I don't find Arrested Development very funny, so I don't care either way that it was cancelled. I watched about 6 or 7 episodes from the first season, and I understood plenty of the "jokes" but understanding them doesnt make them hilarious.

I don't think it was the smartest or wittiest show ever made either. Not by a LONG shot. Personally, I think both Family Guy and The Simpsons (in its first decade at least) have been much funnier and relevant, in terms of both pop culture and social critique. And they're both on FOX, as well as 24, one of the best dramas on television at the moment (thanks bw for pointing it out to me), so I don't think FOX is all that bad.

AD fans should be grateful the show got to a second season at all, despite its terrible ratings. Shows like Freaks and Geeks and Grosse Pointe, two of the funniest shows of the nineties, didn't even get a second season. Arrested Development may have recieved high critical praise, but television is a commercial industry: if you can't sell shows to advertisers because no-one is watching, then you have no way to keep producing episodes. You can't expect FOX to keep propping up a sinking ship.

No...I was serious. That sucks. I thought it was funny, and when Arden guest starred she was good too.

And Kurt makes a good point. I was surprised it even got a full 1st season.

I read online yesterday that a new series that airs on Friday Night is getting its plug pulled.

The good news is not "Hot Properties" and the even better news it's the lame NBC series "Three Wishes".

I guess Amy Grant can focus more on her singing career than helping normal people "dream big".

So I guess thats good news if you look at it as ABC allready having allready decided what will be axed and HP not being on the list.

Bad news if you like that show.

Good news if Less than Perfect takes that show's spot.

I'm clearly jumping to conclusions but it makes me happy .

I don't know if anyone here cares about this, but if any of you are cartoon fans, Cartoon Network has cancelled Teen Titans. And even though Justice League Unlimited is CN's highest rated show, it might be in danger of cancellation too.

Ehh, I never really liked Alias and I definitely wasn't a fan of Teen Titans, so IMO, it's not that big of a loss. But anyways, I can't wait until Arrested Development and Kitchen Confidential (hopefully) finish up their runs when they come back in December.

I never really liked Alias either. Both Alias and 24 debuted in the same year, and 24 is a way better spy action show. Alias always seemed to me like a Buffy rip-off.

I always wondered why Alias wasn't axed after its second season. That's when Jennifer Garner became a hot commodity (more like a media grabber), was virtually "everywhere," and started dating and dumping Hollywood men left and right. She clearly didn't need Alias to keep her career going.

Since then, I've pretty much gotten sick of Jennifer Garner.

Any thoughts? I haven't really been watching Arrested Development this season because I keep forgetting when it's coming on, but still, that sucks.
There was a really Short article in Entertainment Weekly last week about 7th Heaven being cancelled or at least on it's way out, the creators are trying to get the whole original cast back for a final show but they said it was highly unlikely those actors would want anything to do with it and I can understand why, is it just me or has that show been on the air way too long? As for Arrested Development I haven't heard anything which is too bad it's such an underrated show.

I just learned that Joey is being shelved in January, when American Idol returns. So it's an eyelash away from Cancelled TV Land.

More shows on the chopping block:

FOX announced this morning that Malcolm in the Middle will end at the end of the season. I'm honestly not surprised at all--it was pretty obvious that this was going to be the last season anyway. But on the plus side, they haven't filmed the last episode yet, so it's likely that the show will actually get an ending.

But really, how did this show get cancelled and not Bernie Mac?

Dang--Malcolm was a good show, but it has definitely had an extreme decline in quality since it began. Really, I wouldn't be upset that it got cancelled except for the fact that the Bernie Mac show didn't. That shows awwwfuuuuulll.

I'm sure Frankie Muniz would like to move on to other things and end his "Malcolm" days.

I actually like Bernie Mac's show. It's pretty funny IMO. Malcolm in the Middle I didn't like.

Fox also officaily announced the cancellation of That 70's Show and King Of The Hill is probaly gone too.

It looks like Josh Meyers might be looking for daytime jobs soon.

Everyone pretty much knew this was the last season of That 70's Show. The cast members were saying it and always mentioning the series finale but I'm surprised King Of The Hill is a possibility for getting axed. I thought it was doing well. They still have a lot they could cover for material so thats disappointing to hear.

I think Malcom in the Middle has overstayed it's welcome now. I think that the fact that the newest child was a boy ruined the show for me and I haven't watched it since I found out that Jamie was a boy. Besides, the same network now has the War At Home to be the new Malcom in The Middle.

An Arrested Development.... development: it still isn't oficially cancelled but Fox is saying that it is pretty much over. In a recent news article I read it said that Fox has yet to officially axe the show but they exect that it will be cancelled. So there is a very very slight possibility that it may make a comeback. *Crosses Fingers*
