Finally he holds a spot of immense power, ruling over all that is good and just...

Sorry, got carried away. Good news for the veteran!

So technically he's only kind of left the show. So I guess this means that Stuart, Marvin, Larry, and Mofaz are not dead, they are just like the Olympics. Only taken out every 4 years (or in this case every so episodes). Ever since this page was made my hopes for MAD season 14, and beyond have been climbing ever higher!
Nicely put! It makes me drool just thinking about it..heheh *drool, drool*

Michael won't be guest starring on the show. According to an interview Keegan did, he may occassionally step in as a director. Don't read into this as him making infrequent appearances on the show, because at this stage, he most likely won't be.

Here's the original quote from the article:

Do you ever crack up on set?

"Michael McDonald was the master of making other people break and not breaking himself. He can detect that twinkle and will not stop until he got you.''

You talk about him in the past tense.

"Yes, he's is leaving the show. It's the demise of [obnoxious man-child] Stuart. He'll come back and direct, though.''

I just noticed that all the departing cast members from season 13 all occasionly wrote their own sketches, I hope that the new guys can write their own sketches because there will be a big whole in ther writing department (only Crista, Johnny and Nicole write, Keegan and Bobby used to on occasion but don't anymore),

the main rreason why I care about this is that I always liked skecthes written by actors ( I guess it's because they like the roles better because they created them)

And the Michael thing, I figure he won't make multiple guest appearences because no other actor in MADtv history has, he may guest star once towards the end of the season (maybe in an alumni special) but that'll be it

Oh and they should have an alumni special (maybe the season finale) where a bunch of former cast members guest star to make up for the 300th episode. I mean, who wouldn't want to see another Vancome or Lorraine or Swan or Stuart (that's right I said Stuart) or Dot or Kenny Rogers or Bunifa and I could go on....

I've always enjoyed the sketches written by the castmembers alot too - personally, I think it's what led the likes of Stephnie, Nicole Parker and Crista to be so popular - that they write material for themselves that they know they excel at. However, I'm pretty sure that collaboration is a big part of the writing process, the cast pitch their ideas to the writers, they work out the kinks, and ultimately present it to the executives. I think if they write the sketch with a writer, the writer gets the credit. If they write the sketch themselves, they get credit...? At least I think that's how it works.

Who knows, maybe if Arden wrote more of her own material, she'd be a huge hit right now. Hm.

From what I was told when working on the episode summaries, any castmember who writes the sketch without the aid of any of the show's own writers is given full credit for that material. However in the event that a show writer writes a sketch in collaboration with a castmember, the show writer is given full credit. It's a cruel world indeed, but those are the politics of show-bizz.

Well... We wouldn't want another Writers' Strike, would we?

There won't be another one anytime soon because of the new agreements and contracts.
