Default Episode S14E09 (Aired 2008-12-13)

MADtv: Best of Christmas Sketches Spectacularly Special Spectacular

Special Appearances by Current Castmembers (New Footage): Bobby Lee, and Keegan-Michael Key

Special Appearances by Current Castmembers (Old Footage): Crista Flanagan, Nicole Parker, and Arden Myrin

Special Appearances by Former Castmembers (Old Footage): Ron Pederson, Michael McDonald, Ike Barinholtz, Stephnie Wier, Jordan Peele, Aries Spears, Nicole Sullivan, Pat Kilbane, Nicole Randall Johnson, and Frank Caeti

Cast listings don't include animated content or voiceovers.

Connie Chung (Bobby Lee) comes down a chimney set on the MADtv set in front of the big screen wearing only her underwear to welcome everyone to MADtv's Christmas show, but she is also there to have a fireside chat/interview with president elect Barack Obama (Keegan-Michael Key). When Connie mentions Barack as his good friend, he states to everyone that he is not her friend and the only reason he is there is because he lost a bet with Joe Biden. When asking the questions, Connie accidently mixes up the questions with an entry into her diary, and the notes for her DMV test. She then says that sitting in her underwear asking the wrong questions to Barack Obama is the lowest moments for her, which Barack finds hard to believe.

Ambercrombie Black and White: #1009

The Reinfather: #209

Tickle me Emo: #1209

Rooftop Memories: #511

Connie now changes to her uniform from her job at Panda Time. When Connie asks if Barack thinks she is pretty, Barack switches the subject to what he and his family will be doing for Christmas which Connie is surprised about as she didn't think Muslims (pronounces it as Mooslem) celebrated Christmas. Barack then corrects her saying that he is not Muslim or Mooslem and then introduces another sketch so that he can stop talking to Connie for a while.

Stuart: Mall Santa: #1109

Maury and Connie's All-Star Christmas Spectacular #1: #1209

When Connie asks Barack what he will do for Christmas, he says that he and his wife Michelle will be donating their time to do charity. Connie then asks if Barack is poor or just cheap. Barack then states that he and Michelle find doing charity more valuable than any gift. When he asks what she will be getting she says a roofie from Maury so that she won't be conscious for what he is about to do to him. Barack then says that he doesn't want to get into that in a literal sense and segway's into the next sketch.

Frosty: #1209

April's Christmas #1: #810

Saw 4: Jingle Hell: #1209

Connie is now nude because Fox said that she couldn't wear her Panda Time uniform because it was free advertising. They then close the show and Connie and Barack go around the audience and shake hands.

That's right people, a best of Christmas episode. When I saw this I actually screamed NO! out loud. How could they do this?!

FRICK. But this does basically confirm more than 14 episodes in the season.

We didn't get a christmas episode last season so at least the sketches have to be season 12 and prior. But Obama and Connie Chung?? Desperation much?

Who was it that called that the Christmas episode would be a clip show?

Considering all the previous clip shows, I expect this one to be pretty shitty, but I hope they at least do a couple of actual sketches this time, not just some random in between bits.

1. The Barack/Connie thing can be funneh if they do it right
2. If someone sober picks the clips, it can be a very good episode
3. If they mix new clips with old ones, it can be very good

C'mon people! You have to be optimistic! They just might surprise you!

Here are the sketches that I think they are going to do in this episode.

A Maury and Connie Christmas where the pig poops (season 12).
Sarah Discovers Santa (season 8).
The Rudolf Godfather sketch (Season 1) for the 700th time! Honest to God I wish this sketch would be retired. This will be like the 6th time they use it in ether an encore or best of type form
Possibly the Fuddermuckers Christmas sketch (Season 11)
Stuart at Santa's Workshop (Season 11)
Vancome Lady as Santa Elf (Season 1)
Possibly Antonia Visits Santa (Season 3)
Non-Prejudice Office (Season 8)

I know that there are going to be more but I can't think of them right now. These are just guesses but they are appropriate guesses.

I also noticed that with Nicole technically gone, this special will be hosted by the 2 most Senior members of MADtv Bobby and Keegan.

I See that the budget is down so they won't do a ALL NEW Christmas special, and considering MADtv is leaving, they are not really in the Christmas spirit to do any type of Special Episodes.

You know it says fan favourite, but do the fans get to vote? I mean it is a fan favourite show, or a fan favourite show which was voted on by whatever member of the crew has watched the show and was there when they asked.

They played the Christmas episode on the 20th December back in season 9 and the 21st back in season 8, so they might do the best of on the 13th and then the traditional episode on the 20th. Otherwise, there will likely only be one "new" episode for the entire month of December and it will be a recrap of past sketches. That would b-l-o-w.

In terms of sketches, I think Tickle Me Emo is a given. I would hope they wouldn't play Raging Rudolph for the 10 millionth time, but I wouldn't put it past them. I would much rather see the Frosty the Snowman sketch from 1209. They should just replay the season 12 christmas episode (although obviously they can't if Comedy Central owns the rights...). It will no doubt have better content than the best of.

that would be three years in a row with the S12 XMas episode. I'd rather none at all.

Unforetunately, Tickle me Elmo will happen. Probably the Maury and Connie one too.

Why is that unfortunate? Tickle me Emo was one of the best sketches of Season 12.

I'd also like them to air the Santa vs. Bush sketch from 1209, and/or Saw IV: Jingle Hell. If this clip show is anything like the others, I'd imagine most of the sketches would be from seasons 9-12 anyway, so they'd probably air all of these.

The guy who won the MADtv impression contest (EdBassMaster) is under the impression that he is going to be on the "December 12" episode of MAD (which would be the day before this one airs...) so it might have some new material.

What the heck?! Yet another Best Of, and with Barrack Obama and Connie Chung hosting, no less. What do the two even have in common?! Seriously?! Christmas Best Of? I'm going to faint.

No, no, no, no, no, no more best of's

btw I was the one who said that they'd be doing a best of Christmas in a post a while back. Forget which thread I said it in though.

I hope they do a Tori McLachlan encore, the Tickle Me Emo sketch, and the Christmas Sex sketch. Hell, this is basically a rerun of 1209, is it not?

Diane Sawyer Interviews Bobby and Whitney (Season 8) and Stuart visits Santa (Season 11) will both be in this episode.

How do you know this if you don't mind me asking Dartanian?

I don't know why they are even bothering doing this, just run the season 12 christmas episode. That ones a best of in it's own right.

I second the notion to just reair episode 1209. Aside from being one of my favorite Christmas episodes, it's definitely one of my favorite episodes, ever. If anything, the Secret Santa sketches and Tickle Me Emo.

Okay, really now... Obama and Connie? Really? We get it, Keegan has the best Obama on TV, we get it. Pair him up with Oprah, someone's character, anything! I used to enjoy Connie Chung, before the novelty wore off. Life goes on. I can only hope for greatness later down the line.

This episode worries me because if they do this for a Christmas episode, they may do a best of MADtv in one of the final episodes and maybe even best ofs for the last 4 episodes not including the blowout big bang final episode! Whoa I can't think like that, that gives me the chills.
