Why I haven't been posting lately...

Some of you may have noticed (or you better have ) that I haven't been active in this forum lately. Part of the reason is my decline in interest in MADtv. I just don't feel the show is ever going to get any better (well lately it has a bit) and stop the juvinile potty-humour that makes me feel like I'm baby sitting grade eights. While sometimes I enjoy it, I more feel the target audience is more directed at pre-teens than anyone else. I still however watch the show every week (mainly for Ron!...and a few other reasons) but I don't bother taping it anymore.

And lately the people I used to hang out here with just aren't posting much anymore for me to enjoy the discussions as much, which hasn't helped nonetheless.

Yeah i know what u mean the show has definitely targeted a younger age group than it did in its earlier seasons (when they did parodies of such shows like "I Love Lucy", " Laverne and Shirley" etc i know there are heaps more i just cant think of any) and maybe we just have to accept that it will never be as good as it once was. On the other hand u never know what season 10 has in store!

Even though I am a younger person, I have to agree with Mad Dog. Although I still enjoy Madtv right now. LOL

I can understand how you could think that MAD'S in a lul right now, but I don't think that it's glory days have ended. I think that they've nearly just begun. With SNL Begining to suck more and more each week, MAD tv's bound to attract more attention, especially since it's on Comedy Central now! Even with out mo, there are bound to be breakout stars! I'm not saying watch the show if you don't like it, but don't give up on it either, because you have to have some down time before a really great uproar. It's just LIke economics (and sex-LOL!)

I think this season is great! Not the best but, not horrible either. I only wish Debra was still a part of it.
And I wouldn't stop watching, if it were me. Cus then the ratings go down and there won't be a chance for MADtv to redeem itself, cus it'll be cancelled

SHHH!!! don't say the cancelled word, it's bad luck! I doubt it will get cancelled, though, even if snl gets better ratings because they have stupid guest hosts, MAD still rocks, and, even though last nights snl was pretty good, MAd tv is alot funnier than snl most of the time.

Well it's not that the show hasn't been getting better. cause it is...it's just it's more about empty attempts for quick ratings than quality original and creative comedy.

I haven't been posting nearly as much, either. I just don't have as much time as I used to. I'm definitely sticking around, though. I'm not going anywhere.

I must say that my interest in MADtv is probably declining, just as Mad Dog said. As much as I try to like the newer episodes, I just don't get that same feeling as when I watch the older ones. I think that they have lost almost every vital cast member these past couple years and they haven't found replacements that are even close to being worthy. I can't stand a lot of the current cast. I really try to like it because I've never disliked MADtv before, but I just think it is mostly pretty bad. At least Comedy Central is airing MADtv now, so I can re-watch a lot of the older episodes and actually see them uncut and not hacked in half like on TNN.

I also prefer the older seasons, but I will always be a MADtv fan. Season 9 has been decent for the most part, guest appearances by Nicole twice, and the other former cast has made it better. They should do this more often, and I'm hoping they will.

I think we've seen less musical guests this season so far, compared to last?
