Phil LaMarr Will Guest Star on the New Series "World Cup Comedy"
World Cup Comedy is a new show on PAX. When I was watching my Balderdash tape with Debra I saw a commercial for this show and it showed Phil LaMarr on it.
The weekly one-hour series, executive-produced by Kelsey Grammer ("Frasier"), brings the hysterical frenzy of improvisational comedy competitions together with "smoke and mirror" effects of today’s television. In each episode, two teams featuring the improv circuit’s best comedians compete against one another using unscripted real-life scenarios performed on various sets, in specific genres of movies and television programs. The comedians must overcome the unexpected surprises while our team of commentators, Dan O’Connor ("Wayne Brady Show" "Seinfeld") and Mary Gallagher ("Friends" "Mad About You"), offer the audience a play-by-play on how each team is faring and roving "sideline" reporter, Stephen Kearin ("Curb Your Enthusiasm"), gives his hilarious commentary. Each show features six different rounds of competition voted on by the audience with the winning team going on to face a new comic challenger in the next episode.Yahoo! TV has says this show is a "Comedy contest between men and women of the United Kingdom and Australia", but then it has the original airdate listed as November 6, 1999. "World Cup Comedy" premieres Wednesday, October 6, 8/7c. There's a picture on my TV when I play the video tape. Only thing though is there's no way I can transfer it- not even digital camera, sorry.
Also I forgot to mention, but Phil may never be "announced" as being a guest star before his actual ep airs- most likely I will find it on the tv guides, but you never know. I thought that PAXtv was a religious channel... Whenever MADtv made fun of PAXtv shows they would say stuff like: "You're watching PAXtv... Why aren't you in church!?"
