wow...
this episode was terrible...

Debra and Mo are great and all, but it only made me notice how bad the current cast is..
well the guys atleast.

all of the male castmembers are so unfunny and stale
rice and beans?
it's like watching a bunch of egotistical(sp?) frat nerds with a camcorder goofing off
where are the guys like Aries Spears, Paul Vogt and Will Sasso?
can they not find anyone good male comedians anymore?

Crista, Michael, and Nicole are my only reasons for watching
Jordan's alright too, as well as Bobby on occasion

I just don't feel MADtv is relevant anymore.
It doesn't have a core audience anymore either.

sorry if this sounds all boggled and unorganized but I'm ranting

The writers strike is to blame for the lack of alumni sketches, of course. But I still think they could've taped some kick-ass sketches with Mo and Debra instead of filling the time with an obvious last-minute comic, the Rice and Beans tour, and an encore. It's also not to blame that the non-alumni sketches, like the Pickpocket and the ClifNotes sketch, were terrible. If you're not gonna fill the time with alumni sketches, at LEAST make the other sketches good. I know they're capable of it.

I personally think the cast is fine, it's the writing that's suffering. Johnny sucks, though. Anjelah is alright, but I have a lot of hope for Dan and Daheli (if Daheli ever debuts, that is.)

Ick! I did NOT like this episode at all; Lorraine and Whitney were funny but it didn't feel like it was the best they could do for the 300th episode...

^Agreed.

Despite MADfan's comment, I'm planning to transcribe only the Lorraine sketch this week, since it's the only one generating any buzz around here. Just a heads-up.

The only funny thing about this episode was the 2 things that Debra did.

The rest of it sucked......plain and simple.

This episode was very lackluster. I know that it's due to Alex and Will pulling out at the last minute but still....I think they could've at least picked better sketches then Rice & Beans, the painfully boring "Doing Drugs For Children" bit and that weird Pickpocketing sketch.

Lorraine was definitely the best, as the poll suggests. It was in a different leauge then the others. Debra's sketches were ok, but her appearence was wasted, IMO.

This episode gets a D+, which I feel is a very generous rating since it was the 300th episode.

ahh this ep was...good
except it was suppose to be..awesome
it just felt like another ep,not 300th ep
I love debra and mo so it was good to see them both back,but...i dunno...the stuff they did could of been stronger imo
I voted steve byrnes standup as the best,i thought he brought a lot of energy to his bit and i really enjoyed it.Easily the best stand up on the show this season
I also actually enjoyed the rice and beans bit.It creeped me out when the guy said he liked high school girls though, argh.
Bobbys fear of forests also made me lol,as my g/f has the same fear..about tree people...like..murdering her, haha.
Loved seeing lorraine again aaaaand doing drugs for kids was the other sketch i enjoyed

Anyway Bobby, I agree with Nick I'm not totally blaming you for the overload on racial sketches, and I actually enjoyed a lot of your stuff last year since it wasn't as excessive as it was in the past. It's not the sketches themselves I have a problem with, it's the excessive amount of them, which mostly falls on the show. Like I said, in Season 12 I was fine with most of the asian sketches (in fact, i loved Attitudes and Feelings) cause it wasn't as excessive. The majority of the people feel the same way about Stuart - they're sick and tired of him because of how he was shown ad nauseam in Seasons 4-9. It's not necessarily Michael's fault, but it's just the fact that it's been shown in excess.
Random but:

I was sad Doreen and Stuart didn't appear in the 300th

Today my Comedy Network aired both the 300th (if you include the rerun of the episode at 2:30-3:30A.M) and 200th episodes on the same day. It's so unbelievable how different they were. The 200th episode being what many would consider the best episode ever, and the 300th episode being probably MADtv's lowest moment. With a new bad format, a writers strike, and sketches that shouldn't have been there. It was so amazingly bad in comparison.
