If you are a Will Sasso fan -- and what twisted soul out there dares not to be? -- then 2008 is already off to a fantastic start. First, as for the "TV fooling" part, Canadian fans can catch big Willie when he guest-stars this week on "Robson Arms." For those who have not heard of the show (likely meaning anyone who is not Canadian), the show deals with the adventures of tenants in a downtown Vancouver apartment complex. The episode featuring Sasso, "Geeks in Love," is the second of two "special episodes" CTV will be airing this week. Oh, and what a predicament that wacky Will finds himself in! Why, just read about it yourself in this article:
"In the second sneak preview, 'Geeks in Love,' newlyweds Fred (Haig Sutherland) and Alicia (Jane McGregor) are happier than a couple of Klingons spilling Romulan blood.

That is, until Fred's co-worker Bark (Will Sasso, 'Entourage,' 'Mad TV') starts flirting with Alicia."
Oh, you devil dog, Will! His "Robson Arms" episode airs Wednesday, February 27th, at 9:30pm EST on CTV. We Sasso nuts not fortunate enough to get CTV await a full report from Canadians fans.

Ah, but the Hamfatter has much more to offer these days than a TV guest appearance. He is out to school you in not one, but two, education-oriented movies. First comes College Road Trip, a Disney comedy with a typically irresistible plot:
"Choosing which college to attend can be the most exciting and thrilling time of a young woman's life...unless your overprotective father isn't quite ready to let you go. In the Disney family comedy College Road Trip, Melanie (Raven-Symoné) is eagerly looking forward to her first big step towards independence when she plans a 'girls only' road trip to check out prospective universities. But when her overbearing police chief father (Martin Lawrence) insists on escorting her instead, she soon finds her dream trip has turned into a hilarious nightmare oadventure full of comical misfortune and turmoil."
Will's O'Malley appears to be a minor supporting character; however, if you are one of the myriad highly tolerant souls who simply cannot get enough Raven, then perhaps the movie's official website will keep you occupied until Friday, March 7th, the date on which College Road Trip will be sprung upon the Sasso-obsessed moviegoing public.

The second Will "edu-flick" aspires to Lower Learning. Before anyone decides to break out the obvious jokes about how this should have been the title of the aforementioned film, let us quickly investigate the plot of the second Sasso school-oriented comedy:
"Eva Longoria, Jason Biggs and Rob Corddry will topline the elementary school comedy Lower Learning for distributors Anchor Bay Entertainment and Starz Media.

Writer-director Mark Lafferty's feature debut stars Longoria as a school inspector tracking scandalous allegations about a shady principal (Corddry). Teaming with her old flame -- a former cop-turned-vice principal (Biggs) -- she attempts to bring him down with the help of some disgruntled students. Corddry's 'Daily Show' co-star Ed Helms, Kyle Gass and Monica Potter co-star."
Will's character, Jesse, appears to have a fairly prominent role; therefore, of the two comedies, this news editor will make an (ahem) educated guess that despite its title, Lower Learning will prove the film of choice for the popular "MADtv" alum's legions. Regrettably, we do not know the release date at this time; however, when we do, consider yourselves (oy!) schooled.

Between Canadian flirtations and cinematic matriculations, Will offers plenty of hijinks to keep fans busy for at least the first half of 2008. What awaits Hamfatter devotees in the second half? Oh, the possibilities!

A reliable source has just revealed a skeletal line up for MADtv's impending 300th episode guest cast. As the title suggests, some of you may be shocked at the purported line up, some may be delighted and many will be disappointed. Either way you look at it, it is not what many of us were expecting, to say the least. So far, a longstanding source of mine, affiliated with the FOX network, has provided four names to whet the appetites of eager fans waiting for any bit of information pertaining to the (hopefully) spectacular 300th episode.

As we've known for a few days now, Will Sasso was announced, and confirmed, as returning. In addition to Will, I have learnt that his partner in crime, Alex Borstein will also be putting in an appearance on the November 17th show.

Speaking of partners in crime, would any milestone celebration be complete without Michael McDonald's original counterpart, Mo Collins? It appears not, as she appears to be returning for episode 300 as well.

And as the title suggests, there is a shocking return, the news of which should delight a number of forum regulars. Though this person was not expected to return to the show in any capacity, she appears to have had a change of heart. That's right, the original and best Oprah impressionist will be gracing that MADtv stage once more. At this stage, Debra Wilson is the fourth guest star in the alumni line up.

So there you have it. Whether these four castmembers are the only alumni returning in any capacity remains to be seen. For now, the information available to us suggests that they are, and it brings into question why the likes of such big names in MADtv history are not on the roster. The most notable omissions in my mind, Nicole Sullivan and Stephnie Weir, may be appearing on the show at some point further in the season, or their attendance may be announced in the coming days. Either way you cut it, this is where we stand for now. Additions and retractions are possible, as we await more information from more sources.

Let the discussion begin!

We can now safely say that Season 13 of "MADtv" has officially begun! The information found here confirms that the season premiere (Episode #1305) is being taped tonight at 9:00pm EST/6:00pm PST at the Music Box, located inside the Henry Fonda Theater in Hollywood, CA. The site also confirms the future appearances of three guest stars. First is 'N Sync's own Joey Fatone, whose appearance will be taped on Thursday, November 1st, and will likely air on November 10th (Episode #1306). The other two guest stars will be taping on Tuesday, November 13th, for what one can rightly presume is the landmark 300th episode (Episode #1307). At 9:00pm/6:00pm PST, everyone's favorite Kenny Rogers impressionist, Will Sasso, will tape his "MADtv" appearance at the Music Box. So far, Will is the only alum whom we can confirm for the 300th, although the official "MADtv" site states that several of the series' alumni will indeed be returning for that landmark episode. The other guest star scheduled to tape an appearance on the 13th is self-proclaimed D-list comedian Kathy Griffin, at 11:30pm EST/8:30pm PST; so we can reasonably assume that she too will grace our TV screens for the 300th episode. Is Nicole Parker planning to revive her Kathy Griffin impression for the occasion, hackneyed Botox jokes and all? Will another alum named Nicole (i.e., not the one with two last names) join Will for the 300th, as everyone and his monkey's uncle keeps predicting? Will Joey Fatone announce an 'N Sync reunion as the audience members light torches and charge the stage? Tune in to find out.

In other news, Bobby Lee has announced on his official MySpace page that Season 13 of "MADtv" will definitely be his last on the show. No further details are known at this time; nevertheless, given the prospect of Bobby's Comedy Central series as well as his overall desire to extend his fame beyond "MADtv," one is hardly surprised by the news of his departure. Uh-oh, bye-bye!

UPDATE (10/26): What was once speculation can now be confirmed. According to FOX, Carlos Mencia will indeed guest-star in Episode #1305, which airs November 3rd. Carlos and his good friend Bobby Lee will appear together in another of Bobby's patented "24" TV parodies. Also look for Johnny Sanchez to debut his standup routine for "MADtv" in #1305. The anticipation is downright palpable!

According to Will's official website, www.hamfatter.com, Will Sasso, along with what he describes as "an old colleague", have started a new film company entitled "Lord Mucker Entertainment". Their first feature film is entitled "For Christ's Sakes" and stars Will himself, Sara Rue, Jed Rees, and... Alex Borstein! The film is currently in pre-production and filming begins on June 18th.

Will Sasso has joined an ever-growing ensemble of well known names for the upcoming Southland Tales. The IMDb description categorises the film as containing elements of the comedy, musical, science-fiction and thriller genres, and director Richard Kelly describes it as being a "strange hybrid of the sensibilities of Andy Warhol and Phillip K. Dick." While Will's role is still uknown, here is the basic description of the film from IMDb as it stands:
Southland Tales is an ensemble piece set in the futuristic landscape of Los Angeles on July 4, 2008, as it stands on the brink of social, economic and environmental disaster. Boxer Santaros (The Rock) is an action star who's stricken with amnesia. His life intertwines with Krysta Now (Sarah Michelle Gellar), an adult film star developing her own reality television project, and David Clark (Seann William Scott), a Hermosa Beach police officer who holds the key to a vast conspiracy.
This sounds like it is going to be something to keep an eye out for, with the lead up promotions including six novels written by the director to be released before the film, and one of the most elaborate websites for a film ever created. You can check out the IMDb page for Southland Tales here. Information regarding Will comes from Reuters.

The month of May brings many updates regarding MADtv alumni.

First, we have former MADtv castmembers once again working on voices for Family Guy. This includes Nicole Sullivan, Phil Lamarr, and Will Sasso. Will is going to be playing the voice of Randy Newman. It is unsure at this point what voices Nicole and Phil will be doing. The article can be found here.

Will Sasso will also be attending the Ninth Annual Mint Jubilee Gala, alongside many other celebrities, inlcuding Dennis Franz of NYPD Blue, singer and American Idol winner, Ruben Studdard, and Tori Spelling, to name a few. More information can be found here.

According to AnimatedBliss.com, the animated comedy, "Game Over" will be released on DVD in late June. The series revolves around a video game family, which features Artie Lange as the voice of the family's purple, cigar smoking pet.

Michael McDonald and Stephnie Weir will be appearing in a staging of A. R. Gurney's "The Dining Room" from the 4th to the 16th of July at the Cape Playhouse in Dennis, Massachusetts. More about this can be found here. Many thanks go out to Raphaela for this information.

And finally, according to this article, Bryan Callen will reprise his role as Vic on "Seventh Heaven."

There you have it, folks. More updates regarding these bits of information will be revealed as they come.
