[MADtv] Opening Credits

Has anyone noticed the way they've changed the Opening Credits on MADtv since Alex Borestein left. Before the little "MADtv" voice used to be like "It's MAD TV....starring Alex Borestein,..." and then continue on with the rest of the names but now all it says is "With, Ike Barinholtz(sp?)." I wonder if it has to do with the fact that he's a newbie and they don't want people to think he's the "starring person" even though it really is supposed to include everyone. (That sounds confusing, but I'm sure someone out there knows what I'm talking about (: For a time I actually thought Alex Borstein was the leading star of the show, but then I noticed it was for all of them and they just put them in alphabetical order. Does anyone else have anything else on this? It's just that I'm a fanatic over the opening credits cause I love the theme song and like hearing how the people scream when each cast member is presented.

Maybe they thought it made it sound like Alex was the main star by saying it only starred her, you know? Brings up good memories of the best episode closing ever when she made everyone stand far away and had the camera come in close and had her tell the audience it was 'her' show, LOL!

Okayy. But the reason they say "with..." isn't because Ike's a newbie.

It still says that, I just played it, except there's a slight delay... "It's MADtv.....(some graphics).....with Ike Barinholtz".

They need to ditch the cheesy voice-over (no disrespect to Frank, the theme song just doesn't work with ANY voice-over) and do new graphics for next season.

They usually re-do the graphics every couple seasons anyway. And this current style will expire by the end of this season, so I think we should be seeing a new style in Season 10.

I think the reason they do the voice over is probably because they think if they announce the names, people might remember the actors better which will make the show more popular. Just a guess. But I agree, the voice-over needs to go. It's too SNL. And you're right about new graphics next season too. They should put pictures of Alfred E. Neuman in them again.

I agree with Hivolt about Mo being in the opening credits. They should have taken her off a while back, and stepped up some of the featured players. No offense to Mo, she is one of my faves, but it's blatently obvious that she's not on the show now. Next season, I'm expecting a mass exodus of new cast members, what with most of the new ones being stepped up (hopefully!) and more than likely, new featured players. Nicole and Daniele have been around long enough and appeared enough to be put in the Regular cast!!!

Side note: No offense to Mo fans, and I can understand why they are still including her: the show is likely to suffer, ratings wise, when she leaves.

Yeah, it will be very interesting to see what they come up with next season.

Somehow i cant see them changing the whole theme song (its too good for that lol) they might "upgrade" it though by adding some new tunes or something.

I like the old mix of the theme song. I like the current, hip hoppish (is that even it?) remix, but the original was hella tight.

The voice over should definitely go. The SNL one works because Don Pardo really fits with the music, but the MADtv theme doesn't mesh well with announcing.

aww... i like the announcer... i hope they keep it. Also, I know MAD's not responsible but on the Channel Listing/Guide it says like: MADtv Frank Caliendo (This was from like last year) so its like alphabetical... but when Nicole was on it said MADtv Nicole Sullivan... Like WTF? That hardly seems fair.
