[MADtv] When does Keegan-Michael Key start?

Dang. If that cast holds true next year, considering if MADtv gets renewed, and it better, that's going to be one huge cast.

As for someone leaving out of that huge cast, it/they better be male(s), b/c there are just too many of them. It'd be nice if there would be a 6th female cast member in the mix also.

I think after losing many of their best, most talented cast members (Nicole, Will, Debra, Alex, Mo) and getting people to replace them who are perhaps not as good, or don't have as wide of a range as previous cast members, by hiring large numbers, they can sift out any weak cast members and/or choose the most talented at the end of this season. Really, the only cast members that I can't see the show losing at this point are Stephnie (duh), Michael, Ron, Josh and Nicole. Frank and Bobby are really talented, but we know that Bobby does stand up work and Frank has other projects. Frank is THE BEST celebrity impressionist the show has ever had, but alot of his impressions seem too mature to gel into sketches. It's starting to get really confusing but also exciting to see who makes it into the cast next year.

Yeah I saw that board and it uses vBulletin Version 3.0.0 Gamma- nice. I read a couple of MADtv threads on there too, lots of good comments.

This guy sounds great! I just hope he isn't replacing Aries....I know some of you hate him but he's one of my favorites, esp. in this season, I thought he's been hilarious the past couple of episodes. Wow, imagine 3 black (or partially black) guys on the show....kinda like In Living Color! Anyway, get rid of Ron, he sucks....

I'm guessing Aries goes this season or next. He's been on for a while and quite honestly, is starting to get uninspired. I used to really like him, but he's slipping now.

If this guy is as good as you guys put him over as, we may FINALLY have our successor to Michael McDonald (come on, he's not going to be around forever).

I think Michael may be the one to leave. I read an old thread saying he only returned this season because a show he was working on was not picked up. It doesn't sound like he is too enthused to stay according to what Rockstarjoker has said either. Aries, well, I think he will stay. Sure, he has been on for a long time, but just because we think he is running out of steam doesn't mean he thinks so. I think he will stick it out for a while longer, partially judging by the limited success the other cast members have had since leaving the show (this seems to be the reason Michael stays on- guaranteed work)

I think the way MAD TV is going these days that a larger cast than what we are used to may be a good thing and help the show alot giving it alot more versatility and range but we will have to see wont we?

I don't think Michael will leave after this season. If he leaves, what else is he gonna do? He can't try to come up with a new sitcom because chances are that it won't get picked up. He's done some guest spots but he won't get anywhere just by doing some guest spots. He should stay on MADtv to gain more publicity before going on to do other things.

Yeah cant wait to see what this guys like, judging by the comments made on him it sounds pretty good. But on the other hand it does take featured players at least a couple episodes before they do any thing note worthy than just straight man roles

yeah, it could take a few appearances for him to make an impact...although his first sketch is called "the bride of funkenstein" i really think he's going to come strong with a great character right away.....this guy can do it all and this show will take advantage of it

dude for all we know he could be a regular joe in that sketch... it depends on what role hes given

i don't know much about anything, but he will not get put into any stereotypical role, his range is way too wide and all of his characters are equally strong......the chicago improv/sketch community has been waiting what feels like forever to see him, i hope you all enjoy him as much as we do.....dude is money

He's had extensive training, where Aries hasn't, so I would say he probably would be more like Phil LaMarr and less like Aries Spears. Hopefully.
