.
I liked the Real M**********ng Talk show and the R.Kelly parody. I think he did it. I mean this is the same guy that was secretely married to a 15 year old Alliyah. I liked the Robert Deniro and Joe Pesci product placement. Not as funny as it could of been if they had took it that one step further.
They encored the Seth Green and Alex Greeting Card sketch. I LOVE THAT SKETCH SO FRIGGIN MUCH I CAN'T FRIGGIN CONTAIN MYSELF!!!!!

Here's my quick rundown before bed.

Lord of the Blings: I need to watch it again because I came in at the end of it. Luckily I was already recording.

R. Kelly "The Greatest" video: I know nothing about this guy, but I could certainly appreciate the idea of the video. Pretty funny stuff, but doesn't come close to last week's music video. Now THAT was awesome! The direction of the idea, the excellent editing, the performances, the lyrics, the music...it all came together perfectly. Whoops, sorry, living in the past again...

Casio guy does Movie Score: This was so stupid, but I liked it anyway. LOL

Real Mo Fo Talk: I thought this was pretty funny.

Once in a Lifetime Million Dollar--whatever it was called! This was okay too. Predictable, but still okay. And the impressions were pretty good.

Pussycat Bijou Theater: I didn't even know what the hell this was at first. It didn't go anywhere, but it was short, so whatever.

Inside the Actor's Studio: This one had its moments for me, but it still wasn't great.

DeNiro does product placement: This was okay too, had it's moments.

Encore-Brightling Greetings: I was happy to see this one again. It was so funny to me and it still works.

On the whole, not a terrible episode. But after seeing last week's, this one doesn't come close to measuring up for me. 4 1/2 out of 10.

The R.Kelly song was a parody of the theme song to the movie Ali which was sung by R.Kelly and then rewrote to mock his current legal proceedings. Police have in their possesion a video tape which allegedly has R.Kelly and a 13 year-old having sex (which is why they had Aries fondle those teenage girl scouts). Like I said before, after the whole Alliyah thing, I think he did it.

Pussycat Bijou Theater was basically "what if you took the little cartoon concession stand trailer shown at all the regular movie theaters and redid it to show at a porno theatre?" It seemed pretty easy to follow to me.

I can't believe I forgot about the Casio movie score skit. And I laughed the hardest during that one.

Yeah, R.Kelly alleges that he and Alliyah never had sex during their marraige. But, they got divorced when she turned 18. I guess she was too old for him..he he (leans in to add emphasis to cheap joke)

He also claims that's not him in the tape, but I've seen it (at least as much as they will allow on regular TV). It's not looking good for R.Kelly.

I just realized today's episode didn't have any recurring characters, just celebrity impressions. Hmm...

In case everyone is wondering...I play a Casio as my master synth in my musical project.

<insert joke here>

But, its the CZ casio...which is top of the line and produces some of the most unique sounds ever.

Lords Of The Bling - In a parody of "Lord of the Rings," Lil Kim (Debra Wilson) stars as Fro Ho, a woman who has to find out the meaning of an evil "bling" with the help of Bill Cosby, Missy Elliott and Sisqo (all played by Aries Spears). This was actually really funny. Aries really shined here with all the impressions. I don't know who the other two guys (playing Jay-Z & Ice Cube) were, but they weren't bad either. And of course, Debra was funny too. Stephnie was a little weak at the end, but it was still good.

R Kelly Video - A video parody of R Kelly (Aries Spears) and his alleged jailbait fetish. He chases around young teenage girls and even videotapes them playing with dolls. This was really funny. I thought it was a great parody, and the lyrics were good too. Again, Aries was quite good.

Casio Score - A man (Will Sasso) is doing a score for a movie, but the only instrument he has is an old Casio keyboard. This was pretty good. Will surprised me here, although I might be giving him too much credit; he didn't do *that* much. The ending was sort of stupid with the guys fighting, but I still found it mildly amusing.

Real M********ing Talk - The show hosted by Dollar Bill (Aries Spears) is discussing Enron and The Oscars, among other things. This was good, it got me to laugh, but I hope they don't spin this into a recurring sketch. Andrew Daly was alright, but he was still a bit annoying.

Tara Reid Game Show - A homeless woman (Tara Reid) is trying to win money to help her kids, but can't get any of the celebrities to answer the easy questions. This was good enough for the celebrity impressions, but it didn't really go anywhere and Tara Reid was pointless. Also, it was kind of long. Still, the Carrot Top (Andrew Daly) and Drew Carey (Will Sasso) impressions were pretty funny. Reba McIntire (Stephnie Weir) was ok.

Porn Theater - This was GENIUS. Probably the best thing in the show, next to Lords of the Bling. Proves once again that short skits can steal the show, and even ones without cast members (i.e. "Baby Gap Whore," "Public School House Rocks" skits).

Inside The Actor's Studio - James Lipton (Will Sasso) interviews Tara Reid, but prior to the interview, he has gotten hit in the head by a giant light, causing him to become out of it. Again, this was alright, but Tara Reid was again kind of pointless. I actually liked this impression this time around more than in earlier sketches (like that God-awful one with Amanda Bines or however you spell it). The way that Lipton says everything in a refined way, even when talking to his mother about a snow day, was quite funny. Admittedly, this was really slapstick (the light keeps hitting him in the head), but it was still relatively good.

Product Placement - Robert Deniro (Will Sasso) and Joe Pesci (Frank Caliendo) do product placement for an old couple's (Mo Collins, Andrew Daly) beer. They are frightened because all of the scenes of the movie involve murdering people. The situation ends up being a product placement for Seiko. This was dumb. Although, again, the Deniro impression has grown on me, this was still too long and dumb. And I'm getting sick of Frank Caliendo's lame impressions.

Brightling Greetings (Encore) - The Brightlings (Seth Green, Alex Borstein) torture their employees (Aries Spears, Will Sasso, Debra Wilson) by running into them with their wheelchairs and yelling at them. While I thought this sketch was hilarious the first time I saw it, it ran a little dry this time. I only laughed a couple of times, and it doesn't seem nearly as funny to me anymore. It also feels like a cheap way to include the otherwise absent Alex Borstein in the show. Still, a decent skit, but I don't know if it was worth being repeated.

Overall - A pretty good episode, besides the fact that Mo and Alex were almost completely gone (both appeared in one sketch each, and in fairly minor roles). This episode has been one of the better ones of Season Seven, and Aries really shined here. 7/10

Question The Casio scene inserted with some 70s movie scene

I agree the Casio bit was hillarious, I thought it was great for the score to be added to some 70s scene. By the way, what movie scene was that stared the Jaws guy? I'm just curious, though.

Weird that MAD and SNL showed Actor's studio parodies the same night, huh?

Anyway, I saw "Lord of the Bling", then finished the movie I was watching (Silence of the Lambs), then came back in time for the game show. Six words: Alex, no, impressed, not, was, I...not in that order.

[OPENING] Lord of the Bling - The only thing funny in this was Aries' Bil Cosby impression. His impression is hilarious, and just earlier before this episode, I was thinking about his impressions and wondering if he would do it again. The rest in this was just bad.

[THEME SONG] I'm starting to notice that Michael McDonald gets WAY too much applause. It's not worth the hype.

[MUSIC VIDEO] R. Kelly - I didn't know what this was about, so I didn't get it.

[SKETCH] Music score for 70's movie - Awful. This wasn't funny at all. Neither was Michael McDonald beating up those two at the end (I never realized how short Andrew and Frank really are until I saw them standing next to Michael).

[SKETCH] Real (bleeping)ing Talk Show - I haven't seen the first edition, I only saw a preview from it, so this is my first time seeing this and I thought this was hilarious. Aries Spears was great here. Andrew Daly was also very funny. I usually hate it when they get extras to play big roles in sketches, but those two black extras were funny enough. Their reaction to Sissy Spacek's picture on the screen was very funny.

[SKETCH] Game Show - A funny game show parody. Tara Reid was good in her role here, even though i think she has an annoying voice. And the impressions were very funny. Andrew was dead-on as that Carrot-Top fool, Sasso got Drew Carey's goofy laugh down pat, and even Stephanie was good as Reba McEntire.

[CARTOON] Porn Theatre preview cartoon - Absolutely hilarious. It is great to see animation returning to Mad Tv.

[SKETCH] Inside the Actor's Studio - I never liked Sasso's James Lipton impression. It's nowhere as funny as Will Ferrell's from SNL. Speaking of which, SNL had an Inside the Actor's Studio parody tonight as well. What a coincidence.

[SKETCH] DeNiro and Pesci - Didn't they just do a DeNiro sketch last week? Anyway, this is really the only good use of Sasso's DeNiro impression, when he's paired up with Frank Caliendo. Frank's Joe Pesci impression was really good, and for once, he impersonates someone he actually looks like. Did anyone else notice that Mo's character in this was a lot like Lorraine. And as usual, Bobby Lee gets me to laugh just by looking at his face. He has really funny facial expressions.

[MAD TV ENCORE] Old Wheelchair Couple - I loved this the first time and I still think it's very funny. I remember when first seeing this, I didn't even know that was Seth Green as the old man, he looked like Pat Kilbane playing an old man. Seth was really funny in this.

Overall Thoughts: Some usual Season 7 nonsense mixed with some good sketches. An alright episode.

Cast Member(s) of the Night: Aries Spears, Andrew Daly

Hear, hear! I don't mind him, but you can really see how it goes to his head in some skits. He's kinda creepy (in an R. Kelly kind of way).

I didn't see this one, but I wanted to comment on something...it's Drew CAREY! ONE r, not two! Sorry to get so worked up, but I'm a DIE HARD Whose Line fan, so when people spell it with two r's, I get offended. I don't like being offended.

You mean Andie McDowell. I'd have to say that one is my favourite of the Actors Studio sketches as it's the only one I've seen!
