I was watching 20/20 a few nights ago (the NZ edition, not the US one) and at the end of the show they had a segment called "Net Highlights" or something, where they show a funny clip from the internet. In the intro bit, which is just a montage of bits they've used in the past, there was a few seconds of Frank's stand up on Letterman. I thought they were going to show part of it on the show, but they didn't, they must've showed his Bush impression in the past. Anyway, I thought that was cool.

On a semi-related note, it's too bad the show wraps up so long before the season actually ends, because a parody of R.V. would have been the PERFECT place to use Frank's Robin Williams one last time.

For those in the Bay Area, Frank Calieno will be (call in?) on Live 105.3's Morning Music Co-op with Woody, Tony, and Ravey. THIS MONDAY (5/22) I'm not sure when he's on, the show goes from 5-10, but if anyone is interested, he'll be doing something. They promo him as "Frank Calieno from MADtv." Maybe he's talking about MAD, or maybe his standup carreer.

Live 105.3 streams online. You can listen to the interview from anywhere. For those of you in NY, or whatever, I'm sure it's easier for you to catch the thing online.

I tried to post this in the Submit News To Us FOrum but it seemed no one has it but Frank Caliendo will be back again this season to pick football for FOX's NFL pre-game show this season.

They will be a couple of changes for the show this season including a new host for the show in which Jack Buck will take over for James Brown who went to CBS to host their football pre-game show "The NFL Today". All the show will be on the road this season because Jack Buck is the Main Announcer for the football games and that Jillian Barberie was dropped as the show's weathergirl.

Hey everyone... I've been meaning to write a bunch of times...but i always get
far behind... either working ... or spending (the little bit of) free time i
have with my family.

I've been getting tons of emails asking me 2 main questions.

1. Are you still doing the FOX pregame show?

2. Are you coming back to MadTv?

The answers to the questions are 1- yes and 2- no.

I've just decided to move on from madtv. I thought the show was quite good last
year, but I just feel like i have a different style of comedy than the show did
most of the time. I feel I got to do some great things there -- from the Madden
Popcorn Popper... to the Bush/Kerry debate sketch. They're revamping the show
even more this year... so it could really be a rejuvenated show. Yeah, Bobby
Lee will probably run around naked... but why not, right? .

Some people will be sad I'm gone -- (Yes, you, Eric Matilano (a guy who emailed
me last week)... but others will be very happy (Uh, huh... Cartman2002 of
Planetmadtv.... your dreams will finally come true-- ha-- how fast before this
gets posted on the site???????? (Unfortunately, I agreed with some of your
comments about my stuff--ugh, another John Madden sketch? come on!!!!!!!!!!!--
Well.. maybe that's not perfect, I might need to get hit by a semi to make your
dream come true).


As for the FOX pregame show... Look out, Bradshaw. If you're still bald... I'll
still be pointing it out.

Oh, did i mention I have a pilot for my own show? We'll be shooting in
Sept/Oct. I'm acting, writing, and exec producing on it... It's tentatively
called "Chappelle's show"... but I think we'll have to change the name because
of a possible law suit. I just thought name recognition would be good for the
show.... Maybe I'll just call it "Mind of Caliencia"... Wait... just got a note
from the lawyer on that one, too.

SO................ just to review:

1. Done with Mad
2. Still making picks on Sundays
3. Might have my own show on in 2007.

More news to come.

This new theme song idea has been brough up before, but I just don't see that happening. Friends never changed their theme song, most all popular shows don't change theme songs. But I'm still excited for the new revamp. New writers, perhaps? I'd like new credits, though.

A revamp is definitely what is needed the last couple seasons post season 8 had potential to be a lot better than they were hopefully they have learnt from some of the past mistakes.

A revamp is definitely what is needed the last couple seasons post season 8 had potential to be a lot better than they were hopefully they have learnt from some of the past mistakes.

Although last season wasn't any better than S9/10 (hell it was even worse), by the end of last season you could tell it was taking a turn for the better. The final episode was full of original sketches...whether it being a sign of the writers just wanting to go out on a bang, or whether they finally realized "hey...we need to start improving, and fast" won't be proven until later this season, though. That, plus Frank and Nicole RJ look really good, all keeps me psyched for S12.
