Oh, Michael is a solid actor, and I'll admit that the show's concept is excellent (albeit not particularly my cup of tea), but the non-Dexter-focused portions did absolutely nothing for me. Again, didn't hate it -- there just wasn't enough there to keep me coming back for more.

First season, first four episodes. Always the first four episodes. After spoiling so much of "24" for myself by jumping in half-way through S3, I refuse to make the same mistake again.

Decided to split this off into its own thread. See the first post for more information:

Pretty self-explanatory idea, so I don't think anything else needs to be said here aside from the obvious -- should the discussion ever go in-depth enough to warrant its own thread, you know what to do.
First point of order: Chuck. Worth watching? To which other show(s) would you compare it? Sell me.

30 Rock is a very funny show. Tina Fey, Alec Baldwin, Jane Krakowski and the rest are very funny. It's a clever show and I would suggest trying it out!

There's a show I watch that comes on Saturdays at 11:00 on FOX. You may have heard of it. It's called MADtv? And I hear it's on its last season, so...

I am also a BIG fan of the British series Skins. This is a teenage drama that isn't on some watered down faux-angst shit like most American/Canadian ones.

Grosse Pointe!!!!! And Freaks and Geeks. In some way I'm glad they only lasted a season a piece, because neither got a chance to stagnate.

Here's another awesome show: Breaking Bad on AMC. It stars Byran Cranston (Hal from Malcolm in the Middle) as a chemistry teacher with terminal lung cancer who decides to sell meth with one of his former students. Season 2 just started Sundays at 10:00.

I've heard very good things about Breaking Bad. I'm definitely going to check that out.

I want to recommend East Bound and Down on HBO. It's a consistently funny show, which is hard to come by these days. It's about a washed up baseball player named Kenny Powers who has to come back home to try to make a living. Lots of crude humor but its still pretty funny. Fair warning, Will Ferrell does play a minor role in the show so if your WF tolerance is low, check out one episode and make sure you won't overdose.

Definitely a very funny show though. Comes on right after Flight of the Conchords which is just as awesome.

Speaking of shows nem watches, his favoritest show ever, The Best Years, starts its second season on April 3 on The N. It doesn't look like any of the cast is back, though.

You had best be joking. If Samantha Best isn't on then how the hell is it going to be The Best Years? Also, I'm pretty sure I recently saw the actress who played Samantha whip her tits out in that horrible movie, Alpha Dog.

SHE'S gonna be on it of course, but I don't think anyone else in the cast is coming back. Probably because the show was cancelled for a year, so they had to find new jobs.

Is True Blood any good? I'm intrigued by the vampire aspect, and I've heard good things. Those "good things" are mostly that the female cast gets naked a lot, but I could just go online for that. Is there anything about it actually worth watching?

I watched about 20 minutes of it and got really annoyed. Its like some sort of bizarre take on the civil rights movement except instead of blacks getting discriminated against, its vampires and their gothy friends.

Ehhh, yeah. Actually you're probably close on that since it has the weird looking girl who played the character that could absorb super powers. I don't quite know the names because I hate the X-Men but you get the point.

I just started watching the first season of Extras on YouTube, liking it so far. Any other non-US TV show recommendations? Summer Heights High has been on HBO lately but I haven't been able to watch it when it's on. Speaking of HBO, I've heard great things about Eastbound & Down and In Treatment, but again, haven't seen any of them.
