Mean Girls #1 Movie at Weekend Box Office!
As if SNL couldn't be overrated enough...
The teen comedy Mean Girls was the highest grossing movie at the box office over the weekend. I'm sure you guys have already found out about this. Maybe it's because I'm out of high school and I'm not a teenybopper. But this Tina Fey-penned, Lorne Michaels-produced piece of crud appears to be another generic, girl-power, angst-ridden, dumbed-down teen comedy -- complete with bitch-whore jokes, sexual/drug humor, stupid slapstick, and other BS that only Tina Fey could deliver. It's just ironic how Mean Girls is an enormous hit, considering how awful SNL has been for LONG time. Not to mention how bad Tina Fey, Tim Meadows, etc. are at acting/writing. Now, SNL projects such as this usually bomb big time. So I'm quite surprised (and dismayed) that Mean Girls has won so much critical acclaim and has became such a smash hit among the American populace. All the while MADtv talent like Orlando Jones are stuck supporting B-rated movies like Evolution. All of this goes back to what Jim Cockhurtz once said: "Lorne Michaels pimps SNL cast members to Hollywood and to mainstream America." Any thoughts, guys?

Ugh, that movie looks like a piece of sh*t. I don't know why everyone's making a big deal about it. Just another teenybopper flick.
 But I agree with you, this is just more overexposure for SNL. *gag*

I haven't seen it yet but it did get 4 stars, and everyone i know who saw it loved it, and i'm not a "teenybopper", and don't hang out with them. I'll report back if/when i see it
 , but i think looks pretty good, despite who wrote it, and is actually not too far from the real way girls act, take from a girl who knows lol

This movie was supposed to be great. 4 stars doesnt come around all the time. And it didnt just do well because it was written by Tina Fey.

Well everyone I've talked to loved it.. but then again the people are talk to don't have the best choices of entertainment..

Yeah I agree, she wasn't that great on SNL but i'm a big fan of Tina Fey so I think i'll check the movie out this weekend. As far as the 4 stars thing goes, I don't really like movie critics. They get on my nerves but it should be a good movie.

I kinda want to see it.Im not a teenybopper either (i make fun of them),but who wants to miss an opprotunity to see one of America's most popular teen actresses get made fun of?Even if its just a movie.And even if Im not an SNL fan,but I do think Tina Fey is funny.Plus,it got good reviews.And my friend and I got to all the teenybopper movies as a joke,and this ones on our agenda.
