Post "MADtv Movies" Nominated for 11 Razzie Awards!

Due to the fact that this is pretty insulting news, I wasn't sure weather to post this or not, but as Dart told me in this quote here, no award is unimportant, also the nomination doesn't directly insult a MADtv cast member, it just insults a movie a lot of them were in with supporting roles that most of us would agree the movie would have sucked from beginning to end without.

The Razzie Award is given to the creme ala creme of crappy movies every year in multiple categories. Movies that stink at the bottom of the movie society most of all. What 2 movies that I have called "MADtv movies (not for there quality, but for the fact that they had so many current and former cast members in them)" have graced this list not once, but 11 times combined for multiple categories? In the regular world, they go by the names of Meet the Spartans which feature MADtv current and former cast members Nicole Parker, Ike Barinholtz, and Crista Flanagan, and Disaster Movie which also stars Parker, Barinholtz, and Flanagan.

The nominations don't directly effect the aforementioned cast members in name, but they do effect them in certain categories. The categories include Worst Picture, Worst Rip-Off (hopefully not for there impressions), and Worst Screenplay (which effect the cast members because they were the ones that agreed to be in this movie after hearing the screenplay) for both movies. In fact since both movies were made by the same director, and were both equally bad, the Razzies had to combine them in these categories as a joint nomination so they wouldn't clog the nominations list. Other categories the movies were nominated in include Worst Actress Carmen Electra for both movies, and Kim Kardashian for Disaster Movie, and Jason Friedberg & Aaron Seltzer for Worst Director(s).

Kim Kardashian has already mentioned the nomination on her website saying "it's an honor just to be nominated" so there is a possibility that she could be accepting the awards for Disaster Movie if they win, but if she does not go who knows, maybe Crista, or Ike (Nicole can't because she will most likely be busy on Broadway with Wicked) can accept the awards for both movies, because as Kim said "it's an honor just to be nominated".

Its sad to hear those films are nominated for the Razzies but I would love to see the Razzies by broadcast on television even if its on Comedy Central.

I guess this can be expected, in a way. It's hard to sit through them even with the MADtv cast holding up the show.

Ah well, it's comforting to know no matter how much people slam MAD for having stupid humor, there's always a movie that's worse.

okay, i'm tired of parody movies getting critiqued and killed. parody movies make fun of really good movies, so really these movies were written to be bad parodies and stupid. like, roger ebert would sit through meet the spartens and think of 300 and say, "i hate this. this movie does no justice to 300." of course it doesn't. it's a parody movie.

anyway, i love the new cast and old cast of madtv and will watch any movies they're in. thank you, and have a pleasant tommorow.

It's one thing for a parody not to do justice to the original movie but it's also suppose to be funny. There are not funny. Except for the mad tv cast. They to make spoof with the mad tv cast and that would be funny.

Also I hate when they make jokes that have nothing to do with the genre that they are spoofing. If done right it can be good but sometimes some jokes are only in a movie because the movie/celebrity/ tv show or whatever happened within the last year.

i'd love to defend this movie for the sake of crista.. but unfortunately i didn't like it much. after reading reviews, i had the worst expectations, and so one thing i can say is that it was no worse than i expected. some of it was funny. i think crista, nicole, and ike did a great job with what they had to work with. and it seems like they had a really fun time making it

i came across this behind the scenes of disaster movie clip on youtube the other day, so if you'd like to see crista and nicole being hilarious and adorable (especially crista, in my completely unbiased opinion ), here you go..
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gB58YI-iqHs

i just can't get enough of this..

"when i tell you she's incredibly great.."
"i'm pretty amazing"

"hey, how many tv shows are you on?"
"a few. a few of em."

"do you know what we had to do to get her in this film? we had to call her mom up."
"mhm. my mom told me to do it."

"that's the only reason we got her. this is what i call a real actress."
*the most adorable smile you've ever seen! and a hug!*

By the sounds of that behind the scenes video, that G Thing seems to make the impression that Nicole and Crista are only in the movie because the movie was extremely lucky to get them, which is really flattering as that means that they are so big in Hollywood, that they are even bigger than the stinker this movie was.

There are some really good parody movies out there. Now, if you write a movie to be a bad parody and stupid, what can you say if it gets blasted?

"Studies show that IQ points have dropped by over 25% in the past 15 years..."

10 bucks (inflated) says that this is what news reporters will be saying in a couple years.

Well, I checked the Razzie winners and surprisingly even though Meet the Spartans and Disaster Movie were pretty bad it looks like there were a lot worse movies, as neither of them won any awards. I guess that's good?
