[MADtv] The Mary Scheer Timeline

In 1995 Fox was looking for people to become cast members on their new late night sketch show MADtv. After taking alumni's, they wanted someone who was experienced in sketch comedy. Their first choice was Mary Scheer from the Groundlings. Though appearing in movies and television shows at bit parts, Mary had never really broken into either medium. MADtv was the perfect place for Mary to break through on television, and use her Groundlings experience. She was hired and that began her entrance into television, specifically on MADtv. Here is a timeline for one of the original cast members who left far too soon before her time for someone else. This is the Mary Scheer timeline.

1995: Mary is picked up as a cast member for a new late-night show on Fox called MADtv.

October 14, 1995: First episode of MADtv. Mary's first episode (in the casting search sketch). The first Mrs. Jewel Barone sketch is performed. Watch the Mrs. Jewel Barone sketch

November 18, 1995: The first Debbie Dander sketch is performed.

January 6, 1996: Mary appears as Lily Don in the Joe and Lily Don sketches for the first time and as Debbie Dander for the last time.

February 3, 1996: Mary plays Connie Linder in the Linder's sketches for the first time.

Season 2 1996-1997: Mary gets pregnant during season 2, but still manages to remain a regular on MADtv.

Summer 1997: Mary has her baby over the summer, but still returns for MADtv season 3

September 28, 1996: Mary appears as Dixie Wetsworth in the Cabana Chat sketches for the first time. Watch the sketch

October 5, 1996: Mary plays Mrs. Vigor in the Killer Grandma sketches for the first time.

January 4, 1997: Mary plays Mrs. Vigor in the Killer Grandma sketches for the last time.

February 8, 1997: Mary plays Lily Don in the Joe and Lily Don sketches for the last time.

April 26, 1997: Mary plays Connie Linder in the Linder's sketches for the last time.

January 6, 1998: The last Mrs. Jewel Barone sketch is performed. Watch the sketch

March 23, 1998: Mary plays Dixie Wetsworth in the Cabana Chat sketches for the last time. Watch the sketch

1998: Mary leaves MADtv to focus more on being a full time mother to her new child.

Life After MAD

Mary did not do much since leaving MAD, as she spent more time taking care of her child, but after the child got old enough to take care of itself more, she got back into the entertainment industry. She recently appeared in the kid's shows The Suite Life of Zach and Cody, and iCarly. She also has a large background in voice acting, doing shows like Family Guy (as most former MADtv cast members do), and the direct-to-video movie Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker, but her biggest role outside of MADtv would come on the show MXC, a show done in the late 80's in Japan that is re-dubbed in English. Mary plays all the woman roles, and is credited as Everygirl. In the 4th and final season of the show, Mary became an official producer. The last not seen dubbed episode was released in February 2007, and it is likely that the show is done for good. A return appearance on MADtv is entirely possible (she has not been on the show since her departure) if the executive ask her, but it does not look like it is going to happen anytime soon. I would like to see her back, coughing up stuff (Mrs. Barone), or swooning over a new pool boy (Cabana Chat) or just doing something MADtv related, so that we don't forget that she used to really make us laugh in the days when our show was just trying to break onto the scene.

yeah well she guest stars on Zack and Cody and she has a recurring character on ICARLY too...so i am pretty sure they have pictures but i do not know where.

She is def. one of the all time greats of this show. I wish they would have her back to guest star, I want another Mrs. Vigor, Mrs. Jewel Barone, and of course another Cabana Chat!
