Post The Alex Borstein Timeline

After season 2 of MADtv, almost half of the original cast had left. The executives had to find new cast members to replace the departed ones, and for any possible departures in the future for season 3. One cast member that would be hired to this group would be a young Alex Borstein. At 5.2, Alex was one of the smallest cast members in the history of the show, but what she lacked in size she made up for in talent. This timeline will chronicle the MADtv life of Alex Borstein. You will learn things you already knew, and learn things you probably didn't know. So everyone out there on Planet MADtv, get ready as "I tell yu" what you need to know about Alex Borstein.

Life After MAD

After MADtv, Alex would go on to focus more on writing, and voicing on the show Family Guy (which she was already doing from her 2nd to her 5th season). In 2002 (a year after she had left MAD) the show was cancelled. After the show was cancelled, Alex went on to do small bit roles on television, and in movies like Bad Santa, Catwoman, and Good Night and Good Luck. She had a major role in the Lizzie McGuire Movie, and wrote a part of the direct-to-video movie Stewie Griffin, the Untold Story. In 2005 after reruns, and DVD sales of the show Family Guy developed a big cult following for the show, Fox decided to bring the show back again. To this day Alex still writes, and voices for the show. It is one of her top priorities right now.
Even though she left MADtv after her 5 year contract was up, that did not mean that she did not enjoy doing the show. There is even a rumour that Alex has written a movie script for her most famous character Ms. Swan (but that is most likely considered just a rumour). She would not forget the show where she was able to make the her, and her characters like Ms. Swan famous by making guest appearances after leaving the show.

November 8, 2003: Alex makes her first appearance on the show since leaving. Appearing in the 200th episode (of MADtv), Alex appears in 2 sketches. One as Ms. Swan, and one as Karen Goddard. Watch the Ms. Swan sketch, Watch the Goddard sketch

February 5, 2005: Alex guests on MADtv again in the 10th season. She appeared in 2 sketches, playing Ms. Swan, and Mrs. Brightling. Watch the Ms. Swan sketch

2007: Alex was supposed to make a guest appearance on MADtv's 300th episode in season 13, but due to a Hollywood Writers Strike at the time, she was unable to attend.

Well, now I have "told yu" everything you need to know about Alex Borstein, the wonderful woman who graced the stage of MADtv for 5 years. Let's hope we haven't seen the last of Mrs. Borstein on our show. I am hoping that she can make up for her missed season 13 guest appearance and return again, because for me personally, I could never get enough Alex on MADtv.

Ms. Swan was the first MADtv sketch my school teacher showed me... I loved the way she moves and speaks. And I didn't even know her name then! Great job, tvman.

PS: The first time I saw her name, I thought the name was a guy's
