Side Note - Was Anjelah Johnson and Dan Oster Dancers in the Ipod Commercial with Nicole Parker? Because people in it looked like them.


And how do people get chosen to be either cast members or fp? Like Johnny, Arden, and Mo (wasn't she?) all were regulars right away, now people like Anjelah, Alex B, Nicole P, etc. all started as featured players. Is there a reason for this? Or do they just see more talent in the people that get lead spots right away?

Without even going back and checking, I can guarantee to almost a complete certainty that no, they weren't.

Maybe not the best ever, but certainly the best since Season 4.

5 was still decent even though a lot people accuse it as being the season where the writing started to slip. 10 had it's moments but it wasn't that great because it had like 85 cast members

listen guys. i've known johnny sanchez for 12 years. he is a virtual legend at the sunset comedy store and funnier then most people. plus, he is a very nice guy. he's not going anywhere, so you better get used to him. hahahaha.....it doesn't matter cuz i'm leaving the show in 5 weeks.

I too call MADtv on making this move. I've been putting up with this show for 13 years and I don't like how MADtv treats any of its castmembers. The girl only had four episodes and she only appeared once in each one. Yet she proved more with something like Bon Qui Qui, compared to Johnny whose character shows up midseason and leaves people questioning why they still watch the show.

My point is that for the past couple of years, the show has been getting rid of underrated cast members such as Nicole RJ, Frank Caeti, Daniele (who vanished during S11), and the list goes on. MADtv is a mess right now, and apparently they lack one of the most important qualities of life: common sense. I say that because common sense would tell you to keep a strong performer over someone who uses racial humor and doesn't even do a stellar job at it.

Look, I think in all fairness to Johnny, Season 13's been awful. It's all, or mostly all because of the horrible writing. I think Nicole Parker's been bad, Arden's been bad, Jordan's been bad, Keegan's been bad.. the list goes on and on of cast members that were very funny in Season 12 and now extremely unfunny in Season 13.

So I think it's safe to say that the reason Nicole, Arden, Jordan, Keegan et al have been so bad is the writing.

Let's hold Johnny to the same standard as the other four cast members- until the writing improves, it's unfair to expect Johnny to produce A+ material. I'm still waiting out on my judgment of him- although to this point, admittedly, it's not a high one. But I'm certainly hoping he'll do better in the episodes to come.

You know what I'm pretty sure he is a nice guy, and him sticking around--who knows maybe I'll change my mind if he's given the chance to prove himself the remainder of the season or for that matter A) however long the show lasts and B) however long he stays on the show.

At the same time I'm not going to sit here, sugarcoat my commentary and make it seem like I'm happy-go-lucky about the season. Obviously there isn't too much of a consensus that is 100% in favor of Johnny. Yeah all of us here at the forum understand that doing comedy is not an easy business. This is my main problem: the writing has gone so downhill that the roles given to Johnny make me dislike him plain and simple. But you have to realize, Bobby, that we as the audience to MADtv are not subject to tolerate material we don't find worthwhile; similar to that sense, you as a castmember (alongside the rest of your castmates) are not subject to tolerate the way the show is treating you.
