[MADtv] Planet MADtv: The Post MADtv Years

Now, I know in the last little while there have been some concerns on how we were going to keep up the MADtv content on here with the show *possibly* gone. Well I have a few plans brewing in my old skull that will help keep the site going for at least the next year. I was going to post this earlier, but with the news that the show may be coming back made me hold off on this. I didn't want to send the show down the river while the baby was still kicking, but now that it looks like the show could go either way, and there is a really good chance that either one or the other may happen, so if worse comes to worse, I want this to at least be here just so there is not a mass exodus of fans, who think that just because the shows done, the sites done too. So here are some of the initiatives that I, and some other members on here will be doing, and some of the things that will continue to be here and be newly updated, to help keep Planet MADtv relative and new in this *possible* post MADtv world.

P.S. This entire article will be written under the impression that the show is not returning, to save confusion.

P.P.S. I will not set a date for when I will begin any of the projects I am mentioning. Just know that by this time next year, most of them will be completed.

Behind the MADness: The Story of MADtv
This was something I had planned to post within a few hours after the last episode aired, but with the news that the show was being shopped around, again baby in the river. Behind the MADness is a 6 part series that will tell the story of MADtv in cut portions. It will go through the good times of MAD, and the bad times of MAD, and will hopefully bring back some fond memories for all of you long time MAD fans.

Timelines
Remember the cast member timelines? They were one of the first things I ever did on here that went over really well. Well with a bunch of long running cast members now leaving the show, I can do timelines on them now. That means a Keegan timeline, a Crista timeline, a Bobby timeline, they can all be done now.

The MADtv Season 14 Awards
Currently going on right now, the MADtv Season 14 Awards celebrate the best that was season 14. In my signature right now you can find a link to the nomination stage where you can vote for the top 3 categories that will move on to the next round. So vote for the best, because if you don't, are you really trusting everyone else to vote for you?! That's just crazy!

The MADtv Lifetime Achievement Awards
While the MADtv Season 14 Awards are about the best of MADtv season 14, the Lifetime Achievement Awards are for the best of all of MADtv. Who is the best character ever? Who is the best cast member ever? What is the best season ever? It will all be decided. It will be the non-official official decider of what can be called the best, and what can be called the rest!

MADtv Games
There are a lot of MADtv games here that have not been opened for a while, well with all the characters, seasons, and cast members officially completed, I think it might be time to open those up. Some of them have not been played in years, and I think should be opened up for the new generations of Planet MADtv fans. I know that the Characters/Impressions Showdowns have not been played in a while. Let's start those up again why not?

The Countdown to 10,000
I'm not sure if any of you know this but Planet MADtv is almost at 10,000 members. Now probably about 9,000 of those members have probably never made a post on here, but it's still a special milestone. We currently stand at 9,764, making us only 236 members away from the mark. This is something to watch out for.

This I will remain a secret until the time is right.

The Off-Topic Forum
This isn't really an initiative, but it is a way to keep activity going. As much as this site is a MADtv fan site, the off-topic forum often gets the most attention on here, and it has probably always been the most active thread (by my assumption) on here. This can keep activity up, and allow the site to continue if we keep posting in here.

Episode Summaries
After summarizing almost all of the season 14 episodes, and all the season 12 episodes, I am currently summarizing the season 1 episodes from the DVD I have. I one day hope to have all the episodes summarized, and finished. This is an on-going project you can all watch as it happens.

Transcripts
There are always a lot of transcripts that need to be written up. We can all participate in this one. I will and have done my share of them. It would be great if all of you could find the time to do a transcript or 2 too.

Former Cast Member Updates
There are always former cast members doing things outside in the acting world. This is probably the best place to keep tabs of them all. After all, who doesn't want to know what great former cast members like Brook Totman, and Jeff Richards are doing these days?

Impressions
As you know I have been updating the impressions section for the last few months. Due to the finicky search engine, I haven't been able to keep up with it, but I will get it done eventually, and I am sure I can get it done by next year.

These are all the reasons I can think up as of right now, but as I'm sure you can see, there is enough content here to keep the site new and pretty for at least the next year but hey, this can't be all just me. This has to be a collaborative effort. In order for the site to survive, it needs the help of as many people as possible. So how bout it everyone? Will you all take the call, or will you just sit back, and watch the site possibly die, and lose contact with all the great members that some of you have all gotten to know over the last 8 years? Help keep this site alive, so that it will always be here to remind people of MADtv, in this post MADtv world.

Just as many times as I keep saying that MADtv will be returning for a 15th season. Well, maybe not that many.

Not everyone is as into the show as they used to be and they are really only here to talk to other forum members. No one wants to Talk about MADtv anymore.

Yes, but a lot of people (by what I have seen) still are. We need to keep the MADtv content up. If only 2 sections get info, we are going to fall out of Google ad's good graces, and then the site won't be around at all. Also, if any new users come by, you think they are going to want to come here because of the off-topic forum? No, they want to come for the MAD content, and I want to keep that up.
