So did anyone else see this? I saw it last week. I really enjoyed myself, and Tarantino never disappoints.
Inglourious Basterds is a fictional World War 2 story aboout a group of 8 Jewish-Americans and their Lieutenant Aldo the Apache (played by Brad Pitt) who have found themselves in the "killin gnatzee" business. And brother, business is a-boomin. I really don't want to give anything away because I remember how actively I avoided spoilers before seeing it but I will say the following things: 1) The film is not entirely about the Basterds. There are at least 2 parallel storylines, as is commonplace in any Tarantino film. I'd say the Basterds alone are about 1/3, 1/3 to the other storyline and then about 1/3 when they converge. 2) Don't expect it to be nonstop carnage. It's really more of a comedy, even in the gory parts. Unless I am forgetting something, I think this was the funniest Tarantino film I've seen. Knowing him though, there is a pretty hefty amount of dialog that you will probably enjoy if you like his prior films. 3) Brad Pitt is the major comedic highlight in the film. His character is certainly... a character but he's just so god damned entertaining you get excited when the film returns to a Basterd subplot. I will also say though that the actor who plays the German detective named Hans Landa was absolutely superb. He's just so fucking vile you can't help but want to kill him yourself. Anyways, I loved Inglourious Basterds. I hope when mrog gets back she can watch it and then we high five and all will be right with the world. __________________ An invariant mass requires rest energy without a HITCH, which makes Newton's second law as it appears in a nonrelativistic classical mechanics sitch, BIATCH. Saw it, it was great. Funny and violent, which is a great combo. I wish they focused more on the Basterds tho, the Shoshanna story was ok, but to me not as interesting. Loved Hans, THAT'S A BINGO! __________________ It's all fun and games until someone gets punched in the throat. ------------------------------- Morgan & Nik - Nocturnal Twins Forever ------------------------------- "Tacocat is spelled the same backwards and fowards!" Yeah. I liked the balance pretty well but I guess more basterds would have been nice. BTW what the fuck is up with Eli Roth's watery eyes. It distracted me throughout the whole movie. Tarantino didn't want to spring for some benadryl?

and the men! he was so hot ya'll. I personally liked the Shoshanna storyline, the actress playing her and the guy playing Landa were my favourite aspects of the movie. The scene where the screen went up in flames, with her face cackling amongst the flames? AMAZEBALLS.
