When thought about though, it was probably a good idea that Conan didn't go to Fox, because they probably would have forgotten about him within the first month, in which they would stopped advertising for him. Fox will never have a successful late night show if they keep doing what they have been doing. In truth MAD should have been cancelled after season 11 just because they stopped advertising it (not for quality, which was always great) (Except 40 minutes into an episode). And look at Wanda Sykes show. They advertised maybe the first 3 episodes, but now, I'm pretty sure everyone has forgotten it's existence. Until Fox realizes that they need to keep advertising for late night shows instead of giving up on them once they fall even the slightest, they will never find success.

Well I think it gets better than that, because Comedy Network will also be running it too, and with the fact that they moved Daily Show and Colbert Report to 10:00 that could possibly mean that they are going to run it at 11:00 at the same time in the States. This is the only logical reason for the moving of both Daily and Report to 10:00 when it still runs at 11:00 in the States. So by the looks of it we will be able to see Conan at the same time it airs in the States. Praise Jesus indeed.

Completely irrelevant to me since Comedy Network HD still(!) hasn't launched -- that's why I've been anxiously awaiting an announcement from another network -- but I suppose this is good news if you have a tube TV, a receiver without DVR functionality, or a life with commitments.

I don't know why they haven't made a Comedy Network HD either. I mean would it really cost CTV, who has just buttloads of money (probably from all the Canadian Programming they don't produce) that much to just do it. All they have to do is write to the CRTC bastards, ask them in just a simple e-mail and it's done.
As for the good news thing it is good for me because I have the tube tv, no DVR, and commitments ![]() __________________ ![]() ![]() Planet MADtv (August 28th 2002- August 28th 2009, August 28th 2010)

Comedy Network HD has already been approved, actually -- CTV just hasn't bothered launching it for reasons unknown. Alas, now that Bell owns CTV and is on the verge of being completely out of space for new channels on their current satellites, I don't expect to see it any time soon. No sense in giving your customers yet another reason to switch to cable.

They already have the licence? Then why aren't they launching it! It would cost them nothing by now. You don't have to run different programming from the standard channel, and on the Shaw box I have at least there are tons of channels between 2-500 that they don't use (Bell's boxes probably are the same). This is just another reason why we should just get rid of all of these channels and just live through the US system. We all want that.
With how long it takes for anything to get done in this country, I'm frankly surprised that we have such a high standard of living here. By how things move here everything should just say "to be done... maybe". __________________ ![]() ![]() Planet MADtv (August 28th 2002- August 28th 2009, August 28th 2010)

In other Conan news, Andy Richer will hope that 3rd (or maybe it's 7th by now) times the charme, as he has announced that he will be playing the role of Conan's sidekick for the 3rd time on a different show

So, what did everyone think of Conan's first show? I didn't really like it personally. I thought the opening was a little weak, and as for the show, it just seemed like every other talk show. I was really hoping this show would be a lot less guest oriented but this episode wasn't. I hope the show gets better in the future once it gets settled, but after seeing tonights show, and all the build up to it... eee it was not that good.

Hey, it's the same thing he's been giving us for the past 17 years now. That's all I wanted/expected, so I'm satisfied; still, I can understand why others' mileage may vary.

I watched to the first show and I thought it was pretty good. But give Conan time, I think he and Andy will find his groove in the future
