![]() ![]() ![]() Full Name: Anjelah Nicole Johnson [news] Date of Birth: May 14th, 1982 Place of Birth: San Jose, CA Height / Weight: 5'3" / <unknown> Seasons on MADtv: 13 (2007 - 2008) Notable Characters:Celebrity Impressions:
Anjelah Nicole Johnson, a native of San Jose, CA, was born in 1982 to Mexican and Native American parents. She claims her family and the support they offer have been key to her success in showbiz, and as a sibling of five, her mother a sibling of eight, and her grandmother of 22, one can easily understand why. A devout Christian through and through, Anjelah's love for performing is surpassed only by her love for God. She applies her faith to each and every aspect of her life and truly believes the success she's enjoyed thus far is only the beginning of what He has in store. As early as 1990, Anjelah was already on the rugged road to stardom. At the tender age of eight, she began cheerleading with Pop Warner -- an organization that provides youth football and cheer/dance programs around the world -- and chose to stick with her new passion all throughout high school and college. Her hard work and perseverance, in time, culminated with her hiring as a professional cheerleader by the NFL's Oakland Raiders. During her tenure with the Raiders, she was named Rookie of the Year, was featured on ESPN's "The Making of a Raiderette", and even performed in Super Bowl XXXVII! Yet, despite all her newfound success, Anjelah felt she needed a change. After completing her third year of college, the San Jose bombshell picked up shop and moved out to Los Angeles to pursue a career in the entertainment industry. Knowing that comedy was her calling, she registered for a stand-up comedy class, and before she knew it, she found herself performing stand-up all across North America in comedy clubs, churches, casinos, universities, and even for United States troops in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba! Since then, this rising star has landed herself guest roles on "Love Inc.", FX's Emmy & Golden Globe Award-winning cop drama, "The Shield", and has also appeared in a myriad of advertisements of both the television and print varieties. Where are they now? As of February 2008, Anjelah has parted ways with MADtv. Looking forward, she intends to continue touring the nation with her stand-up act until she lands her next big break. Wow, my first post. :] So I'm actually really excited that Anjelah Johnson will be featured on Mad TV, she definitely has a lot of potential. I found out about her a couple of months ago when my friend showed me a stand-up she did where she was mocking Vietnamese Nail Salons (which I can say is DEAD on!) and Mexican family cultures. You can find those performances here on YouTube:

Will she do Paula Abdul or will Nicole Parker in Season 14? Will Abdul appear at all?

I hope that Nicole Parker still does Paula Abdul. If they're following history, they'll wait until Nicole Parker leaves to have Anjelah do Paula Abdul (the best example would be with Will Sasso and Frank Caliendo-Frank taking over Bush, Pacino, De Niro etc once will left). I'd love to see Anjelaj impersonate J-Lo though.

So, Anjelah has appeared in one sketch, and according to our stats, she's already the 23rd most popular cast member of all-time.

I don't blame anyone for liking Anjelah; she has the potential to be the leading lady in the cast some day.

She should have been given more of a chance.

agreed. I liked her Bon Qui Qui, I feel like thats the only chance they gave her, cause all of her other roles were small, and she only appeared once.

A lot of us on here are all sad that she wasn't given a chance to the extent Daheli and Dan were given. However, you have to keep in mind that when you're cast as a featured player, you're deliberately competing for your spot on the show. Chances are she didn't enter prepared with as much material as most likely Dan and Daheli. While the Bon Qui Qui sketch was a good 5 minutes from #1308, it wasn't enough to compete with Daheli nor Dan who appeared multiple times in their episodes. Her stand up routine, while comedic in some points, did not strike many of the viewers as classy or original as Dan's routine. Similar to Daheli, IMO based off the Alphabetology sketch, Dan had a unique take on stand up as well adding in a unique take on a play of words. I do give props to Anjelah for trying, but in reality it wasn't hard enough.

From the lady herself...
"Good times on MADtv For those of you that do not know, I am no longer on MADtv. After the writers strike there were some budget cuts, and by budget cuts I mean "me". hahaha. But seriously, I had a lot of fun on the show. It was a learning experience and I met a lot of really cool people. I completed my 4 episodes and I was blessed with the opportunity to introduce my own character, "Bon Qui Qui". Bon Qui Qui has become a hit on You Tube and that is thanks to all of you! I had so much fun writing and staring in this sketch. I guess if you want air time you gotta write it yourself! ;-) I'm looking forward to what God has in store for me next. I'm sure it's something amazing. Right now I am touring with my stand up comedy and I'm having the best time. I'll update you all as soon as I have something in the works. Until then, check my calendar for tour dates in your area! Thanks so much for all the love and support! Be blessed; be a blessing, Anjelah Johnson" Loads of pictures here __________________ What happened to Andrae? ![]() |

Was this directed to? The Planet MADtv members, or something on her myspace, or website?

![]() I'm glad to hear that things are going well for dear Anj. Hmm, Bon Qui Qui and Lisa Donovan are hits on YouTube; and NRJ's Darrell is a hit everywhere else in the universe. Now all three ladies have taken up permanent residence on Memory Lane. What's not adding up here? Oh, that's right: "MADtv" doesn't do addition anymore, only subtraction, as in "three featured players minus three equal self-sabotage." Meh, it's a crying shame that the show can't seem to recognize a good thing when it's right under everyone's nose. Oh, I'm still a fan; don't get me wrong. I just needed a whiny moment. ![]() __________________ "Charles Nelson Reilly is a bad mutha...." "Shut yo' mouth!" "I'm talkin' 'bout Macho Chuck." "We can dig it!" |
