I just caught the beginning of #808, and Gillian's in it! She had an uncredited cameo opposite Michael at the beginning of the "The Real Bachelor" sketch. Her hair was a little shorter, but I could tell when she said her one line that it was definitely her. Is this the first time someone's been on the show before joining the cast?

No, Daniele Gaither was an extra in season 2. Read about it in the Daniele Gaither thread in this forum.

Can someone else verify this? Did someone else see Gillian.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it's her after watching it again.

Eh when I first started recording the eps it was when TNN was still airing them, and they were just starting season 5 so this was like a year ago. So I started recording the season 8 eps that came on, but I obviously missed some so I just recorded the rest as I saw them, so they're not in order. The only ones I have in order are the season 9 ones............Oh wait, I missed a few, damnit ok I guess I dont have any in order.

all but 3 of my tapes are 6 hour format, the other three being 8 hour format w/o commercials except for one tape that had about two episodes in it with commercials cuz i timer recorded them.

I record using SLP or EP mode and I end up usually getting between 8-9 eps per tape.

I have that one on tape. She played one of the groupies in the sketch with Bryan as Bill Clinton. The episode guest-starred Ice-T.

I was searching the web for stuff on Gillian, And I found this website with all these really cool indie animated short films.

Anyway, there's this one called "Burro" and it has these two women one of whom is a "burro" which is a donkey like animal.

Anyway, one of the women characters is voiced by Gillian, I watched it and thought it was really cool. Check it out:

EDIT: I found Gillian's name included on a email petition about Gay Rights.

she is number 144

SECOND CITY TROUPE TIGHT AND PROFESSIONAL.(A.M. MAGAZINE)(Review)

The Morning Call (Allentown, PA); 10/19/2000; Howell, Dave

Sketch comedy is like jazz -- it takes a long time to master, and it has to be done well to be enjoyable.

The Second City National Touring Company put on a jazzy performance at Moravian College's Foy Hall last Saturday night, presenting `Truth, Justice, or The American Way` to about 600 people in two shows sponsored by Touchstone Theatre to launch its 20th anniversary season.

The Second City touring companies (there are three troupes based in Chicago) are training grounds for younger performers (Mike Myers and Chris Farley are two alumni). The group at Foy has been together for a few months, and only two of the six members, Katie Caussin and Al Samuels, are `old timers,` having reached the ages of 33 with three years of touring experience.

But this performance of sketches and a few songs (backed by a pianist) was a tight, professional show featuring the best of various Second City revues. Not everything was funny, but most of it ranged from amusing to hilarious. One highlight had a housewife (Celeste Pechous) in a Kafkaesque situation dealing with a sinister utility company bureaucrat (Stuart Ranson). Another sketch had Samuels and Gillian Vigman as Civil War sweethearts writing letters to each other. The `plot` was determined by audience members who were invited to yell out ideas at certain points.

The last half-hour of the later show (which lasted two hours and 15 minutes) was all improvised, with cast members quickly exchanging characters and situations from suggestions called out by the crowd. This produced, for example, a story where two brothers parted because one committed a murder that turned into a musical and ended with a song sung by the whole cast (this is much funnier seen than described).

It is a tribute to the cast members that their energy and quick thinking made the improv as good as the rest of the show. You may not have seen them Saturday night, but the chances are you will hear about many of them in the future.

`BEST OF SECOND CITY' PROVES TO BE FIRST RATE
Byline: Nadine Goff For the State Journal
Edition: All
Section: Daybreak
Type: Review

A six-member touring ensemble filled the Starlight Theatre with laughter Friday night with its renditions of "The Best of Second City," but assiduously avoided electoral politics. There were no dimpled chads on the menu and when, during an improv sequence, an audience member responded to a query about what he feared most by saying, "Bush," the troupe quickly created a skit about trimming topiary.

Culture, schools, families, therapy and bigotry were on the menu. Most everyone's favorite course - and the one served up in the largest portions - was sex in all its glorious and curious permutations and combinations. Sometimes company members teased the audience by threatening to say aloud words rhyming with Venus and China. Other times, they went beyond teasing.
The two-hour program includes scenes and sketches from The Second City Archives, as well as original material. It was often difficult to tell, however, what was old material and what was new. Some things, including the ceaseless war of wits between teachers and students, seemed to have changed very little since members of The Second City, which is celebrating its 41st anniversary today, gave its first performance.

One of the best scenes in the show was the one that opened the second act, featuring a frustrated teacher trying unsuccessfully to explain to her students why the square root of two is an irrational number. Another hilarious scene involved a deceased nun's surprising record collection.

Katie Caussin, Robert Dassie, Celeste Pechous, Stuart Ranson, Al Samuels and Gillian Vigman are all talented performers, but Samuels often managed to keep his fellow cast members, as well as the audience, in stitches with his hilarious antics.

Each half of the show included a brief bit of improvisation, but most of the improv was saved for a 30-minute set that followed the main program. The cast worked hard and often came up with some amusing material, but the improv just wasn't as funny as the scripted material.

Hey, Robert Dassie was in it too. Hmm... there seem to be connections everywhere for these newer cast members. Just proves it's not what you know, it's who you know.
