I play computer games. The Sims 2 and American McGee's Alice are the bestest games EVER!

Oh gosh...the last video game system I had was a Game Boy color. I love me some Legend of Zelda. heh
I had a N64 too, but I only played Super Mario 64, Super Smash Bros. a nd South Park.
My favorite console was Sega Genesis.... mmm Mortal Kombat(!).
That game rules. I also liked Primal Rage, Paperboy, The Lion King and Aladdin...

MMMMM I don't like the new systems (playstation, Xbox, etc)..yeah I'm more of a Super Nintendo player lol. I don't really play it anymore but I still have one and every once in a blue moon I'll play something. I love Street Fighter 2, Sim City, Wario's Woods, Pac Attack, Zelda, and any Mario game. I could go on and on but I'll spare you all the full list.

I used to play the Sims on PC but I don't know, I guess I got bored with it. Actually I kinda want to play it right now lol but I'm too lazy to reinstall it all.

aw you dont like the new systems even a little?
although i do agree, the oldschool games is where its at most of time. I love all the old pc games like space quest and king's quest and all those old dos vga games, those were fun and i still play them all the time.

And i must admit that the snes was one of the coolest systems, it had all the wicked rpgs and fighting games.

The only game I have on the computer is Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. And that's pretty fun. I'm not a big fan of the SIMS mainly because my sisters have so many of those damn games it has driven me insane. But I do like The Urbz: Sims in the City.

But I play the Playstation 2, Gamecube, the handhelds like Nintendo DS and some other stuff. I like a lot of videogames except Shooting and Sports. Blegh. Not all sports games though. Mostly basketball, football, baseball, soccer, fishing and a whole list of other stuff.
  • Mortal Kombat
  • The Legend Of Zelda
  • Final Fantasy Games
  • DragonQuest games
  • Sonic the Hedgehog
  • Mario Games
  • Super Monkey Ball
  • Super Smash Brothers
  • Bomberman
  • Crash Bandicoot
  • SSX Tricky
  • Racing Games
  • Fire Emblem
  • Gex
That's all I can think of for now. But yeah, I play some videogames.

Haven't been that much into video games for the last years, but I'm currently playing Guild Wars and Battlefield 2 on PC and Half-Life 2 on XBox. And if someone wants a really good action game, get Gamecube and Resident Evil 4. That's Cube's only good game, but they're quite cheap when you buy them together.
Oh and Final Fantasy 7 is the best game ever, hands down.

My daughter and I love Spongebob: Battle for Bikini Bottom on Gamecube. We've tried other Spongebob games but found this one to be our favorite. Tak is also fun. Monkey Ball is way too hard for her and too frustrating for me.

I'm mostly a Nintendo fan but Potty did a pretty good job summing up what games are my favourite.

And yes, Final Fantasy 7 is the best game ever.
I'm glad no one had mentioned Halo because I think they suck. I'm not big on shooting games except Goldeneye from back in the day.

I suppose I'm obligated to add a proper response to this thread.

In terms of game quality, I'm inclined to agree that SNES was the "best" console. Chrono Trigger, Donkey Kong Country, Earthbound, Final Fantasy, Legend of Zelda, Ogre Battle, Secret of Mana, Super Mario Kart/RPG/World... need I say more?

While FF7 may have brought Final Fantasy to the masses, I would contend that FF4 and FF6 blow the pants off it. But, of course, next to the cinematic marvel that was FF7, I don't expect anyone to agree with that view. Should we be given updated versions of all three on the PS3 (knock on wood), then you'll understand. FF4 > FF6 > FF7 > FF9 > FF1 > FFX > FFX-2 > FF5 > FF8 > FF3 > FF2.

Of the current console generation (in which I include Dreamcast, GameCube, PS2, Xbox, and Xbox 360 for the time being), PS2 takes the cake. As was the case with SNES, there are more fantastic games for PS2 than you can shake a stick at. Not quite as many true classics, though.

Favorite games by platform:
  • Amiga: Barbarian
  • Atari 2600: Yar's Revenge
  • Commodore 64: Loderunner
  • NES: Final Fantasy 1
  • GameBoy: Final Fantasy Legend 2
  • SNES: Secret of Mana
  • Genesis: Sonic 3
  • Sega CD: Lunar: Eternal Blue
  • N64: Mario 64
  • PlayStation: Final Fantasy 7
  • Dreamcast: Soul Calibur
  • GameCube: Super Monkey Ball
  • PlayStation 2: Tekken 5
  • Xbox: Ninja Gaiden Black
  • Xbox 360: Kameo: Elements of Power
  • PC: Monster Truck Madness 2
Favorite games by genre:
  • Action: Ninja Gaiden Black
  • Adventure: Legend of Zelda 3
  • Fighting: Tekken 5
  • FPS: Unreal Tournament 2004
  • Platforming: Donkey Kong Country 2
  • Puzzle: Super Monkey Ball
  • Racing: Burnout Revenge
  • RPG (Action): Secret of Mana
  • RPG (Traditional): Final Fantasy 4
  • Sports: Virtual Pool 3
  • Strategy: Warcraft II
Finally, let it be known that $700CAD for a video card is ridiculous. I've missed out on far too many PC games these past few years.

well you are looking like quite the gaming connoisseur. I do agree that ps2 is the best console by far, but xbox 360 might be on the rise soon if they can pull out some spectacular games, honestly though i think the xbox hype is way overrated.

And i was saddened to see FF8 so far down on your list, that was one of my most favourite ones.

and i hardcore agree with you there, this is one of the best fps hands down, i just cant wait for the next one to be released this year, but i'll probably need a new graphics card. And i do agree that $700 is a little ridiculous but think of how long it lasts you, currently im running on an ati radeon 9600 from quite a few years ago and im still able to run new games on my pc, so if you look at it long term if you actually put some time into using your new graphics card then i think it's a good investment.

Sadly, that's a *huge* "if". As the proud owner of a 360, I'd like nothing more than to see it succeed, but as of this very moment, I can count the number of upcoming games that interest me on a single hand. That's not a good sign.

The futuristic setting idea worked the first time around in FF7, but I truly believe Square should've counted themselves lucky and dropped it for the next installment. After all, this is Final Fantasy -- not Xenogears. When FF9 marked a return to form, I think the results spoke for themselves.

Oh, and that magic draw system? Ugh.

Ah, but video card longevity is entirely dependent upon what you consider "good enough". I don't mind turning down the details as my card ages, but I refuse to accept anything less than 30fps in 1152x864. Any game I can't achieve that in, I consider unplayable. In fact, that's why I uninstalled UT2004 half-way through the single-player campaign -- I possess more than enough skill to complete the matches, but my framerate drops to 10-15fps during every firefight, resulting in almost certain death. Amazing game otherwise, though. Someday, I hope to have a rig worthy of it (and UT2007, for that matter).

FF8 was really good for the first three discs, but then at the beginning of fourth: Every city was closed, you could only go to dungeons and things like that, there were only one guy to play cards with, it came really easy when you just drawed hundreds of Aura-spells from Island closest Hell/Heaven and then just knocked down every enemy and Weapon using Squall's Lionheart (or what was his best limit breaker called) and casted Auras.

FF9 was maybe the worst FF I've played (from IV to X). Boring characters and plot, stupid fighting system, no Weapons (Omega or Ultima), just a stupid ball going round 'n' around, really bizarre card game and that middle age game world (favoring more those futuristic worlds that 7 & 8 had).

FFX had so much to play and the series best battle and level system, but the characters were kinda cliche like in FF9 and their voices were sometimes so annoying and stupidly lipsynced. Blitzball was really easy game, only hard match was the first one. X is like Final Fantasy's San Andreas: It has freaking big world and millions of things to do and many hidden enemies, (altough Omega and Ultima were still missing, if I remeber correctly), but characters were annoying and the plot can be hard to undestand correctly.

Since I like reading and doing lists, I'll make my own favorite games list.

Best games ever:

Final Fantasy 7
Super Mario Bros. 3
Resident Evil 4
Grand Theft Auto: Vice City
Metal Gear Solid
Tekken 3
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4
Kingdom Hearts
Shenmue 2

If someone hasn't played Resident Evil 4, then you should really buy GameCube, just for that game.

Either that, or simply grab the PS2 version with the additional content.
