Biography:
Aries Spears, born in Chicago and raised in New Jersey, began his love for comedy at the young age of 14, when he started his own comedy routine. When he was 17, he appeared in his first movie: "Home of Angels". During the 1990s, he appeared in several other films and as extras on TV shows occasionaly before getting on MADtv in 1997. He stayed with MADtv for 8 years. He left in 2005, the show's 10th season. Since leaving MADtv in 2005, he has appeared on a new sketch comedy show "The Underground", has done a stand-up circut, and has appeared in several movies.

Where are they now?
As of Spring 2007, Aries is currently working on his new sketch comedy show, "The Underground". He also has recently done voice-over work for a few Disney and Nick cartoons. Additionaly, he is working on a project featuring an unnamed MADtv character of his, and is also doing a stand-up routine.

Named after the astrological sign of the ram and having acted in a movie opposite an Oscar winner, comedian Aries Spears has had a varied career.

After this weekend, the staple of the "Mad TV" Fox television program will be able to add Muskegon to his resume.

Spears, 29, will perform his standup comedy act twice Friday and Saturday night at Ninos Underground Comedy Club.

A Chicago native raised in New Jersey, the Los Angeles started playing around with comedy when he was 14. By 17 he was performing professionally.

Spears is best-known for being a "Mad TV" principal cast member for eight of the show's nine seasons. The airs at 11 p.m. Saturdays on FOX and concludes its final season this week.

Spears not only performs on "Mad TV" but also does impersonations, writes sketches and creates characters. His characterizations have included Mother Love, The Klump Family, El Diablo Negro and the Talkin' American. His impersonations range from James Brown to Al Pacino to Eddie Murphy.

Starting in comedy clubs, Spears at 17 landed a part in the movie "Home of Angels" starring Abe Vigoda and Sherman Helmsley. He portrayed comedian Redd Foxx in the movie "Why Do Fools Fall in Love?"

In 1996, he appeared as the brother of a professional football player portrayed by Cuba Gooding Jr. in director Cameron Crowe's mega-hit "Jerry Maguire." Gooding won the Academy Award as best supporting actor.

Spears also has released a live comedy album entitled "I Ain't Scared." He has appeared on the daytime TV drama "A Different World" and the Fox series "The Adventures of Brisco County Jr." He starred in the short-lived CBS series "South of Sunset" with Glenn Frey, former guitarist of the Eagles band.
