This is really bad: I've read rumours about really crappy, unfamous bands to play MADtv including "Ok Go", "Folksmen" and "Godsmack". What the hell is the matter with the producers! Why not spend the money on more sketch material ?! Plus there's a Caliendo sketch coming up called "Swirly Time" where he break dances. Ike plays Nick Nolte, Frank does Bush/ Marv Albert and Anna Nicole Smith makes her second appearance on upcoming episodes od MADtv!

I meant Marcy Playground (not Marvy: typo) which is one of the crapiest rock bands that ever existed and had one hit called "Sex & Candy" in 1997. Somehow this el lamo track managed to weasel it's way onto the 34-track compilation rock CD Big Shiny 90's. Horrible. Matt said...

Godsmack has been famous for quite awhile now and Ok Go is up and coming but getting pretty famous, at least on alternative radio here in the US. I haven't heard any of their music, but I know people that like them. I have no idea who the hell Folksmen are though.That's one of those Much Music compilations, right? You guys in Canada have way better compilations than we do. And way better candy...Aero Bars, Smarties, Caramilk, Kinder Eggs, and all the other great Nestle and Cadburry stuff that we don't carry in the US. I come to Canada at least once a year and stock up on my candy supply. lol! I live less than an hour from the border. I'll be in Toronto for almost a week this June. I can't wait.

Do they have Mars Bars here? I know they're wildly popular in the UK, but I've never seen them I don't think.. probably because M&Ms are the big candy made by Mars in the US.

Canada has Mars Bar, those are one of my favourites! I cannot believe we make something popular that the US doesn't have, moohahahaha! It's such a popular chocolate bar too, too bad!
Oh, Big Shiny Tunes CD's are generally really crappy. MuchMusic dictates what's popular and then only puts on the poppy stuff only like New Found Glory. Big Shiny Tunes 7 reaks of this problem sooo badly! They didn't even put on Nirvana's new song, Foo Fighters' new song, Red Hot Chili Pepper's new song etc...just stuff like POD or Danko Jones who I cannot stand.

If you're a fan of "Waiting for Guffman" you'll be pleased to know "The Folksmen" is from Christopher Guest's next movie. It is a Folk Group movie (like Spinal Tap... but w/ Folk Music). It's not a real group. It's the same actors from "Guffman" and "Best In Show". Very funny.
