I remember Jeff doing the Louie Anderson impression on SNL once too. Just as funny as Will's. tastyjeff.com has all of Jeff's funniest SNL moments on video, check em out.

It really sucks that SNl fired him, SNL is bad enough this season and Jeff was one of few people I still liked on there. His absense is only hurting the show more. He'll find work again I'm sure, his impressions are great.

I'm really almost depressed that he's gone. I still can't get a real answer on why, and you're right, he was one of the few guys that I really like. The only ones that keep me watching now are seth and will. if they go, I don't think I'll even bother tuning in!

I did stand-by for SNL again for the Drew Barrymore episode, and I asked the guy at the front of the line who has been doing stand-by since 1975 and has all the SNL info what the deal with Jeff was. He said that he wasn't fired, but he's not coming back either. I really liked Jeff. He was underused, but when given a chance he was funny. Drunk Girl was great.

I remember Jeff, Drunk Girl.. I didnt even notice hes gone from SNL. But he was funny. I think that because of ratings, SNL wouldhave got him noticed quicker for future projects.

You talked to louis? b/c in her last email, jamie said she didn't kneow what the hell was happening with jeff, and If her husband had known that he wasn't fired, wouldn't he have told her?

This was in the New York Observer this week:

"Just as Governor Howard Dean seems to have run out of steam on the campaign trail, his Saturday Night Live impersonator, Jeff Richards (whom you may also remember as Drunk Girl) seems to have recently gone missing around the same. According to NBC, he’s no longer with the show. What gives? "The show just made a shift in the cast," said an NBC spokesman."

Asked Kenan about Jeff Richards. He said Jeff was having a hard time so they let him go. It was a mutual agreement between Jeff & SNL.

I wonder what he was having a hard time with....

Jeff claimed that he left the show, and wasn't fired. Someone mentioned going back to MADtv, and he laughed and said "no way". I believe it was on his website.

This article says that he did leave, and that he only got a contract for four episodes of MAD.

i think when you are a featured player on mad, you have a contract for about 5-10 episodes and if you r good enough, they ask you to come back

I liked Jeff's impression of Dave Letterman. Those were funny. I would of liked to see more of him, but he left & went for SNl, then left & no one's heard of him since. Has anyone heard of him?

I also liked his David Letterman impressions. Why did he ever leave Mad Tv? To go on SNL. I hate SNL. Mad Tv fans and SNL fans are rivals. Since SNL gave him the boot, he should come back to Mad Tv, home of quality entertainment!

Jeff's now doing celebrity impressions on the new MTV cartoon "Where My Dogs At?", I saw an episode the other day, Jeff did just about every celebrity voice on the show. Tom Cruise, Andy Dick, Jimmy Fallon, and Jack Black to name a few.

Jeff Richards, the man who became famous for being known as the only person to ever move from MADtv to SNL in history is now known for something else. He gets the honour of being in one of my quick timelines. Though he may have only lasted one season, and moved on to other work, we cannot forget that he was a cast member at one point, and is worthy of at least a quick timeline.

2000: Jeff gets a job on MADtv of their upcoming season.

October 14, 2000: Jeff appears in his first episode. His first sketch would be as a backup in a Will's Little Sister.

November 4, 2000: Jeff appears in his last episode.

Life After MAD

While, Jeff did have one of the more shorter runs on MADtv, but this did not stop him. After being cut from MAD, Jeff simply moved on to the rival show Saturday Night Live the next season, where he spent 2, 1/2 years (2 as a feature player, and a 1/2 a season as a cast player). In 2004, Jeff left SNL on his own terms to focus more on stand-up comedy. He has appeared on television in bit roles, but is mostly focusing on traveling sketch comedy. Jeff's chances of returning (in a big form) are not likely as he is most likely now focusing on stand-up than television and movies, but if MADtv ever needs a person for a David Letterman sketch, I guess they know who to call.

I found this song and video called Asswax on youtube from Jeff's new comedy album Asswax that came out today . If you look closely, the "woman" who is said to look like Connie Chung, you will see that it is someone who is notorious for playing Connie on a sketch comedy show based in LA on the Fox network.
